15/01/2025: We had made a reservation at this lovely restaurant for our one night in Kenmare. We were seated on time upstairs , which was a quiet and cozy room with only a few tables. The wine selection was good and we had a wonderful meal, easily the best meal we had on our entire 10 days in Ireland. We started with the pear, pecan and blue cheese salad, a nice portion, easily split for two people with just the right amount of dressing. The Mancini balls with goat cheese were very tasty. Our meals were delicious , the hake with potatoes and leeks and the lamb ragu. All of it was outstanding. However, the service was terrible. Our waitress, Emily, was impatient and rude. We asked a few questions as it was our first time dining here and wanted a few moments to look at the menu. She rolled her eyes at us the first time and the second time when she returned with our water when we had a question about the wine. When we asked if we were bothering her, she said no but proceeded to ignore our table the rest of the evening , notably chatting and serving other tables nearby. We are not difficult patrons and are very engaging and gracious to those that work hard in restaurants. We didn't let it ruin our meal. Her lack of service was reflected in her lack of tip and we did speak to the manager on the way out when he asked us how our meal was. I would return because of the outstanding food, but ask for a different server.

12/01/2025: Number 35 is a true gem in Kenmare town. The Black Soul dish was absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Neil, the head waiter, was incredibly knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations, enhancing the whole dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and service!

27/12/2024: Delicious mixed cuisine, great service and a feast for the eyes with the local artwork. Fergus is a treat to chat with as are his lovely staff, Clare & Thomas as well as the Barry Keoghan lookalike. Treat yourselves to this village 'bohemia'.

12/01/2025: First time trying food from here and I will admit I am very disappointed. Ordered from here for takeaway on the trial weekend and after travelling from skreen the whole way out and back we realised 2 of our items were not on the bag! I understand that they were probably busy especially with them only now offering takeaways but when you pay €60 for a meal you expect to receive the entire thing. Also we were unable to pay using a voucher but no reason given as to why but I suppose as not grateful for as now I have requested a refund for the items missing. The food also was nothing to be going mad about which again for a €60 meal I would’ve expected more especially when comparing the price to portion size. All in all I was very disappointed and again I do understand that given the circumstances with it being the trial runs for takeaways they were probably under pressure but I feel like a big priority is to make sure people are getting all that they ordered especially when unless you live in strandhill you are travelling a good bit of distance to get the food in the first place

01/12/2024: Had a wonderful meal in Goldie tonight. Did you know their menu changes every day depending what fish are caught that morning! Food was simply amazing and the service was excellent to match. Before we ate we were given a detailed overview of the menu by one of the staff….this was incredibly helpful as it focused on describing some of the freshly made sauces that come with each dish. This whetted our appetite and I was ready to order each and every dish there and then! We started with some Taiwanese fish nuggets and some Sesame furikake crisps with a ranch dip. Then we both had spiced salt fish cakes accompanied by a very light and tasty lemongrass curry sauce. For the mains we went with Monkfish pan roasted with a beetroot achar and a green tomato katkut. Combined, this was quite a light but incredibly tasty curried flavour. The fish was presented as 4 chunky pieces…both flaky and filling. I had the pan roasted plaice with roast celeriac in a chicken and miso butter sauce…so scrummy. I honestly wanted to lick the plate! To finish we had the panacotta and I had a cream blue cheese on slices of the most amazing bread…fabulous texture to the cheese and not heavy at all. All waged down with some sparkling water…I was driving however my better half had a glass of Portuguese white wine… very nice. Total cost €130….not cheap but given the quality of food and the incredible service….worth every penny! Highly recommended.

13/02/2025: Hemingway’s, a small restaurant by the sea in Dublin, knows what it’s doing. You walk in, and the salt air clings to you. The place feels tight, but warm, alive with conversation. You sit down and order the chowder because that’s what you do by the sea. Then it comes. A dark, speckled bowl, full of something that doesn’t pretend to be more than it is. It’s hearty, rich, full of life. You taste it, and it’s the best chowder you’ve had in years—maybe ever. They don’t drown it in cream or overplay the spices. No, it’s simple, and that’s what makes it good. The bread on the side, soft and dense, pairs like old friends with the butter. There’s something honest about the place. They don’t overdo it because they don’t have to. Hemingway’s makes a meal that sticks with you, makes you want to come back. Maybe it’s the sea air or maybe it’s the way they know just what to put in the pot. Either way, it works.

22/01/2025: We had an amazing experience at Hemmingways today. The food was super delicious, the service outstanding and we are so happy. Can only recommend the place for exceptional sea food.

29/10/2024: Very disappointed after hearing all the hype about this place, fish and chips were not great batter not nice ,scampi was the worst I've ever had in my life ,only ate two pieces as it was like chewing rubber it was completely disgusting and was clearly overlooked .Won't be trying again.

26/01/2025: It's so good I'm writing this review as I'm just finished our meal. To start it's a beautiful comfortable restaurant with beautiful views across the harbour. Service was fantastic. But the star of the show was the food. I started with the Collatin Cheese Agnolotti in truffle butter, Jerusalem artichoke soup which was sublime. My main was Roast fillet of Wild Cod, roasted cauliflower and langoustine sauce with a side of creamy mash potato again it knocked it out of the park. The freshness of the magnificently cooked cod was to die for. Finishing with a light abd airy custard tart with blackberry sorbet. A triumph from start to finish. I can't recommend highly enough!

06/01/2025: Our second time to eat in Cush. We travelled from Dublin to eat there. The food is amazing. We couldn’t fault a thing. We stayed the night. Our room was lovely and breakfast next morning was also delicious.
