05/02/2025: Very good chicken tikka kebab. The meat is top quality and the sauces and salads are excellent. It is very good value for 8 Euro.

16/12/2024: Ordered a kebab meal for collection...guy said 15 minutes..see you then in 15...Got there and stood at counter for a good 5 minutes before I was acknowledged...told him what I had ordered over phone...looked a bit surprised...however got the kebab and chose a large portion of chips...charged me 13.25... charged me separately for the drink and chips...very dishonest... If you are reading this please respect your customers a little more...like..."I'll be with you in a minute" sort of way.. You are a business so behave like one...and be honest and not rip people off

23/11/2024: So we came from London and we stayed 7 nights it was very bad at night there was people shouting at night, drifting and bottles smashing.. if you want to have a nice stay don't come here..

14/03/2025: Always a good treat every once in a while. From Chinese to Thai cuisine. Portion is big and it tastes good. Reservation is advised for dine in. This is the only Chinese restaurant in town.

18/10/2024: Do not try to make a reservation at this place using the link on Google maps. I did this and when we arrived the restaurant said they do not have access to the Google online bookings. They were rather rude and did not make any attempt to accommodate us. I would suggest you look elsewhere.

03/03/2025: Staff were nice. Burger was a little overcooked and so were the fries. Most of the tables were covered in rubbish from previous customers with no sign of anyone coming to take it away or clean the surfaces. I wasn’t that comfortable while eating my food while surrounded by all of that.

04/02/2025: This is a shared premises with Londis. I actually got lunch in the supermarket instead. The meal was excellent and service was great.

01/10/2024: I got salad burger and chips. got small overcooked burger in a small bun with an easy single cheese slice stuck in the middle and a bit of salad in unheated bun with chips . I wasn't impressed and I told the guy at the tills and got no apology from him . I won't be back

24/12/2024: The George V Restaurant at Ashford Castle offers a truly magical atmosphere, especially during the festive season. The elegant Christmas decorations, the historic castle setting, and the warmth of the fireplace create a charming and luxurious ambiance that makes the visit feel special from the moment you arrive. While the atmosphere was impeccable, the overall experience fell short in other areas. The food, unfortunately, was inconsistent. The scallops were overcooked and overwhelmed by a chaotic plate presentation, while the winter salad impressed with its fresh ingredients and creative dressing. The black sole fillet was cooked well but accompanied by two types of potatoes, making it feel less refined, more akin to pub fare than fine dining. Desserts were limited to mousses and soufflés, with no cakes or other creative options, highlighting the need for a skilled pâtissier to add variety and finesse to the menu. Service, though attentive in some respects, did not meet the standards expected of such a prestigious venue. Key oversights included: Coats were not taken upon arrival, an unusual omission in a high-end setting. Wine was served only after the food had been brought to the table, disrupting the natural flow of the meal. Basic fine dining etiquette was missing. For instance: Serving and clearing from incorrect sides. Crossing into guests' personal space rather than walking around the table. Stacking plates while clearing. Not replacing dropped napkins promptly. Additionally, the waiting staff lacked the refinement and poise expected at such an establishment, detracting from the overall sense of occasion. That said, we appreciated Manager Andrej's warm attention and the thoughtful anniversary treat, which added a personal touch to the evening. However, given the steep pricing, the value for money was disappointing. The quality of both food and service does not justify the high cost, leaving us feeling that the experience lacked the polish and excellence one expects at such a renowned location. While the ambiance and charm are undeniable, significant improvements in both service etiquette and culinary execution are needed to make the George V Restaurant a truly exceptional dining destination.

07/11/2024: Very nice restaurant. Great service, in particular from Robert and Adrian. The table d’hôte menu was delicious and we really enjoyed the evening. It’s not cheap but I think the prices were fair for the quality of the food and venue. The staff were particularly friendly and added to the evening.

23/12/2024: Come back for Christmas wait all year for a taco fries and made the mistake of trying rosies instead of supermacs. You could hardly call it a taco fries more like mince meat on chips with a bit of sauce no cheese either.Bland tasting meat chips full of oil threw it on the back of the fire to at least get a bit of heat for my money. Definitely won't be coming here again. The fact that the owner does not reply to any of the Google reviews also says a lot for how the business is being run. All my customers get a reply whether negative or positive and i will always try to improve which clearly is not happening here.

28/03/2025: Have tried so many times to get the correct order from this branch of Supermacs. If you order for delivery it’s like a lucky bag. So many times I’ve had someone else’s order, or an incorrect order, that at this point I don’t really expect to get what I ordered. They have curry sauce maybe 1 in 10 times that you ask, rarely have chicken after 9pm, and to top it all off, the app is impossible to use as it says the store is closed!! Then you call and voila it’s open. No delivery available today because the drivers have apparently switched it off!!! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

17/01/2025: Food was horrible some of order was missing and some of it was wrong and the server who bought our nuggets down that we paid for but never got had the neck to say he hadn't left us chips short 4 people 3 chips yes we were short chips and he went up got a bag of chips the dog would not eat and nuggets were red rotten to. I'd never eat in there ever again. Only thing fresh in there was the milk. Do staff no harm to learn some basic customer service.

19/12/2024: First of all , don't waste your money here The Ukrainian woman's are rude , and they won't understand English well. Instead a cod meal i got cod separate and still get charged for meal X without fries, no drinks included even if I pay for meal . Charge me again 3.90 for drinks after I already pay for meal. Won't recommend.
