The best restaurants in Mayo

08/08/2026: Today I had a pizza and a doner here. Unfortunately, this place has really gone downhill. I don’t know what happened, but the quality is definitely not what it used to be. Honestly, I would have been better off going to Castlebar.

08/08/2026: I’ve been eating here for a long time, but I’ve noticed that the portions have been getting significantly smaller. Today I ordered a kebab, and honestly, it looked like a child’s portion — it was about half the size it used to be. This place is clearly going downhill. Three years ago, when I ordered a doner, the portion was so big that I could barely finish it. Today, not only was the portion much smaller, but the meat was absolutely awful. I definitely won’t be coming back here again.

08/05/2026: I love this shop and the fabulously helpful owners. I cant wait to get back to Westport to buy vases and lamps for my newly decorated living room, bedroom and hall. See you soon

04/05/2026: I recently bought a lovely window display vase. Unfortunately my purchase was switched at packaging for what now appears to be a flawed vase (factory 2nd ?). When I phoned to explain the belligerent owner rudely hung up on me !. Nice shop not so nice owners !. CAVEAT EMPTOR !!.

12/07/2026: Supermac's is set in the heart of Castlebar very convenient if you want a fast food menu the actual menu is displayed on the screen above the food area and the menu is good value also the staff are very friendly there is ample seating both upstairs and downstairs as well

06/08/2026: We find it at Safari complex in New town at Makhado area. I've bought chips 🍟.. It is very delicious. Perfect customer service from Mashudu and Vhafhudzi.

23/08/2026: Food was amazing. We as a family of 6 (4 kids and 2 adults) ordered a variety of dishes...including chicken,beef,prawns,duck,noodles,rice,soup. Everything was delicious. We cannot wait to come back.

17/06/2026: Ate here tonight. Food was very tasty. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was so tasty. My husband had prawns and really enjoyed them. Beef in black bean was very good. A place worth visiting if in Westport.. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Prices are a bit higher than Kildare. When on holidays have a Chinese you won't regret it.

12/05/2026: Don't no how someone can class this as best food in a town ya must not bo how to cook yourself food is rubbish Frozen food from Aldi that's cooked up would not recommend your better with sandwich out of tesceo I think all the good reviews is people that nose the man that owns it because someone with a taste bud would not eat in this place

05/08/2026: What has happened to this place? It used to be nice now it's a toilet. Filthy floors, tables not cleaned and staff who couldn't care any less. We used to come here regularly but this is our last visit. Simply awful.

29/07/2026: They need floor staff, tables full of cups etc. Also free tables are dirty need a wipe. And it's gone 2.30pm not busy. The teacake I got was rock hard, changed to a scone, and staff didn't care.

01/06/2026: Had food here on a number of occasions ans always packed out the door. Can definitely see why the food has always been fabulous when we've ordered and staff were so friendly too.

09/04/2026: God cod goujons, a cod fillet meal and kids chicken tender meal. Huge portions. Food was beautiful, fish cooked to perfection, all hot and very fresh. Great service. Would recommend

08/05/2026: Didn’t feel wanted there. Went here for my first time recently and was not impressed. The staff weren’t welcoming and made you feel like you were a problem. Especially the and I hate to make assumptions but the American girl made you feel uncomfortable and we’re wanted gone. Spoke in a un catering voice. The food I would said was well over priced and dissatisfying. I got the whole grain foot long with cheese ham and tikka masala chicken. I could only taste the stale bread!! After this visit it will definitely be my last.

07/05/2026: The woman working at 4 o’clock was very rude and was even wearing earphones while I was ordering which I thought was very unsociable and felt like I wasn’t even being listened to

13/08/2026: Hands down my worst restaurant experience yet. The food lacked flavor—the soup was literally spicy water with veggies—and the server’s poor attitude made it even worse.

13/08/2026: Delicious Indian restaurant with good portions and various spice levels for the dishes.

15/07/2026: Every type of food. Burgers, kebabs, fish, steak & kidney pie, pizza. Real old school chipper.

15/08/2026: Terrible service, dirty, no where near as good since change over, avoid at all costs.

08/06/2026: Sophia is just amazing in there, so friendly and kind. I had a very moody and tired toddler who didn’t know what ice cream he wanted, she was so good with him and he was then able to pick one. She was so patient and friendly though out the whole interaction. What an asset to the place :)

30/06/2026: Food here is quite overpriced, portions are small as hell, go out as far as Balina, get some stuff from like The Lantern, Julan Julan, ect and you will get the same priced stuff that could last you 2 full meals. It is actually ridiculous. I've even heard the potential of getting some people sick from my own family members! I'm glad I haven't yet but it's a shame. The food is nice enough but they could do better on portions. Also staff can be quite rude, to my mother and grandmother made us walk back upto our house to get a around a single euro or 2 of missing change Update: Found a hair in my rice. Disgusting. And also are the chicken ball portions getting smaller I swear to god they are
