24/08/2026: Using my daughters Google account but Myself and my friend Mary go to Lulus cafe every Monday and Sarah and Sophie working in Lulus couldn't be more obliging with us helpful friendly and welcoming. We enjoy our trips there and they are so helpful towards Mary aswell. Would recommend this cafe alone for the service its so friendly clean and staff are always 10/10 and lovely coffees and teas 🍵 thank you guys. Regards Joan O leary

18/10/2026: We went for Sunday lunch today, the waitress hadn’t a clue what was going on. She couldn’t answer any of my questions about the specials. To be fair the food was quick but we still hadn’t gotten drinks by the time it came (20 minutes) and we were also waiting ages to order. We had the lamb it wasn’t roasting when it came out was it was warm and I taught it was quite dry to be honest, I asked for extra gravy and the waitress forgot about it so I had to remind her when it eventually came my food had gone cold. The portion was quite big but there wasn’t much meat. It also was only a small ramekin of gravy which I thought fair enough until they charged me €1.50 for it ! Management definitely need to invest in training staff and taking more on as it was obvious they were under pressure today.

24/09/2026: I recently stopped by Dukes Cafe on Carey's Lane, and it completely exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a spot in the city center that ticks all the boxes, this is it. The coffee here is simply great—rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. They also offer a wonderful selection of tasty food with plenty of delicious options to satisfy any craving. The service is fast and efficient, perfectly complemented by a team of genuinely friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Whether you are dropping in for a quick morning caffeine fix or settling down for a bite to eat, Dukes Cafe is well worth a visit. Highly recommended!

07/10/2026: This establishment is the best restaurant in Cork or perhaps Ireland. Delicious food, amazing staff and great atmosphere every single time I dine here throughout past two decades. Highly recommend if you in the area! Manager Ana is a hospitality superstar and will make sure you will have best experience possible!

22/09/2026: Wholesome Irish Breakfast with coffee and Toast included. Pure Breakfast orange with brown bread and marmalade instead of butter which I can't eat.

15/09/2026: Tried first time today . Take away spicy chicken Ciabatta, , around 6 euro, yummy, fresh soft bread and grilled chicken with some veggies and tasty sauce, overall perfect, cafe itself is very nice to sit there, staff is lovely.

28/10/2026: Lovely coffee, service on the day I was in to be desired, 3 members of staff behind the counter, chatting, took my order, then standing around, not doing anything, took the payment for the coffee, no one making the coffee, after 10 minutes of waiting with no other customers to serve, forgot to make my coffee, all seemed a bit of an effort.

23/10/2026: Nice cafe if a little cramped inside. Parking can be a problem. Park in the tesco multi storey and walk over if the day is nice.

18/10/2026: Ye nah this is a vibe.. hits the spot. The short rib sandwich. Very easy to eat. Plenty salad and onions in the sandwich, lovely mayo, the tub of chimichurry was small but really nice. Potato’s are gorgeous! And very clean feeling after. Not overly full. I’d get it again for sure. Also got it in about 5 mins. Reallly tender piece of meat

14/10/2026: A very nice place for pizza. The pizza is tasty, and the service is wonderful, despite how busy the place was. The food arrived quite quickly and was very high quality. I highly recommend it.

03/10/2026: Unfortunately, the staff were quite rude. I moved a chair after we asked for a table outside, and was immediately met with an irritated comment from the staff: “Don’t move my furniture.” The reaction felt unnecessarily hostile and made the experience very unpleasant. Needless to say, we left immediately, and I won’t be returning, so they can take care of their furniture themselves.

10/08/2025: Visited Route Fourteen with my family for lunch. The food was great, the dining area was spacious, but I have a few points I hope can be considered to improve the service. There were two lunch menus on our visit: one standard lunch menu (same as website) and one specific for the day or week. We ordered from the second menu since they seemed seasonal and more fresh than the regular menu. The prices were similar to other gastropubs around Cork City. I ordered pork belly with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork was stuffed with walnuts and dates, a stuffing I would have never thought would taste so nice with pork. Other dishes we had were the "Smash Burger" and Reuben sandwich. We ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce for starters. Everybody enjoyed their orders but the beef in the Reuben would be better if it was not heated much. For dessert we had a mango and raspberry cheesecake and lemon meringue. Both were presented nicely and tasted amazing. They are best eaten between two people as they are large desserts. We were seated at a bright high table by the window, however we were near a large private booking and I felt a bit under pressure as the staff were setting the tables around us for the arriving diners. Given that the venue was not busy when we arrived, I would have preferred sitting further away from the large group booking. I would highly recommend visiting Route Fourteen on your next day out for lunch or dinner at a gastropub.
