The best restaurants in Cork city council

01/08/2025: We went CJ Lennox in Midleton. I am a coeliac and as they had Gluten Free options on website i called in. They had a seperate fryer for chips. I had a gluten free pizza and chips it was hands down the best one i have had since my diagnosis. My children had burgers, chips and chicken gougons. Portions were big and the food was lovely.

15/08/2025: I have no idea why there is so much hype about here. Me and my partner are both visually impaired. This is the worst bar in Cork for extreme lighting at the bar. I couldn't even get served in here and was ignored by the bar staff who served a girl who was standing behind me who came to the bar after me. I don't fund ableist businesses like this one.

21/07/2025: A little discovery. The terrace is directly above the Lee and pleasantly quiet. The sandwich was delicious. Friendly service. The ambiance has a vintage charm.

13/08/2025: I was walking, craving coffee (I’m Italian) and I was so much attracted by the smell coming out of the shop I turned back on my steps (like in the cartoons). Amazing place and very hot baristas ✨

05/08/2025: Finally, a real Irish pub, off the beaten path, stumbled upon by chance. The Guinness was the best and cheapest of all the ones I've tried after five in Dublin and Cork. It's a shame you can't eat there, otherwise we would have stayed all night.

03/08/2025: After getting a bit lost on the way out of the island in central Cork, wandering through the narrow streets, you find this completely authentic little pub. No colorful lights. Drinks are cheaper than usual in the area and well served. Pints of beer are less than €5.

18/07/2025: After having a great experience at Marina, I decided to visit Stew Store at Douglas Mall whilst shopping there.The service was quick, the taste consistent and here Iabsolutely loved the stir fry chicken.

09/08/2025: Hidden gem for me. Living in Cork 43 years and only found it recently! Staff so nice and customers so friendly even though im a blow in from the north side! Ill keep going back there! Great night was had by all!!

07/07/2025: So I'm a deep west cork native (beara) but I used to call into this bar to play pool anytime I was in the city seeing friends after I dropped out of college in 2012 . Always welcomed , even given free pool 1 day when I changed a 10er for 1 euro coins to play on my own to practice. Roll on the years it's been my local for about the last 6 or 7 years as I've lived in the city . Maybe a little biased but seriously , the best bar I've ever come across , the locals , now friends , are welcoming to newcomers , it's a city pub so the banter and messing is great , I play darts to a decent level so I joined the team and am still there , now I play for the pool team also . The atmosphere is friendly and inviting , if your looking for sports , this is the place , so many screens , different games on each depending on what people want . 2 pool tables , 8 darts boards , poker nights on Thursday , never any trouble either . If you want to sit in peace at a table and have your own space no problem either . And lastly the staff , absolute gems , couldn't be more welcoming and friendly , they quickly become friends . It's like walking into your sitting room with a fire on , you can engage or chill and enjoy . Hands down my favourite bar in the city ❤️ they accommodate music , events , supporters clubs , music every Sunday night . No 1 in cork 💯👌🏼

28/08/2025: The place is really cool, the staff is very polite, and the service is impeccable. Jonathas gave us excellent service; he was very polite and attentive. I loved everything! I'll definitely be back.

29/08/2025: Beamish! Neat mural, nice street. We were there on a Saturday midday and kids were playing all around the streets (traffic was shut off). It was lovely!

11/08/2025: Please avoid and spend your money elsewhere Before we ordered our last drink we asked the bartender how much drinking up time is allowed and his reply was 30 minutes so we ordered a pint Within 10:Minutes We were been harassed by 3 bouncers I told him politely I was informed I had 30 minutes as the bartender had told me before I ordered my beer. I even asked for a plastic container if they wanted to close early but NO ,Obey the law and be fair , The other negative reviews reflect the same opinions so it’s actually genuine Maybe we will send some undercover gardai to investigate this and your other bars I would appreciate a reply to this review as we are not letting this go . We will send in different people with cameras to investigate your policy . Stop ripping people off

15/06/2025: Room pretty average. No sockets beside the bed. Room looked out onto the entrance to a homeless hostel which had a crowd gathered outside from about 8pm until midnight. When I complained about the noise front desk did nothing. 2 nights with very little sleep. Not good when there on business. Breakfast was average.

11/06/2025: One of the worst hotels in a long time. We had a room without a window. We looked through a glass pane into the hallway and lobby. To our surprise, the breakfast was even worse. On the positive side, the room was basically clean and everything was there. Just no fresh air.

15/08/2025: Hi team want to thankyou for an amazing experience. My first time in Ireland and your hospitality was without a doubt best in class. The ladies serving always with a smile and polite. Had a Irish breakfast which had an amazing slice of black pudding which sent me to the moon and back. Keep up the good work. To all of you who read my review you will not regret walking in to De Barras. Thankyou.

08/09/2025: The Bishopstown Bar is always a favourite for our family but we had not been in a year or so and we shocked by the increase in pricing. The steak sandwiches were only okay. Nothing in particular to complain about but nothing to praise either. The scampi was a small portion but delicious! The curry was extremely delicious though adding chicken certainly raised the price. The pasta however was extremely oily, with a pool of it even visible in the photo. The garlic bread was grand and was used to try and soak up the oil. The staff were lovely, the checked on us so regularly it was almost annoying but to be fair it was a quiet night and there were not many other customers. Overall I would come back but I would avoid the pasta dishes.
