01/01/2025: We had the most wonderful meal on New Year’s Eve at Bodega. The food was exceptional, a lovely menu with plenty of options and nice to see slightly different choices. Everything we chose was delicious - from the monkfish scampi, venison croquettes, pork belly, pasta to the Black Forest trifle. 10/10 would recommend!

14/11/2024: Loved this little place! So much character, I loved the history and the cozy atmosphere. Felt great to get in out of the cold. The food was excellent. We're vegetarians and Fergus and his staff made a wonderful meal - couscous stuffed aubergine with many delicious sides and veggies, and we had spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli, again with delicious sides. We also had the soup of the day, piping hot vegetables with fresh breads.

01/12/2024: Had a wonderful meal in Goldie tonight. Did you know their menu changes every day depending what fish are caught that morning! Food was simply amazing and the service was excellent to match. Before we ate we were given a detailed overview of the menu by one of the staff….this was incredibly helpful as it focused on describing some of the freshly made sauces that come with each dish. This whetted our appetite and I was ready to order each and every dish there and then! We started with some Taiwanese fish nuggets and some Sesame furikake crisps with a ranch dip. Then we both had spiced salt fish cakes accompanied by a very light and tasty lemongrass curry sauce. For the mains we went with Monkfish pan roasted with a beetroot achar and a green tomato katkut. Combined, this was quite a light but incredibly tasty curried flavour. The fish was presented as 4 chunky pieces…both flaky and filling. I had the pan roasted plaice with roast celeriac in a chicken and miso butter sauce…so scrummy. I honestly wanted to lick the plate! To finish we had the panacotta and I had a cream blue cheese on slices of the most amazing bread…fabulous texture to the cheese and not heavy at all. All waged down with some sparkling water…I was driving however my better half had a glass of Portuguese white wine… very nice. Total cost €130….not cheap but given the quality of food and the incredible service….worth every penny! Highly recommended.

01/11/2024: Been a few times over the years which have been fantastic. However this time wasn't great since they moved location. Chips clearly frozen, fish ok but scamp was tough. Not sure what happened this time

29/10/2024: Very disappointed after hearing all the hype about this place, fish and chips were not great batter not nice ,scampi was the worst I've ever had in my life ,only ate two pieces as it was like chewing rubber it was completely disgusting and was clearly overlooked .Won't be trying again.

30/12/2024: I was determined to eat Colcannon(mashed potatoes,cabbage and kale) while we visited Ireland and since i couldnt find it anywhere in Limerick,i got lucky finding it at Gallagher's Boxty House in the Temple Bar District of Dublin. We were greeted by the fun wait staff immediately and we made friends with our neighboring table of traveling Germans who were excited to try the local food as well. The restaurant serves their own brewed beer,which was sooo good. We had the Irish Corned Beef,Colcannon,atlantic seafood chowder and treacle bread. Definitely coming back on our next Dublin vacation.

11/01/2025: Local restaurant. Mainly fish but some dishes for those who aren't fish lovers. Fast efficient service. The staff are really nice. Mid week you will get a table but may have to book on weekends. They also have a takeaway menu . That's nice if you fancy a really tasty take away of good food.

04/01/2025: Exceptional experience. We had set menu early bird in the bar. Staff extremely welcoming, chatty and we felt so well looked after. Food was outstanding, innovative and super tasty. We sent spotless plates back after each course. We only booked on the day and I noted I was veggie. The chef had already figured what he was going to offer, before we got there, all off menu and divine. Added bonus was bar was covered in historical photos and memorabilia of the Ballycotton lifeboat, which was so interested to see. Cannot recommend highly enough.

04/12/2024: Food was great, beautifully presented, maybe slightly over seasoned. (Too much salt) Waitress was top class. Restaurant is nicely decorated and there is also a bar in there. Lovely place for a walk afterwards if the weather is nice. Bit expensive but nice to treat yourself too sometimes. Menu was a bit limited but what was on it and what we had was very tasty.
