The best restaurants in Mayo

10/11/2025: A horrible end to what had been a nice weekend. We visited here on a Sunday lunchtime after a weekend in the caravan park. We had drinks the night before, but decided to grab a quick pizza before heading home. They were preparing for a private event, so we asked if we could be accommodated, sitting outside and were told absolutely. We waited 15 mins before I went on the hunt for menus, and after another 15 minutes with no service, I went inside, where a sulky waitress, whom I was clearly inconveniencing, proceeded to reluctantly take my order. When ordered, I discovered the kids' meal didn't have the dessert, so she said she would " sort it out once we had eaten". My daughter's hot dog arrived along with our side of fries that we had ordered with our pizza. No cutlery or our drinks. There was a tsp of garlic mayo with the fries, which my daughter liked, so considering the portion was so tiny, I asked for a little more. This did arrive promptly, along with the card machine, for a €1.50 charge. Asked again for cutlery. The pizza eventually arrived, long after the fries were gone, and I asked again for my husband's drinks. When the pizza was gone, I went back in and asked for a refund for the non-arrival drinks, but after no sign of either a waitress or a refund, we left. We paid €37, including one Coke, which was not received. Additionally, we paid € 1.50 for an extra teaspoon of garlic mayo. The caravan park was fine, nothing special, but I couldn't fault it apart from having to wait 20 minutes for someone to come back to check in. I spent the whole meal in and out chasing menus, ordering drinks, and cutlery. etc - whole thing took over an hour despite no one else eating at the time - If they had just said that they were completely preoccupied with the later event, we could have gone somewhere that actually wanted us there. What the website doesn't make clear is that once you roll past Sept 1st, it's off-season and lots of things are closed , fewer choices of eating, etc.

14/07/2025: Lovely girls working here. Charming service. Great food. Fish and chips was massive. Great crispy fries. Good wood fired pizza. The atmosphere is cute and historic. Peaceful and pretty.

12/07/2025: We called in here for tea while in the town. Service was good and friendly. The tea and snacks were nice. Good quality.

31/05/2025: Very nice atmospheric cafe, service at the highest level, the kitchen is very clean, everything is fresh and tasty, perfect for breakfast or lunch, the service was fast, and finally, the coffee is simply incredibly delicious

09/01/2026: We ordered at 6:00 PM, with a delivery time of 25 to 45 minutes indicated. The food didn't arrive until 90 minutes later. When I called to inquire after the long wait, I was treated extremely rudely and disrespectfully. To make matters worse, the food was almost cold upon delivery and had to be heated in the microwave. Very disappointing service – never again!

04/01/2026: We order from here quite often; we really enjoy the food. We last ate at the restaurant years ago, so I can't give a current review of the place itself.

23/12/2025: €12.30 for a cappuccino and a roll, come on people! For this money I get a proper warm meal somewhere else. You'll never see me again

29/08/2025: So good. We ordered the soup and toasted sandwich deal with a few crisps for €10 each. Seriously delicious, quick service and filling. Would definitely come back.

07/09/2025: Only popped in for a coffee (Irish). At about 10.30 am it seemed to be the only place open at the time. Friendly welcome from the staff in a pleasant environment. LP

07/09/2025: Went in for carvery today 2 adults and a baby .food was v v poor won't ever be going back first and last visit won't lie haven't felt great since and either has my partner.

28/09/2025: I had fish and chips here recently and ate every scrap. Really enjoyed it. I will be back in Claremorris soon and will return to there. Thanks.

26/04/2025: Absolute cat, fish is pre cooked then recooked and tastes like leather, chips are bad also.

13/08/2025: Been here a few times, but last night's last minute kabab sensual and saucy 🤌🏽💯 hit that g-ood spot!! Currys are very tastey also.

14/12/2025: Absolute chaos this evening- of took 35minutes to get our order- and staff had to check what we wanted. Friends arrived after us and were served first - accept for ice cream- which they had to go and ask for. Disaster

27/01/2026: Excellent as always reasonably priced, great staff, toilets 🚻 really clean, only downer is it's cold in there , thankyou to all staff 😀

26/01/2026: Nice spot, would advise eating in to enjoy the quality of the food properly, got take away and wat in there now and the take away doesn't travel for more than 10mins. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Busy spot at on a weekend night so reserve a table if you really need one

29/07/2025: We had such a lovely evening here with old friends. The food was spectacular. My friends all had seafood which was incredibly fresh and delicious, while I opted for what was the best pizza I have ever had outside of Italy! Could not recommend highly enough.

25/07/2025: Great service by Eve & Excellent food by Orla - Seafood medley was delicious, mussels starter plentiful & pizza fully loaded - wine menu good & our 8 year old Granddaughter had a visit with the cats on the Patio - hope to get back soon again - Thanks so much 🙏🏻💚❤️

06/02/2026: I would go as far as to say their pizzas are the best we’ve ever eaten and that includes pizzas in Italy. Lovely thin crust base and unlike other pizzas you don’t feel bloated after . 11/12 euro for a large pizza is unreal
