15/07/2026: Great pub always a good atmosphere, great service and a smashing pint.

31/03/2026: Had a wonderful experience in this little gem. It's exceptional, with a relaxing atmosphere and pleasant staff and clients. A quality example of an old Irish country shop pub. Often imitated but never replicated. Lovely Guinness and pristine bathrooms. 12/10. Can't wait to return.

18/08/2026: Our favorite hangout, which we look forward to returning to at the end of each day after our walks in North Mayo. A great pub with a pool table and darts, good music 🎶, a warm welcome, and a really friendly atmosphere.

26/06/2025: I ordered chips and salad. The salad was fresh and tasty but the portion is small. Chips portion is large. The restaurant accept cards and cash which is very good. The staff was polite. The price of the food is expensive.

21/04/2025: I was very disappointed in this restaurant, my Grandad asked for a breast of chicken and what was given to them I wouldn't feed to the dog, it was rock hard and shrivelled, the chips were burnt, the bill came up to nearly €70 for four dinners and tea, I will never be back.

18/04/2025: Very disappointing. Ordered a salad explaining I had train to catch while the other 5 in my party were still browsing the menu. The other 5 meals came out BEFORE my ordered salad despite the fact the waitress said she had put in salad order on its own first. Then , after eating a mediocre expensive meal only to be told at the payment desk that the ‘Butter chicken marsala‘ was €3 extra on top of the bill because it had chicken in it!! Despite the bill that we were handed charging us €21.00 for the Marsala the guy at the till argued that there was an astra fee for chicken in this chicken dish. Very arrogant and not very hospitable staff. Will not return

29/12/2024: On a recommendation we visited the Brehon Bar for the seafood chowder. Unfortunately John Durkan mustn't have been fishing that day as his famous chowder was lacking it's main component,fish! A bowl of milky fish water with a couple of slithers of the side of a fish does not constitute a famous chowder also priced at €13.50 which I wouldn't have minded paying if only it had some substance and flavour. Besides that service and ambience great!

19/02/2025: This is a lovely cafe. It was recommended by a friend. Firstly the staff are so welcoming and attentive. Nothing seems too much trouble. Food was lovely and reasonably priced and their coffee is amazing. A gem.
