Main Street Kinsale
Cork
09/09/2025: To be honest, I didn’t feel welcome here as a younger foreign visitor. The atmosphere felt very closed-off, with most of the crowd being 40–60 year old white locals or American tourists. Tourist and people are in here are friendly, however service from the bartender(maybe the owner) was unfriendly and included microaggressions that made me uncomfortable. I was deprioritised and even looked down on when served a beer. I felt quite sad when I leave here and ruined my trip in Kinsale. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you already fit that demographic.
04/09/2025: Great place for some Irish music and a pint, in a cosy pub.

Maki Sushi Rolls
Cork
12/10/2025: My favorite takeaway sushi spot, a must stop every time we visit Cork, right in the heart of the English Market. So many choices of sushi to choose. I also really loved their poke bowl. Very affordable. Highly recommended.
11/10/2025: Best sushi ever tasted, tuna roll was out of this world. Great selection, even had vegan rolls also.

JJ Walsh's
Cork
11/11/2025: We stopped for a pint and were struck by the warm and festive atmosphere. The live music is a unique touch!
The vintage items make the place truly special!
08/11/2025: I’m writing this to say that I am very disappointed by the security/ door staff. I’ve been to this pub many times as the live music is always a hit. Myself and my friends (with me being the only asian) went in yesterday around 7pm. We had no issues going in, ids checked, everything was fine, 30minutes- an hour later, me and my boyfriend decided to go and get some pizza across the way.
We came back less than 10 minutes later to a different bouncer being on the door and he refused entry with no reason. We are both over 18, with valid ids. I had left my bag and coat along with other personal belongings inside with my other friends and was told I was not allowed go retrieve them because the bouncer did “not believe we were already inside”. We ended up giving out friends a call, and they brought out stuff out and we all left. But by reading other reviews it’s clear that they are biased towards Asian people. I am very disappointed by this behaviour. Especially since it not only happened to me, but other people. It’s discriminatory behaviour.

The Glasshouse
Cork
13/10/2025: Stopped by The Glass House at the Montenotte Hotel in Cork for drinks, and it’s exactly the kind of spot you want on a sunny afternoon. The view is incredible especially if you sit outside, you can see almost the entire city, which makes for the perfect backdrop. 🌞🍹
I went with a cocktail and a small plate, and both were delightful well-made, refreshing, and perfect for a leisurely sip while taking in the view. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, it’s a great spot for drinks with a view. Nothing over the top just good drinks, stunning scenery, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Dinos Blackpool
Cork
13/09/2025: #blackpool only# I dont know where to begin. First of all I want to note this is the third strike. First time the intercom /language barrier. Got the order completely wrong and when I returned to the shop counter with my reciept I was met with very negative and unprofessional behaviour. I did receive the remaining items but it was too late because the family had eaten the food they had received. #big order bye the way? €60 +. The second time was a similar order and the food was not good whatsoever. And guess what?? Items missing yet again. This time i went back trough the drive thru and in all honesty the staff member was extremely helpful and polite. Third time and most recent to this review, agreed with my partner to go to dinos for a convenient supper as i was working later than usual. Once again we ordered a similar order to the usual but I decided to get a 3 piece snack box, In all honesty I never had chips so dehydrated and reheated in my life.chicken skin was flavoursome but the chicken was extremely poor and not nice to eat. Onion rings that were so greasy and had zero batter/crunch to them. Partner had a breast in a bun meal that usually delivers a great response and struggled to comment on how to eat it because it was so dry. Kids burger meals were eaten by my children but they also commented on the chips. And last but not least the cheese and onion pies were missing from the order. The staff member did acknowledge me at the drive thru before I said anything about it and apologised and had the pies at the ready. Just not a good experience tbh.
30/08/2025: Some fresh, proper chips and a friendly, smiley staff.

Domino's Pizza
Cork
04/09/2025: The food at Domino’s Cork was spot on, fresh, tasty, and exactly what you’d expect. The only downside was the service, which was slower than expected. Still, once the order arrived, the quality made up for the wait.
13/08/2025: I love mac and cheese, but the one from Domino’s Blackpool is honestly horrific. Not something you’d expect from Domino’s, as their food is usually always lovely. The taste and texture were really disappointing definitely not something I’d order again.

04/11/2025: Lovely pub though service can be very slow and not very friendly when the pub is busy. I waited for a drink for 40 minutes on a Saturday night. However, the atmosphere and live music are great so I guess no wonder it gets busy!

De Barra's Restaurant
Cork
19/09/2025: Put in my order of soup and brown bread, a toasted sandwich and a side order of chips.
My glass of water and cutlery arrived on a side plate which were dropped at the far side of my table, unusual I thought. A few minutes late the waitress arrived back and stretched across in front of me to place a soup spoon on my sideplate. She was holding the spoon by the bowl. More unusual I thought. My food arrived all together. This is getting ridiculous! Who serves two courses at the same time? The soup and brown bread were delicious. However, by the time I got around to eating my main course the chips were cold. The sandwich was horribly greasy. The side salad was chopped into tiny silly little pieces making it impossible for me to disgard the cucumber which I can’t abide. If I ever go back there I will only have the soup. Hopefully, in the meantime, they will train their staff.
23/08/2025: Went for breakfast. Food and service were so good that I returned for lunch the next day.

Dashi
Cork
26/09/2025: We loved to go to Dashi and it was our go-to takeaway in COVID times. I ordered for collection on a Thursday evening at 7pm, half of the sushi options were gone and the curry and udon noodle dishes (or at least parts thereof) were heated in a microwave, and it still took them 25 minutes to put the order together. The dishes lacked veggies and where mediocre at best, and I couldn't finish the seaweed salad. Very disappointed.
18/09/2025: Visited the place just for the first time, as I saw they have a lot of great reviews, and variety of options, but unfortunately were disappointed, as many of the ingredients weren’t just included.
They show in the menu that the sushi has variety of ingredients, and a lot of interesting stuff like: asparagus, chive, chilli powder, and so, but unfortunately they just used instead of the asparagus the curcumber, and we had no chives or chilli powder, although we should have had😟
Also the trout sushi we had was half raw/and half cooked👀

Jack Forde's The Shandon Arm's
Cork
05/08/2025: Finally, a real Irish pub, off the beaten path, stumbled upon by chance. The Guinness was the best and cheapest of all the ones I've tried after five in Dublin and Cork. It's a shame you can't eat there, otherwise we would have stayed all night.
03/08/2025: After getting a bit lost on the way out of the island in central Cork, wandering through the narrow streets, you find this completely authentic little pub. No colorful lights. Drinks are cheaper than usual in the area and well served. Pints of beer are less than €5.
