05/06/2025: This is now a regular point during our pilgrimage to Achill and Westport. Dimple cakes tea and great lunches. Good fayre.

25/02/2025: I just do not get this place. We ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips. We waited an eternity, as they were busy. They put both orders in brown bags. When we came to eat them, the chips were mush. You could not eat them. If you tried to use a fork, they broke in half. They had not been fried in hot enough fat nor blanched to make them crispy. Putting them in bags makes them steam. The fish was total mush. The batter had disintegrated into the chips, and it just made the chips even more sodden. It was the worst piece of fish we have ever eaten. The bit I don't get, why is it busy? We will never come back.

09/03/2025: The bar food was lovely and had a great menu. We ended up going there three times; however, every time we went there, and this happened to every other table as well, the food always arrived before any drinks. Had to ask for water and where our drinks were. It took about 10 mins for the food to come out, which is brilliant; however, 10 mins after the food arrived, still no drinks. Had to ask staff every time for the drinks. I wouldn't say anything if this only happened once, but every time we visited, this happened; it also happened to every other table.

08/06/2025: Le Patisseria Di Angelo is one of those places that’s already humming with life before you even get through the door. My friend and I dropped in for lunch and both went for the Caesar salad, because we are women of taste and routine. The salads arrived promptly, generously portioned and looking the part. The sauce was creamy with a decent zing — maybe a little too tangy for my own taste, but still very enjoyable. Between the crunchy croutons, crispy bacon, and heaps of romaine, it was a very respectable Caesar. The real highlight was the atmosphere. It’s a busy spot with a kind of friendly chaos that makes you feel like you’ve been cast in the lunchtime version of an Italian drama set in Mayo. My friend and I had a ball — laughing away and soaking up the vibe like two hens let loose from the coop. In fact, we were enjoying ourselves so much — laughing, chatting, fully living our best lunchtime lives — unless you count me nearly inhaling a crouton mid-laugh — a very dramatic lunch exit narrowly avoided). A worthy way to go, really. Special shoutout to the young waitress and waiter who looked after us — both were professional, kind, and actually seemed to like people, which feels increasingly rare in this economy. Their service was impeccable — unlike certain other nearby venues.... As for the bill? A cool €30 for two Caesar salads — now that’s value for money. So if you’re looking for lunch with great service, a vibrant vibe, and a mild chance of crouton-related injury, Le Patisseria Di Angelo is well worth a visit.

25/05/2025: Ordered the "full Irish" and received less than you would expect to see on a mini breakfast. €13 for ONE rasher, ONE egg, TWO miniature sausages, ONE piece of white pudding, ONE piece of black pudding, little more than a spoonful of beans and no mushrooms. Didnt get the tea that was supposed to come with it either. Only giving one star as it won't allow me to give no stars.

22/06/2025: Fantastic pizza, best I've had in a while (I had the Hawaiian). Lovely thin base, nice-sized and nicely cooked pizza with generous toppings, reasonably priced, and prompt, friendly service. What's not to love? I also love the idea of having a pizza place in a disused bus: I wish there were more quirky food trucks out the Quay in Westport, but, for now, I'm very glad the Pizza Stromboli is there! Can't wait to go back again.

24/04/2025: Spend my sunset eating at Stramboli pizza and chatting with Them was such an amazing time. The best pizza in Westport so far. Really loved it. I can’t recommend it enough. Just go and try, and get a pint at the pub beside meanwhile you wait the pizza. 🍕😋😋😋😋 Thanks for the amazing food

20/10/2024: Standard chipper. Being the only chipper around for miles they have potential to be so much better. Right beside the camp site so easy access from there and the beach. Super busy, but that’s because it’s the only takeaway place around.

14/09/2024: We were on holiday for a week on Achill and went on a search for the best food on the island. Once we tried The Islander, everyone in the family just wanted to go back again and again. And you can! The menu has so much variety, we could have spent a month there trying new things. One of our favourites was Alex's Argentine Beef Burger - Alex, you're a genius. So, the food's great, it's great value for money and service is fast and friendly. If the owners ever fancy expanding the business towards Ulster, you’ve already got eager customers waiting in Monaghan!!
