25/04/2025: 3rd time here, ordered a gin and tonic and was told there was no gin glasses. What kind of pub has no gin glasses. We were told there was one and it was dirty. Poor for such an establishment.

04/05/2025: Slow service - even though the restaurant was almost empty. Jafrezi did not taste anything like what it should have. More like sweet and sour. Two members of the party were served the wrong meals. Wrong bottle of wine brought to the table already opened. It was an AWFUL evening

22/04/2025: Delicious food with plenty of vegetarian options—especially loved the methi malai and masala chai, which really stood out.

09/03/2025: Had a lamb biryani from this Indian restaurant, and it wasn’t too bad at all. The portion was spot on, plenty to fill you up. The staff were sound, and the location is really handy. Worth a visit!

23/03/2025: We had Sunday lunch here today.Food was really good.We both went for the salmon option.It was delicious.It came with perfectly cooked veg and a lovely salad.Our deserts were lovely.Staff were very nice.We have friends staying with us in a few weeks.We will deffo have Sunday lunch here again(the pic doesn't do the dinner justice)

26/04/2025: Myself and my 12 year old son went in for a bite to eat today much to the inconvenience of the two young waitresses. No hello just asked do you want food. I replied yes please, she asked 2 of us I said yes. We sat at a table and she literally thrown two menus on the table and went as I was trying to order two drinks. She didn’t even acknowledge my order for the drinks. We sat there for over ten minutes while she and her colleague chatted about fellas and the night before. I even asked are they going to serve us they looked and kept on talking. So we stood up and walked out. I said to them we are not going to stay sitting here without ordering. They just looked at each other and just half laughed. Absolutely appalling to treat a father and son like this after a day of fishing. Avoid this place doesn’t deserve anyone’s hard earned money.

16/01/2025: I decided to try this place as I've seen it a few times while drive by. We decided to try the pizzas. Honestly, I was disappointed. The toppings should have been more and the edges of the pizza was burnt. The cost of the pizza Vs value was disproportionate. Perhaps I visited on an off day....

03/03/2025: Really lovely pub with great grub. Staff here were so lovely, 10/10. If you're in the area it's worth stopping in for a bite and a drink.

13/04/2025: I am so disappointed with gerties I had my 21st birthday party booked with them and they completely let us down. We showed up earlier with the decorations and they wouldn’t let us put them up they said there busy and will do it before we come in hours later when the party was scheduled we walk in to no room no decorations and all of the staff ignorant to the situation would never recommend stay away

13/04/2025: We booked a birthday party in advance with a reserved room. They said we could come earlier in the day to decorate so we did. When we got there, they sent us back home as they claimed it was “too busy” to decorate and that they would do it for us instead. Hours later when we showed up there was no decorations put up and no room or even table reserved for us. 10 of us were left standing with no help from staff. I found my decorations on the floor in one of the closet rooms. When I confronted the employee who said he would put up the decorations, he rudely argued he was too busy to do it even tho we planned to do it ourselves. One of the managers claimed he didn’t know about the birthday even tho we had conversations with other managers over the phone. We ended up leaving as we felt we had no other choice and we’re hugely disappointed. We ended up going to the Brazen Monkey who let us decorate with music and a private bar which turned out ten times better than Gerties could ever pull off. Would not recommend booking here as zero effort was put in on their side and overall bad experience. I recommend anywhere else in Athlone would be more organised for booking events.
