27/10/2025: I hate leaving negative reviews but feel like tonight I have too. Yes staff were lovely and food too. But service lenght was crazy. When arrived was one couple having their mains, we told to pick table (2 adults 1 kid) then another couple came in just after us. Placed order within 15 mins but took 45 mins to hr for kids meal and 2 starters to come out 2 us. Then a further 40 mins for our mains once finished starters. Yes was few people placing phone orders and coming in to collect but to have one person doing phone orders, plus front of house serving is crazy. Could see people left waiting ages on takeaways, one person been told all ur order ready apart from one item that they forgot to put on. Poor person waiting over 20 mins Food was so yummy but wait time was ridiculous

30/09/2025: The time to be served was fast and the waiters are very welcoming you feel so calm and the inside is beautiful i got the chiken chow mein wich was lovely definitely recommend this place

13/08/2025: The seating area is lovely, but the toasted sandwiches were such a disappointment. 6.20 for a ham and cheese toastie that had meagre fillings in it and the cheese wasn’t even melted or hot. A lick of relish or a bit of onion wouldn’t have gone astray. It was the same story for the “Dubliner cheese” sandwich too. 28 euro for 2 sandwiches, a sausage roll, Coke Zero and a kids smoothie.

29/06/2025: Great location and lots of parking. Also great for dogs. Coffee was very nice, we had toasties - they were okay. No very filled and no crisps or sides and still cost over €6 each. Would return as handy spot to pull in.

08/11/2025: Terrible service. No manager on duty and staff spend the whole time gossiping at the till. We rang and booked a table for two and weee put sitting at the door, even though the restaurant was only 20% full and we had asked if we could get a better table. Took forever for someone to take our order. Once we got our food, it was good, but nobody came near us again until we got up and left. Nobody cleared our plates, nobody asked if we would like another drink. Also while we were there a young man came in wearing a Canada Goose dark coat with the hood up, ordered food and sat at the front of the restaurant eating ice cream and then his chips, all while sitting with his hood up and face hidden. Terrible experience. Used to be a really a great place for food and service is a lot better when there is manager on duty. Shame.

28/10/2025: Quantity and quality at its best , is the best way to describe Lana in Portlaoise. It has been consistent on every order that I have made to date , has to be the best and go to for Asian food in Portlaoise. The delivery service is very reliable too .

04/05/2025: The food was amazing. A prefect place for lunch. I hope I can come again soon maybe for dinner. For anyone thinking about having lunch out try Mulhall restaurant.

12/10/2025: We ordered from The Good Year in Portarlington and, sadly, it was a very disappointing experience. I had the salt and chili shredded chicken and it was stomach-turning from the first mouthful — the texture was awful, almost like chewing the white fat off a cooked ham. Completely unpleasant and inedible.The curry sauce was just about OK, but nothing memorable. The chips were overcooked, dried out, and tasted like they’d been sitting for far too long. We also got curry triangles which were very bland — I genuinely couldn’t even tell you what was in them.On a positive note, they did include a small portion of free chicken wings. These were actually quite nice and a thoughtful gesture, but unfortunately they were the only highlight in an otherwise dreadful order.Overall, the meal was poor quality and definitely not worth the money. I won’t be ordering from here again.

02/04/2025: Placed a takeaway order, when driving in they called to say they were too busy and could I wait longer or accept a refund. Accepted the refund option. Then received a call about 2 hours later to say the food was ready, fair enough we all make mistakes, but explained it to the restaurant about the refund and they said refund would be sorted out, 4 days later there is still no refund!!

06/11/2025: Let me start by saying the the two older ladies in the deli and lovely, however, this is a Maxol issue and the two ladies were not behind the deli. I like a sausage and we're all annoyed with the constant prices rising for everything but the standards have also dropped. It's like a free for all, a grab and run with businesses against their own people. Get the food while it's hot! 'No pun intended'. I just have to show what they're making and charging a euro for, you don't get to see the real quality until you break or bite into it. Absolutely awful and the lady that's behind the glass isn't the most pleasant to return it, however, I think that's a language issue rather than rudeness, she's probably lovely. So, it isn't personal, you expect a nice sausage for a euro, which went up 10% in the past couple of months and the quality went down. I know this is a small issue, but it underpins the bigger one, quality and greed in Ireland from business owners. Let's be honest, the sausage came in a big bag and probably cost 15 cent. You can't justify the mark up on things! If you're putting up prices, the quality must improve!

13/10/2025: Nice and convenient place to get a coffee, filling up and getting some papers. Car wash outside is also very good. However, one of the staff members in Deli are absolutely horrible. There's no need for rude comments about what people are ordering, we're paying for it in the end. Couldn't figure her name, but you should be ashamed of yourself. I'll avoid getting deli from this place.

01/11/2025: Honestly, it’s the worse McDonald’s I’ve been too. Newbridge and Naas are much better compared to portlaoise. They would feel bad giving you the right amount of toppings on a McFlurry. Often got a pie from here that has been sold an hour or two past by when it should have been discarded. The chips never taste as good as other McDonald’s, like they’re not salted and stale at times even, on a good day they're still not as tasty as other McDonald’s for some odd reason. Tonight, they got our food wrong as usual and also gave us a chicken sandwich that didn’t look fully done. There’s no point in saying anything the place is completely mismanaged and no one cares.

01/11/2025: I'm not one to leave negative reviews, but this was the most disgusting McDonald's I've ever visited. The floor was greasy and slippery as if they used the mop out of the kitchen covered in cooking grease. Toilets smelled like cat piss and didn't even want to breathe inside there. I ordered the pancakes and sausage with syrup for me partner. After hitting the road she opened the dish all there was was 3 ice cold pancakes, no syrup and no sausage. Absolutely appalling. Staff couldn't be bothered either, absolutely no customer service. Pure dirt!

23/06/2025: Delivers to my area on just eat which is way overpriced on that but on their actual website they cant deliver to my area which makes no sense at all Needs to be changed Not even 10 minutes drive away like ridiculous
