The best restaurants in Leitrim

26/11/2024: I tried booking a conference room one morning every week for four hours for a community event which would have brought breakfast business to their cafe. It took several attempts to get a price from them and when they did come back they told me they were giving me a special offer and only charging me the extortionate sum of €300 per week for those four hours usage. The most we had been charged for better more modern hotel venues in Roscommon town and indeed hotels in Athlone all charge under €100 .. it beggars belief how they believe anyone would bother using their venue if this is the ridiculous prices they are quoting, the bush hotel used to be such a lovely community hotel but sadly this is no longer the case.

17/11/2024: I contacted Murtaghs to organise a night for my sister's hen and from start to finish, it was such a simple process. From having a place to stay, to the food and activities, Rory was brilliant to deal with and made it hassle free. I also met with Brendan to get the keys for the house and he was helpful, friendly and just a phone call away if we needed him. Everything was done promptly, the service was outstanding and we had an absolute blast. The staff were so friendly and attentive, it made the whole night so much fun and we didn't have to worry about a thing. I would highly recommend booking with Murtaghs and will definitely contact them for my next event. Thanks again for everything!!

04/10/2024: Had the most amazing time with a group for my mams 60th. The music and atmosphere was amazing n so up beat the staff were all so friendly n nice n go and beyond for u.. Well worth a visit and definitely be back big shout out to agris I think I spelt it rite🤣🤣 he went all out for us and help us find a sentimental jacket I lost.. Well done agris and staff amazing work together as a team. Couldn't ask for better staff amazing work they do...

23/09/2024: Just returned home after a stag weekend in Glancys accommodation in Carrick on Shannon. We had 23 guests and I would definitely recommend staying here for your stag/hen party. The accommodation was clean, loads of parking, plenty of space for all of our guests, showers all worked perfectly and the location is a short walking distance to the Main Street. Jim organises someone to work as security on the complex until 5am so there is no messing about and they ensured everyone got home safe by giving us a card to call if we ever got in any bother while out on the town which is a class touch. Glancys sports bar directly across the road from the accommodation is a great spot with a cracking breakfast/food and outdoor beer garden, pool table and I would like to thank Jim and the team for their hospitality the weekend was class thanks from myself and all of our guests.

22/10/2024: Not child friendly. Was asked to leave as we had 2 small kids with us. Even though we've been going in for years! Also some of the bar staff are moody and not customer friendly. Very disappointed, they'll be loosing custom from a good few people now!

05/10/2024: When we arrived. Asked waitress for menu but she was more interested in talking to her friend at counter than us. Vol a Vonts were reheated and cases hard to cut and very dry in general. The steak was ordered Rare but came out well done and leatherly. The peppered sauce was Luke warm. All in all I won't be going back again.

22/10/2024: Ordered food for the first time there on Saturday night. Absolutely first class. 2 fish n chips with portion of nuggets. Freshly cooked and proper sized portions. Recommended and will definitely be back..

24/08/2024: Ordered two large pizzas today. Greeted by very friendly staff.Very delicious pizza dough. Fresh ingredients used. Would definitely recommend.

13/11/2024: This is a commercial, bulk buy, fast food joint disguised as a healthy, all irish/all natural, cafe. the chicken was cold in the wrap, the lettuce moulding and the mayonnaise was exceptionally over powering. the chips were stone cold, and the wings were drowned in sauce. awful

23/08/2024: The only independent cafe we could find between Dublin & Leitrim, and it just so happens to have great coffee 🙏🏻

24/07/2024: Great variety of drinks, pastries and treats, not overpriced, and acai bowls are highly recommended!

16/08/2024: Not much vegetarian but there was a small side dish of vegetables. But after ordering it the waiter said the listed price (3.50) was incorrect. Instead it was 6.50. We went elsewhere.

03/08/2024: One of the best takeaways we’ve had outside of Dublin. Definitely the best in Carrick. We got BBQ ribs, shredded chicken, egg fried rice and skewered chicken satay. All amazingly fresh and delicious with great sauces. Would highly recommend

12/12/2024: Good meat counter and good for fresh fish. Love the cook in the bag fish with choice of sauces. Delicious.

17/10/2024: Just love Gurn's. Chicken Parmesan was delicious. Was there back in 2019 and had the same wait person. Great place!

02/09/2024: The people at Gurns made me feel at home. Alana and Grace, in particular, were super friendly. Made leaving Ireland just that much harder. Can't wait to visit again.

05/08/2024: Lovely owners who bring a lot to the town however this experience was aural assault. After dinner on bank holiday Sunday at close to 10 o clock and the volume out of speakers playing the music from murtagh’s bar and niteclub next door left it impossible to talk, as demonstrated by older patrons inside the front door. Why have a different front if it’s the same as the ‘vibe’ next door.

06/10/2024: Wow, what a find, after a tiring day of driving around the area, to be treated to very nice Indian food. Check on spicy, check on flavour, hearty portions, absolutely nothing to complain about. Keep it up folks.

05/08/2024: A great evening from start to finish. An unpretentious environment, speedy and efficient service, really nice house wine at a good price, and delicious food! Butter chicken and tandoori prawns were superb.
