The best restaurants in Cork

05/10/2025: A very good pub, very well-known here in Cork. The day begins in the morning, serving coffee, breakfast, and brunch, serving food practically every day. It's a huge pub with plenty of seats and high-quality food, with a large terrace, which is where I usually go when it's sunny. The service and staff are all good. During the day, when night falls, the frisky whiskey transforms into live music at night, sometimes with DJs. Like on Saturday nights, the house is full again. A very good atmosphere, middle-aged, where everyone enjoys a good time relaxing. I highly recommend it here; you're welcomed and everything is very good.

22/09/2025: Early morning brekkie on a Sunday. Just off W. Plunkett St. Small and busy but worth queueing. Food is varied and excellent.

26/09/2025: We loved to go to Dashi and it was our go-to takeaway in COVID times. I ordered for collection on a Thursday evening at 7pm, half of the sushi options were gone and the curry and udon noodle dishes (or at least parts thereof) were heated in a microwave, and it still took them 25 minutes to put the order together. The dishes lacked veggies and where mediocre at best, and I couldn't finish the seaweed salad. Very disappointed.

18/09/2025: Visited the place just for the first time, as I saw they have a lot of great reviews, and variety of options, but unfortunately were disappointed, as many of the ingredients weren’t just included. They show in the menu that the sushi has variety of ingredients, and a lot of interesting stuff like: asparagus, chive, chilli powder, and so, but unfortunately they just used instead of the asparagus the curcumber, and we had no chives or chilli powder, although we should have had😟 Also the trout sushi we had was half raw/and half cooked👀

01/09/2025: Only takeaway cups despite having seating inside and outside. That's enough to put me off but the quality of the coffee has declined too.

16/11/2025: Consistently excellent food and service. There is a separate vegan/vegetarian menu with a range of good options.

06/09/2025: Fantastic hotel and restaurant. The food was top notch. Highly recommend this place. And you never know who you might meet

11/11/2025: Unbelievable food, the burgers were amazing and v creative. And a full feed on their own The loaded fries are also excellent but would feed 3 people in one portion Only negative is walked in to order and waited 45 mins for the food. Was orders coming in over phone, deliveroo etc and all prioritised ahead of walk ins (or that's what it felt like anyway!!) Worth it, just order in advance

09/01/2026: Superb location in City Centre; only short walk from Kent Train Station. Rooms have *generous* tea/coffee making facilities and convenient bathing showering W C. facilities. Very comfortable short stay!

18/10/2025: Polite and efficient staff. Loads of choice on their menu and plenty of good food provided. Good value for money. Spacious layout internally with loads of car parking nearby.

12/10/2025: Something about this hotel just keeps us coming back for more it’s character is just something else Spacious rooms , friendly Staff. Night porter Don is a true legend with over 20 years service The “buzz” in the hotel is fairly flat not what it used to be A bit of live music on a Saturday wouldn’t be too much to arrange , I’d also actually Love if they also moved the TVs in the bar they are in such akward locations it’s nearly a struggle to watch ! People give out about the location , too hilly etc but this is cork ? Isint it all hills ?! Walk into town is grand out and beautiful buildings to admire One thing that I have to mention is the hot breakfast. Sorry guys it just doesn’t cut the mustard and I hate to say it but I have to be honest. Rashers : that cheap kind with loads of fat and aren’t cooked enough Sausages : cheap processed sausages. Fried eggs ; there are none Bread : aldi bloomer bread for toast some homemade bread would be far nicer and it’s cheap to make . I still love the hotel , the location , the building and of course Don but don’t pay for the breakfast you will be disappointed Can’t wait for next stay already

09/10/2025: Rooms are decent with balconies but TVs need updating, remotes didnt work, even after I asked for it to be changed. Apparently theyre getting updated soon.

18/06/2025: I was genuinely shocked by what I witnessed at Gym Plus Cork in Mahon Point during my recent visit. A female member was working out in what was essentially a bikini bra and shorts so short and see-through that her private areas were clearly visible as she walked around and during squats. This level of exposure is completely inappropriate for any public gym, and it created an uncomfortable atmosphere for others, myself included. Even more disturbing was the fact that there were adolescents present at the time. In my view, this goes beyond poor judgement — it amounts to public indecency, and I believe the Gardaí should be made aware. Gym Plus urgently needs to enforce a clear and reasonable dress code to ensure a respectful, safe, and professional environment for all members, including families and young people. This kind of negligence is unacceptable.

18/11/2025: Had to stop in to see "the mural" and fish. There's a cool area out back. On that particular night... Not our crowd. So we left after one drink.
