The best restaurants in Mayo

26/09/2026: Adorable place, probably one of the most delicious Irish breakfasts we've had in the city, and the impeccable service, everyone was very kind! Thank you!

17/08/2026: Food not good . Had to leave majority . Kitchen area does not look clean . Staff are nice and friendly . Very expensive for poor food

31/08/2026: Food wasn't great and the customer service was awful.

02/07/2026: Absolutely fantastic food. Best Chinese in Ballina. Im becoming a regular customer there. Love the food.

09/10/2026: Had a great brunch, the bacon melt special was tasty!

12/08/2026: I ordered the breakfast sambo and Never Again. The bread was rock solid. The bacon was rock solid zero taste the only thing i could actually eat was the sausage and black pudding. Food needs to be fresh this was a very bad

14/09/2026: Visited recently on way back from achill, decent shop but customer service is absolutely appalling. As a paying customer I felt unwelcome. After purchasing food I went to sit in back seating area where I was greeted by a stern frown, no smile or hello. Obnoxious man directs me to table bluntly. I notice other customers receiving same treatment. Obvious the man in question was never though any manners or trained in customer service. Very rude demeanor should receive some lessons on customer service training to carry out his ‘“job”. Let’s down the shop as till staff were very pleasant

12/09/2026: Parked here at Casey’s in castlebar got food and was informed that the manger Peter had told a member of staff to get my car gone, I didn’t realise you can’t park at a shop when getting food in store. Highly unprofessional to overhear in the shop considering I was a paying customer and had my car there for 55 mins , I’d like to point out that there is no signs saying I can’t park in a parking space and at the back of Casey’s there is a sign saying maximum 2 hours so I didn’t over step the mark , a bit of decorum and professionalism would want to be adhered to by the manger of the store.

23/09/2026: Very good fish & chips. The chips are real fresh cut potatoes and the fish is very fresh!

15/07/2026: Every type of food. Burgers, kebabs, fish, steak & kidney pie, pizza. Real old school chipper.

09/09/2026: Delicious. The Chicken curry is simply the best, so good we keep coming back. A+++++

23/08/2026: Food was amazing. We as a family of 6 (4 kids and 2 adults) ordered a variety of dishes...including chicken, beef, prawns, duck, noodles, rice, soup. Everything was delicious. We cannot wait to come back.

17/06/2026: If you're looking for a good feed of good food, this is your place. The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious and reasonably priced.

27/05/2026: The very best dinner out I had in a very long time! I had the Killibegs Salmon with Chefs Seafood sauce. It was absolutely delicious. As I like to cook myself I had lost my faith in eating out, because I often feel I could have done better myself. But not here. We will certainly be back for more !

11/05/2026: Good. taste. Food. Good Dining Place. Kind Hearted Man -Reception

07/05/2026: Thanks for the late evening fish and chips, it was excellent food and great value for money!

27/10/2026: A pleasant place with great coffee, cakes, and cookies.

24/10/2026: Excellent staff lovely atmosphere

21/10/2026: The eating area could be cleaner. But the staff and food are great.

17/09/2026: Very friendly staff, clean, quick. I'll be back

11/08/2026: Not as good as McDonald's; they don't know how to cook fries. It's greasy. The portions are generous.

25/07/2026: Never go wrong for food here always good staff great

23/08/2026: i was being ignored by the young boy at the till and he served me very rudely by screaming at me and yanking my money from me😡😡😡😡

23/08/2026: Great spot if you’re looking for tasty, satisfying food! From their kebabs and burgers to battered sausages and their great variety of chips, there’s plenty to choose from and you really can’t go wrong. The staff are always friendly and welcoming too. A special mention to Sean on the till — an absolute lovely lad who is always helpful and makes sure my order is spot on every time. Great food, great service and definitely worth a visit!

22/04/2026: In 2012, my brother lost his life after being in a physical altercation with the security from Cox's, 2 of them asked him to leave which he did, peacefully as seen on CCTV, he tried to walk away 3 times, but you can see the security saying things to him while he was walking away, as the coroner said at the inquest, unfortunately we can't hear what they're saying, unfortunately on the third time my brother came back and that's when the "physical struggle " happened , resulting in the loss of my brothers life. I could go into more detail but I'd be here for a week. By the way, Cox's didn't have a late licence to operate that night either, unbelievable. I hope this message finds the right people, and I will never forget what happened that night and I hope it lives long in the memories of the owners and the security. ( which I doubt.) RIP paraic. ❤️

17/02/2026: I just love Cox's beautiful steak, chips and garlic mayo. Everything is fantastic. Alright service. Good atmosphere

06/09/2026: We wanted to experience Indian cuisine and we were not disappointed. The service and advice were excellent, the staff friendly and competent. The food was delicious. We would gladly return.

13/08/2026: Hands down my worst restaurant experience yet. The food lacked flavor—the soup was literally spicy water with veggies—and the server’s poor attitude made it even worse.

15/09/2026: That place is very bad not good manager very disrespectful

17/07/2026: Strong smell of sewage coming in .
