The best restaurants in Cork city council

26/09/2025: We loved to go to Dashi and it was our go-to takeaway in COVID times. I ordered for collection on a Thursday evening at 7pm, half of the sushi options were gone and the curry and udon noodle dishes (or at least parts thereof) were heated in a microwave, and it still took them 25 minutes to put the order together. The dishes lacked veggies and where mediocre at best, and I couldn't finish the seaweed salad. Very disappointed.

18/09/2025: Visited the place just for the first time, as I saw they have a lot of great reviews, and variety of options, but unfortunately were disappointed, as many of the ingredients weren’t just included. They show in the menu that the sushi has variety of ingredients, and a lot of interesting stuff like: asparagus, chive, chilli powder, and so, but unfortunately they just used instead of the asparagus the curcumber, and we had no chives or chilli powder, although we should have had😟 Also the trout sushi we had was half raw/and half cooked👀

21/06/2025: Came in for a drink tonight and was met with arrogance from barmaid she was not polite to us but was very friendly to her regulars

04/06/2025: Cozy pub with friendly service and a good beer selection. I only had a drink here.

16/12/2025: Very disappointing outcome to this place. I had high hopes given the name & reviews..... But what it appears is that the place has been taken over, kept the name but taken all the smoked food off the menu. Rather than sample what is on the menu (what appears to be a basic attempt at smoked/ pit food..... Without the smoked/ pit food) I took my business elsewhere to avoid further disappointment.

13/10/2025: You have to go looking for this smashing lounge bar. Well kept bar, lovely clientele reasonable priced beer and a smashing pint of Beamish

08/06/2025: The most slow service bar I have ever experienced.In my life.Across continents.They clearly serve locals first,even locals acknowledged it.And it was not even busy.Dont waste your time going here.I only went as at a party.The service is REALLY slow.

19/11/2025: Super bar. Came down from Belfast and a friend recommended this place - did not disappoint. Pints were great, staff were sound and I could have stayed for hours more for the music alone! Will absolutely be back again.

17/07/2025: Super place for a match, a chat, a laugh and one of the best pints of guinness in Cork! Great staff too!!

19/05/2026: Stopped by for a drink and whiskey and the following happened. We sat in the back bar and ordered two beers and wanted two Irish Whiskeys (Red Breast and Goldspot)there was none at the back bar so we went to the front bar and asked the female bartender for Red Breast or Gold Spot and in a snarky response stated, “ we don’t serve American whiskey. I guess she was not aware both whiskeys are Irish. This by far has been the least favorite pub we have visited in Ireland and I would not recommend it.

16/01/2026: Wow, I cannot recommend this place enough. I didn’t get our waitress’ name but she was blonde and she went above and beyond for us. She was so welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food was 10/10.

21/04/2026: I recently had the worse burger and chips in my life at this dis Graceful chippe I have never eaten such rubbish a handful of burnt chips a sloppy burger the meat was justb awful never again I used to go here a lot and loved the food but it's absolutely a disgrace now at john grace chipper

21/04/2026: Food is excellent and great value for money. The location is perfect and kept very clean. Service is outstanding too.

06/03/2026: The food is good but the tiny portions at an expensive price spoil the whole experience. Very very mean considering 90% of the food is vegetables.

13/02/2026: I get food from here regularly and food is always lovely and fresh but when I went to pay it was 50c more than usual and I always get the same thing. I didn’t question I just paid and looked after and I was overcharged (i checked Deliveroo as well) I know it’s only small but I have found this recently around cork places they put on these little charges hoping no one will notice and it all adds up. It’s already expensive enough without adding secret charges

08/09/2025: Really nice cafe and great deal for açai lovers. An açai bowl (that you get to pick the contents of) and ANY coffee for €12. The açai is nice but not a strong flavour so that may be a deterrent for some. Coffee is good enough and they are generous with syrup. The toastie is one of the cheapest in cork (€5.50-€6.50) and it is nice quality. The cafe is dog friendly which is great especially if you’re walking at the lough. Would recommend!

20/03/2026: came here for the "Johnny Depp Table Quiz" winner gets a free bar tab! did not disappoint! myself and my team "The Deppsters" placed third overall. Which got us two free rounds and a lego Jack Sparrow action figure! Absolutely unreal!

10/08/2025: Clean, cosy place. Staff are very friendly. Got pizzas today they were amazing! 10/10!

06/08/2025: Always incredible pizza and service. Lovely staff and cosy atmosphere. The vegan cheese is delicious too! Potatoes are ok but I’d love if they added chips to the menu. The pizza is so delicious we don’t mind though .

23/11/2025: Saying it's the worst coffee of my life is a compliment because I call it coffee.

16/11/2025: I really like the coffee and the pastries. I am in love with the lemon pie and the pistachio cone. The staff is always cheerful and polite, which makes the experience even better. The only thing I would point out is to be a bit more careful with special requests. More than once I asked for a cappuccino with oat milk and received regular milk instead. Even so, I always come back because mistakes happen and I genuinely like not only the coffee but also the people. 😊
