The best restaurants in Mayo

08/09/2024: Very disappointed because we didn't even get in. It says on the internet that it's open, but we found a sign on the door saying it's closed. We were diverted from our route because of this cafe

23/08/2024: Stopped here for a quick sandwich, very tasty and fresh. The staff were friendly.

30/07/2026: The George V Dining Room at Ashford Castle served genuinely amazing food, and on that front it absolutely delivered. The quality, the presentation, and the flavors were all excellent, and in a room this elegant it makes for a truly special setting for dinner. My one honest note is about how the meal was coordinated for our group. Some people at our table had selected the prix fixe menu and others had not, and unfortunately we were not warned about this in advance. As a result, the pacing of the meal ended up feeling really strange, with courses arriving out of sync across the table. A simple heads up beforehand would have made a big difference and allowed everyone to plan accordingly. It is a shame, because the food itself was so good, and with a little more communication the experience would have been seamless. I would still recommend dining here for the quality alone, but if you are a larger group, I would suggest clarifying the menu format and timing ahead of time so everyone is on the same page. With that small adjustment, it would be close to perfect.

11/07/2025: I have been going to Susie since it was in Charlestown . I’d come in with my colleagues almost every Friday since it was literally a block away from our office. Their location in Charlestown has been replaced with a new café that does not compare to Susie‘s at all! Susie’s bistro never disappoints 🙌🏼🙌🏼 from the dishes they serve to the friendly service I always leave knowing I’ll be back. Even with Suzie’s Bistro changing locations from Charlestown to the Tubbecurry Golf Course the food and service has never changed😊 Still, everyone is friendly and welcoming. The new location is spacious and most of the time their tables are reserved. Thankfully, last time I came on a Friday with one of my colleagues there was a two seat table available for us. The amount of food that I had lasted me all day. It was a perfect meal. And of course, I will definitely be back in the future 🤤

29/12/2024: Fabulous food for the whole family and my son has allergies to dairy fish and eggs. It is rare to feel comfortable and trust all the staff. A big 5 🌟

27/10/2024: Had restaurant booked for birthday dinner for group of 6. Was worried after reading previous review. All I can say is we were blown away. Live in Midlands and eat out frequently, including Dublin. Flannerys is without a doubt at the very top when it came to food and service. Definitely missing out if you don't pay a visit. Friends and I already organising our next visit. Thanks Flannerys for a fantastic experience.

16/09/2025: Review from last trip: we loved this palce when we came as a family. The servers were so sweet and attentive compared to a lot of places we tried. I hope they reopen!! Food was good, prices were great. Sept 14, 2024.

12/05/2024: Beautiful meal in Maxwell's tonight. Staff were super friendly and the food was exceptional. Had garlic mushrooms to start and chicken & beef main and couldnt fault it. Would definitely recommend a visit

04/04/2026: Service was decent, the girls serving us were very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the food was only medicore and we bought a bottle of red wine and it wasn't opened fresh in front of us, the cork had been popped back in from being open previously and we had to serve ourselves.

29/05/2026: Lovely stay, very friendly Hosts. We are travelling the Wild Atlantic way and have seen a few B&Bs. But the breakfast here was by far the best! We will certainly be back

18/05/2026: Don't miss out! Here, the guest/holidaymaker is king. Antony bakes everything himself, is helpful with all requests, and a fun-loving guy 🐦 I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
