21/02/2026: We had a great meal at Goldie. An early dinner slot made for a quiet relaxing experience. In the background one can see and hear the constant thrum of the team at work in the open kitchen. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. Both the pan fried Megrim and John Dory were exceptional. The highlight was the Rossmore Rock Oyster Pate starter - in truth we'd never come across oyster pate previously but it was Wow. A must have. We were pointed at an excellent Portuguese white wine (made from the Arinto grape). By way of constructive feedback - I understand the need for restaurants to maximise returns from the wine list. I bought a case of the same wine for €13 per bottle all taxes and delivery included. Goldie charged €47 before service charge. That is quite a markup, and was one of the cheapest wines on the list. Putting that minor quibble aside we had a very pleasant evening and will return. Highly recommended.

14/02/2026: What a gem. This is some of the best food we experienced in Ireland. It is a small, intimate restaurant with a small and uncomplicated menu. The quality and flavor of the food is exceptional. The staff were so friendly and helpfull. Coming from Cape Town, we have fairly high expectations when it comes to flavor and quality, and Ard Bia definitely did not disappoint. If you find yourself in Galway, do yourself a favor and dine at this intimate and unassuming little restaurant.

12/02/2026: This is an amazing find just by Spanish Arch. There is a lovely welcome and the atmosphere is calm and cosy. The staff are a attentive but not overly. The menu was interesting and whet the appetite, but the food, unfortunately, wasn't as great as one hoped - a little disappointing in fact. I will go back though

23/02/2026: Omg this place is absolutely beautiful. I went for my 50th birthday and it was fabulous. I had wings and the burger. The wine was fabulous and we had a cocktail after. My hubbie had the croquettes and burger which he loved so did my son. My other fussy son had spag bol. He licked the plate clean. We were served by the lovely Rinelle (hope I got the spelling right) she was an absolutely fabulous lady and brilliant at her job. They brought me out ice cream and sang happy birthday to me. 10 out of 10 this place is. Highly recommended. Thank you Rinelle for making my birthday so fantastic

24/02/2026: Been here a few times before and it was lovely. This time though I just stopped to get some chips. There were two people ahead of me when I was ordering. Unfortunately, this time the chips were bland and crunchy. And the wait time seemed much longer than was necessary for some chips! Also, €4 for a small chips was way too expensive!

27/02/2026: If you’re anywhere around the northwest and haven’t called into Stoked Strandhill, you’re seriously missing out. From the moment you walk in, there’s a great atmosphere, relaxed, welcoming and stylish without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. The tapas-style plates are exceptional. The quality of the food and the produce they use really stands out. Every dish is packed with flavour, thoughtfully put together and perfect for sharing. It’s a menu that encourages you to order a few plates for the table and enjoy the experience at your own pace. The service is next to none. Shane and Angie run a fantastic operation and it shows. They’re hands-on, professional and make everyone feel genuinely looked after. You can tell there’s real pride behind what they’ve built. It’s easily one of the top spots around and a must-visit if you’re in the northwest. Highly, highly recommended

08/02/2026: Had a lovely time today at Hemmingways. Second visit in a month since I first discovered the place and can’t wait to go again and again. I mean, the food is phenomenal, the host is near perfect, and the quiet atmosphere was great! Almost forgot to mention: the seafood medley you see in the photo was beyond great! Whatever magic goes into the sauce, keep doing it!

05/03/2026: A friend and I came for brunch after a lovely long walk up to Roman island beach. Hunger truly is the best sauce. The food was beautiful. They have a gluten free menu and can cater for coeliacs. As a former barista I can say that the coffee was absolutely wonderful. All in all, a simply delightful and delectable experience.

13/10/2025: Your shack was one of the most highly recommended spots in Killybegs when we were planning our Donegal trip and it definitely lived up to the hype! Our first visit after a walk at Slieve League was fantastic. Fresh, hot and affordable seafood, enjoyed with the kids and the lovely bay breeze. Then we showed up with our parents and again and again you were always at the same level. Hope you will keep going and do your best homework during these days and open up with new spot even better and more exciting.

10/10/2025: Ordered 2x seafood boxes. Very good food, but could improve their way of cooking the chips. Chips were hard after a couple of minutes of receiving the food.

22/12/2025: We're a large party with a lot of different food and drink orders. Portions were generous and the food was wonderful! You can't get fresher fish or mussels. Much better than in America. Friendly and welcoming, this is a great little spot!
