The best restaurants in Cork city council

15/09/2026: Had a blast coming in today looking for some snacks and drinks on my road trip. I drive a Tesla (who wouldn’t), so I didn’t need to stop at a petrol station, but I made the right decision. The manager directed me to all the options they had and I was delighted dealing with herself and the staff today. I’ll be back for more snacks for sure, gotta keep in (spherical) shape!

13/07/2026: Just want to say how amazingly helpful and kind Maria was today when my dog got loose, she went above and beyond to help as she usually does in this shop, but unfortunately the manager Victoria and her horrible attitude and the way she spoke to not only Maria but also the gardai that were called (because of the dog), the gardai and someone from an animal rescue that came to help all said how badly Victoria’s attitude was and when I got there and went inside to thank Maria, she was visibly upset, not the first time I’ve heard bad things about that particular manager, but Applegreen are very lucky to still have Maria especially when so many staff have left since Victoria became manager. Thanks again Maria

16/03/2026: Absolutely obsessed with these mini-donuts at Marina Market! They are fried to order, so they arrive hot, fresh, and delicious. The staff is super kind and the atmosphere at the market is always 10/10. A must-visit if you have a sweet tooth in Cork! 🍩🔥

24/04/2026: Great shop, wonderful selection of all things vegetarian. From wholefoods to spices and soaps. They've got the lot. If you're looking for it and it's veggie, they've most likely got it in stock.

13/07/2026: Super simple food served with a smile. My only complaint was there was was just too much of it. We went back the following night.

11/06/2026: Good value. Low prices, relaxed atmosphere. Service is good. Nice quite pub, tucked away down a lane of skehard Road. Price of the pint is excellent

12/08/2026: A good restaurant offering both traditional dishes and Asian and Italian twists. I had breaded cod with mash and vegetables, while my girlfriend had salmon and shrimp tempura. Like most Irish dishes, it was all a bit heavy, but still excellent quality. The fish was fresh and well-fried. The mash tasted a bit coconutty, which was a bit strange with cod, especially if you're used to Italian mash, but it wasn't bad. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We stopped here randomly, and honestly think it's a great place to stop on a road trip. The atmosphere was like a typical Irish diner with horse racing on TV. Not bad!

29/07/2026: Had roast beef dinner, veg and potatoes very good, beef dry, cooked for too long, staff are very helpful

12/08/2026: Food was not worth the price. 6 in group including 2 children. 10% service charge added at the end. This was not clearly highlighted and was ridiculous.

29/05/2026: We organised a 50th birthday party here. Emmet and Aoife were so helpful and accommodating, the food was absolutely delicious, the function room is a fantastic spacious venue, the bar staff were brilliant on the night I would have no problem in recommending the Mount Oval to anyone, such nice people to deal with, 👍

17/05/2026: Had to change from Guinness to Coors as it was undrinkable. The Coors that came was under filled and flat.

20/02/2026: Beautiful food in both premises, but on the two occasions I've visited Balance District I've met the same woman with an attitude. Never met her before , don't know her. Not even thank you after paying. For this reason alone, I won't be returning. She really is a dreadful person.

14/01/2026: So only for 1 or 2 waitresses that get distracted in conversation. I once waited 20 minutes for 2 take away coffees and then was giving then in a ceramic mug! After asking twice I was in a hurry so very inconvenient for me. The 2 waitresses were busy chatting behind the counter on a busy time, so disappointed at this. I never went for a take away coffee again. But go for breakfast from time to time.This place is amazing 👏 food is top 😋 the new waitress Alison is amazing great service and great at her job very efficient.

13/09/2026: Been going here a while and normally ordered a shot of espresso with ice in a to go cup so I can put a protein shake in it as my milk. Went in for one yesterday the person taking me order was extremely rude to me. I don't think I've ever ordered from them before so I do get not understanding what I was asking but they didnt ask me to clarify and snarled at me. I then got the espresso with ice in a hot cup, which was okay but also made less sense to me. I just wanted what is essential an iced americano without water added. I will continue to go as the coffee is good but this experience had shadowed my care for the place

23/08/2026: What a fab place for a party! We booked the inside/outdoor area for a small birthday party and it was the perfect venue! We booked via email with no hassle. Such a lovely spot and staff were all lovely. We didn’t have food but it looked great. Thank you

02/07/2026: We had our Summer Party here just last weekend. Just wanted to share what amazing hosts Goldbergs were to us. Food was incredible and atmosphere was second to none. Thank you to everyone at Goldbergs for making our night what is was. We will definitely be back next summer. Pat and everyone at Alpha Automation.
