The best restaurants in Cork city council

12/07/2026: Not recommended if it’s lunch time and you’re vegetarian. This place came in as recommended so we went there. They were out of breakfast options (at least the vegetarian ones) and out of four items in lunch menu, not one was vegetarian. And it’s weird as it’s 2026! Having said that, the staff was good. Limited seating space and most were takeout. ----------------------------------- Response to Owner's Comment: I didn't see B&D competing with Circle K, but if that's who you're competing with, then sure! Ratings are based on overall experiences, and it's okay if you don't agree.

27/05/2026: Ham and cheese toastie is good, lots of a sweet onion relish on it. Iced mocha tastes good but the cocoa mix didn’t mix in all the way so it’s grainy.

07/01/2026: Gluten free food here is amazing. I've eaten here a few times and got something different each time. 10/10 no matter what you get.

10/08/2026: Best pint of Guinness in Cork hands down. Tom poured my pint, great guy and bartender. Great craic! What a legend!

26/08/2026: I’m a student so I’d be here often during the school year. There are tonnes of options on the menu in Green Frog, so quality varies from poor to very good in terms of drinks. Most of which being decent to very good. My favorite being the iced coffee, and my least favorite being the hot chocolate. It’s comfortable enough in there, I wouldn’t spend hours and hours studying in there, due to the lighting and foot traffic of the cafe. Overall decent, nice spot to chat with friends after class.

18/03/2026: What a great place! A pensioner sat in the corner playing 70s greatest hits on vinyl while the best locals bobbed along to the beat or watched sports. They had Beamish Stout on tap from the brewery next door. My wife practically had to drag me out of the pub. Absolutely fantastic!

29/05/2026: Superb pizza, thin crust, excellent toppings - will definitely visit again. Cold drinks not massively cold but they serve wine, have some seating, a bathroom and service is friendly. Would definitely recommend 👍

26/08/2026: We just had a coffee, but what a coffee! I tried the iced americano with a scoop of coconut lime sorbet — a special creation. I'm not usually a fan of lemon in ice cream, but this was really good. The sorbet was clearly homemade and fresh, the coffee very good too. I had the decaf version. At €5.50, totally worth it. Their drinks are really creative — iced white with pineapple and Tabasco with Cuban coffee, sweet tea with iced chai and pomegranate, Floral Green with iced matcha and elderflower. A menu you don't find everywhere. The barista was smiling, warm, and professional. Not many seats inside, better to sit down for this kind of drink. A few chairs outside. Blue front door, dark green tables, posters and photos on the walls. Very authentic and rustic — simple wooden benches, casual and friendly. It felt like mostly regulars and locals, not tourists. Groups might struggle to find space, especially at peak times or weekends, but it's worth taking away if that happens. Behind South Mall, next to Izz Café. Discreet but worth finding. A bit noisy, but we could still talk easily. Didn't try the pastries or use the toilets. I'll definitely come back. A great little café in Cork.

01/08/2026: I have never ever had a bad coffee from filter. Have been going here since they opened, and they are the most consistent for perfect coffee. Amazing job, Eoin & Alex :)

18/08/2026: I don’t know if they’re all having a bad day but the staff are absolutely miserable. Could barely speak or look at me. Coffee and brownie were good but its ruins your palate when served with such rudeness.

28/06/2026: We chose this hotel for our wedding reception. We couldn't have been happier than this. The staff, venue, food was amazing from planning to accommodate our wishes. The guests and we were extremely happy and satisfied. We spent a lovely afternoon and we'll cherish these memories forever.

14/06/2026: Avoid if you can. This is below "no frills". No A/C in all rooms. No hair dryer. No refrigerator. No coffee machine. A small room with a small TV. Bathroom is functional and well stocked.
