The best restaurants in Mayo

08/03/2025: The worse supermacs I've had chicken breast was grizzly and bland tasting and at nearly 15 euros it's just a burger meal better to have gone in a local pub for a proper cooked meal didn't complain as I never do as I worked in a restaurant for a couple of years and if any customers returned their food well put it this way the chef was not happy I did actually report the restaurant for what was happening which closed the restaurant until new staff were employed so I never complain and return my food if I have a bad meal experience. And this supermacs was a bad experience

02/05/2025: We had originally only booked for one night but extended another night as this was such a great place and value for this price. The room was quite big with nice wooden furniture and sea view. The pub underneath equivalently also had a lovely view while sitting on the terrace, very friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. If we’re ever in the area again, this will be on the list :)

25/04/2025: We spend two nights here. The rooms are very nice, super clean and quite big, great view. We also had dinners and drinks in the pub, the service was excellent and the food was very, very, very good…from pasta to steak, everything is delicious. The view from the terrace is also stunning.

26/04/2025: Absolute cat, fish is pre cooked then recooked and tastes like leather, chips are bad also.

27/04/2025: Pints are lovely here. Guinness was one of the best on the Island and I've drank in every spot on Achill. Good craic on the wknd with a pool table (€2 per game), big screen for matches, well stocked bar with very good service, always a good crowd and you can't beat it when there is live music.

15/03/2025: Excellent food and very friendly efficient service. We've had takeaways from them several times before but this was the first time we actually ate at the restaurant. We will be back.

25/05/2025: Ordered the "full Irish" and received less than you would expect to see on a mini breakfast. €13 for ONE rasher, ONE egg, TWO miniature sausages, ONE piece of white pudding, ONE piece of black pudding, little more than a spoonful of beans and no mushrooms. Didnt get the tea that was supposed to come with it either. Only giving one star as it won't allow me to give no stars.

10/05/2025: Absolutely Delightful Experience! My son and I visited La Patisserie Di Angelo two days ago, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The service was attentive and friendly throughout. The food was simply amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We were also pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. A wonderful place to enjoy delicious treats with great service. Highly recommended!

01/04/2025: This is a wonderful place where you can enjoy a delicious snack, sip a cup of aromatic tea or coffee, and leave with a great mood! ☕😊 The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I would especially like to mention **Alanna and Niamh Rebekah** – they are true professionals who always do their best to make every guest feel welcome and comfortable. 30/03/2025: Stayed here Saturday 29th March, 2025. Restaurant in the bar is poor, too many staff hanging around chatting. One girl did no actual work for the evening, just chatted to her colleagues and did a few laps about the place. Asked for a wine menu, but none exists. It really wouldn't take much to put one together guys. I had the chicken wings for starters and asked for the hot sauce. When they arrived they were black, I'd say they were originally cooked hours earlier and left under lmao to keep warm. A dha of hot sauce on the base of the plate under the wings. Easily the worst I've ever had. Chicken burger for main course was fine. We also had the steak sandwich, we weren't asked how we like our steak cooked. It was crucified, tough and chewy. Served with no side of peppercorn sauce, which you come to expect with steak sandwiches. We couldn't get out of there fast enough, and couldn't bring ourselves to tip. We weren't asked how was everything either, the floodgates would have opened if we had been! The room was in a very poor state (room 24). Tired worn furniture, bed you sink through, and an awful throw on it full of pilling. The bathroom was a disgrace, the shower curtain had black mould, and the pile it hung from was rusted through from one end to the other. Price, location and breakfast were the best things about the place. We won't be back.

01/05/2025: The "irish McDonald's". Typical fast food franchise, not bad, not good, but definitely a special, characteristic part of Ireland, and the irish culinary culture. 4 star because its fast food - very tasty but in a high amount its unhealthy.

06/04/2025: Ordered 1 burger and 1 chicken tenders meal. Food as expected. Chicken tenders freshly cooked👍 but service was very slow. Thought they had forgotten our order as others came in after us, ordered and were half way through their meal by time we got ours. Had to go ask about it....which is disappointing
