The best restaurantsof seafood

12/06/2026: Perfect oysters and excellent main courses. A good glass of wine to go with it and we were in heaven. Highly recommended. What we didn't know is that you should reserve a table; otherwise, you'll end up at the bar, where you either eat or wait for a free table.

23/05/2026: Popped in this evening, hoping there would be a table, and, luckily there was. The service was fantastic, felt relaxed, looked after and comfortable. The tall Irish fella with the glasses was excellent on the front of house, looked after me and the food was unbelievable. The colcannon potatoes were next level and the white chocolate desert was the best desert I’ve ever had, would definitely recommend.

02/05/2026: From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and friendly, and it set the tone for a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service throughout was attentive without being intrusive. We left feeling genuinely well looked after. Can’t wait to return—highly recommend this restaurant

01/05/2026: We walked in on a Friday night around 8pm. I was afraid at first that we wouldn't get a table without reservations. But, they found a table for us upstairs. The bathrooms are also upstairs btw. We ordered the soup of the day which was French Onion. It would have been a perfect 10 out of 10 if they would have actually put some cheese on top. It tasted amazing...deep and rich beef and onion flavor. But, I wanted the cheese I'm used to. The Wagyu Beef burger and fries was great(although the bacon on it was kind of sad...it looked cold and precooked that had been just sitting there). As was the Seafood Linguini. It was a generous portion with lots of different kinds of seafood. The service was prompt and friendly. We were too full to order dessert but I'm sure it would be delicious! Thank you!

04/06/2026: Had an amazing meal here tonight. Not my first time either. Every time I’ve visited I’ve left both full and impressed! Delicious food with lovely accompanying sauces and garnish. Desserts are top notch too. Service excellent 😊

14/06/2026: We had starters and mains and everything was so fresh and delicious. Our waiter Bogdan was very attentive and recommended dishes when we asked his opinion, he really took good care of us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

14/06/2026: Food was excellent, service was great. Had the specials halibut & prawns in tomato and feta sauce both were great. Shared a banofi dessert which was fab, a nice small portion and very tasty. We'll be back! Would highly recommend.

04/06/2026: Super dog friendly both in accommodation and dining/bar areas. Food, drinks, staff and cleanliness were all amazing. Only note is a dressing table would be a great addition to the bedroom.

03/06/2026: Understaffed during a Monday evening, so they had to work very hard, but did so, to their credit, with smiles on their faces. The fish and chips and burger were very good. We stayed here on recommendation and because of that didn't do our normal research, regretfully not reading the Salty Dog's small print so were surprised when told they did not serve breakfasts on Mondays and Tuesdays and the pub was completely closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Location is great if you want to visit Ballycotton, however I recommend you do so on a weekend. On Mondays and Tuesdays everywhere else in the village is shut. Our room was pretty small and hot in the unexpected May warmth - which, I guess, we shouldn't complain about. The noise from the air conditioner outside the window was intrusive and sadly this unit was not for the room... On the plus side the room had a great view of the lighthouse. To summarise: good place for a pub meal meal but less so to stay. Addition: we checked out after only 1 of the 3 nights we booked and to their credit they have refunded us.

10/04/2026: Was spot on. Got surf & turf, was so good. Took 6 days to find good food. Staff was so nice, if your late dinning do a reservation. We are from Texas and steaks are everywhere. It's nice to get a steak that's remind me of home.

10/06/2026: What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Outstanding food (and I mean outstanding) beautifully stylish and comfortable bedroom (we had a sea view room). The helpfulness and friendliness , not to mention the competence, of all the staff was the best we have encountered in the last twelve months in three continents! Well done to all at the Doonmore hotel, to owners Andrew and Donna, what truly lovely genuine hosts you were. Wishing you all many more years of success.

10/06/2026: this gem of a place we continue to return to. Super location, staff, facilities... just all in all good all round. Cannot recommend highly enough.... and it was raining the last time we were there but still wonderful. The team are so warm and welcoming, just like the island.
