11/09/2025: Very famous place to eat oysters and seafood. There are other menu options. The cottage dates back 200+ years and has an interesting layout inside. Well worth a visit even for non bivalve lovers.

22/07/2025: Encontré este restaurante basado en opiniones de TA. Parece ser un lugar al que los lugareños van regularmente. Es pequeño. Una persona trabajando en la parte delantera de la casa y 2 cocinando en la parte trasera. Menú de envío de mariscos. Tenía la paella de sopa y marisco. Chowder era más ligero que lo que había visto en la zona (caldo y un toque o crema) llena de pescado fresco. Era un arranque ligero encantador. Mi esposa tenía el pastel de pescado que era una buena porción y cargado de pescado. Fantastic. Mi Paella fue excepcional en todos los sentidos. Mejillones, pescado, camarones, calamares y chorizo. Simplemente excepcional. La mejor paella que he probado. Mi esposa tenía la pasta de mariscos que ella disfrutaba tanto como yo disfrutaba de la Paella. Agsin, es pequeño. Disfrute del auténtico ambiente sin pretensiones. Kudos al servidor/histo/bartender. Ella es genial y se mueve.

13/09/2025: This restaurant is a real hidden gem! The focaccia was fantastic, and the meaty lasagna and the desserts were equally delicious. You could really taste the high quality of the ingredients used – it's clear that the owner cares deeply about maintaining a high standard. The staff and owner were also very friendly. We will certainly be back.

03/08/2025: Went in to use the bathroom here during the bray air festival as the public toilets had a 30 minute line. Just to get screamed at by both the Italian male and female owners at the top of their lungs in front of the whole busy cafe, I’m 7 months pregnant and he shouted at the top of his lungs at me “shame on you for using your pregnancy as an EXCUSE” over and over. Such a horrible attitude, left me shook leaving. Please don’t support this place with such a degrading attitude towards pregnant women. For the uneducated owner: 1. Pregnancy isn’t an ‘excuse’ to use the toilet when in need 2. ⁠You should never scream in the face of a pregnant woman it’s very stressful for her and baby to handle

11/07/2025: Had one of the nicest breakfasts ive ever eaten last Thursday morning in ard bia. Myself and my husband had to wait about ten minutes for a table which we didn’t mind at all as it was worth the wait. The staff were super friendly! We both really enjoyed our breakfast and coffee. Really good food bursting with flavour. I had eggs with avocado and halloumi with almond pesto on soda bread. Will definitely return.

07/09/2025: Best fish and chips! Ran the dingle half marathon and ate here twice! Got the cod and monkfish. Cod is very soft and monkfish has a more “chewy” texture. Both were absolutely delicious. Breading is perfectly crisp and chips were fantastic! Fantastic food and friendly service!

04/09/2025: This place is usually packed. I ate the fish and chips Hake and it was freshly caught too. The cook gives really big portions, he definitely doesn't cheap out.

19/08/2025: Best fish and chips in Cork. They have a outlet in Carrigaline as well. JC Lennox and catch of the day can't be beaten for fish and chips in Cork. Update after 2 years : wouldn't change it a bit. It still is a 5 star place

13/08/2025: I had my best fishnchips in Kinsale! Got a kibbling box and even the small one for 8euros was definitely filling and the tartare sauce was delish!Chips were golden&crispy and the fish was fried to perfection! Has a lovely view to enjoy your food at aswell

We started with drinks on the terrace with an amazing sea view—I enjoyed a refreshing aperitivo cocktail, while my partner had a gluten-free, alcohol-free cider (great options for different preferences!). The welcoming vibe convinced us to stay for dinner, and we’re so glad we did. This cozy fish restaurant and pub is incredibly dog-friendly—our pup was allowed inside. The staff was very nice to welcome our request to give a bit of plain cooked fish to her. They served her fresh cod in a takeaway box! They also had water bowls outside and gave her plenty of attention. The food was fantastic—my partner had the pan-fried seabass fillet (gluten-free, with baby potatoes, mushrooms, and pesto beurre blanc), and I had the cold seafood platter, both fresh and delicious. The desserts and coffee were outstanding, and the prices were fair for the quality. The atmosphere was relaxed, the sea view was gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly—to both humans and dogs! Highly recommend for a great meal in a dog-friendly setting. We’ll definitely be back! P.S. Don’t miss a post-meal walk along the coast—Ballycotton is beautiful!

05/09/2025: Had the chowder, and it was sooo good. The new space is perfect with a seated area. We got to enjoy it briefly before the dog (who was also welcomed to the space) made it clear, it was time to go. 🔊🐶.
