The best restaurants in Cork

23/11/2025: Don't go here if you're hungry. Went here during the week, was met by extremely small plates, very expensive for what you get, zero presentation and little to no flavour. The place itself is lovely and has a lovely vibe, but we had to go elsewhere for food after we left. Won't ever be returning for food.

21/12/2025: Got the wrong order, when I called the shop the women was so rude it was a joke, she said she would get the food sent back when I asked how long as the chips are gonna be cold by the time my burger came she replied with “well we have to remake a new one and wait for a driver to get back from his other delivery so I can’t give you a time” the attitude and customer service was so disappointing.

27/11/2025: Staff here are always very hostile and curt in general, they are grand with their buddies and regulars but everyone else is made to feel “what are you doing here vibe” it’s borderline aggressive at times! puts me off ordering, only that I like the quality of the food! Just remember without customers (old and new) you don’t have a job!

21/12/2025: Fabulous place in Cork. Our waiter could not have been nicer, the food was delicious & the restaurant was beautiful. It’s a hidden gem & we will definitely be back!!!

23/11/2025: I had a very disappointing experience at Sultan Café in Cork. The staff member who served us was rude and arrogant throughout our visit, and his behaviour felt unwelcoming and borderline discriminatory. Definitely not the kind of treatment any customer deserves. Thanks for the response — it actually proves my point better than my review ever could. Telling customers ‘do not come back again’ is shocking behaviour for a café operating in Ireland, where basic hospitality and respect are expected. Instead of addressing the issue, you doubled down with arrogance and blame. If this is how you treat people publicly, I can only imagine how you behave in person. I hope future customers see this attitude and think twice before visiting.”

19/09/2025: Chips were okay, warm but not the best, the chicken was horrible, and I genuinely cannot stress that enough it came cold sort of, and some of it was crispy but majority of the pieces were half soggy which is disgusting and I couldn’t eat it.

29/11/2025: We had brunch on Saturday for my friend's 40th birthday. The music and staff were fab and we did have a great time. There were a few things that needed improvement and to be aware of if booking that are not on the website and I found it hard to get the information before hand. If you have bottomless prosecco you have to eat, now some of our party have quite strict dietary requirements and didn't want food they ate before they came, this information is not on the website. I know it's brunch but on the website food looks optional. Some of our party don't drink prosecco they were told they were not allowed food, there was a complaint made and it was sorted quickly. Had the chicken quesadillas (wrap) nice but for 14.50 it could have had some chips with it, compared to the burger that was overflowing with chips and onion rings for an extra €2. If don't like chicken I wouldn't bother. The prosecco was decent and flowing, would recommend it, but do feel website needs updating with clear rules so people know before arrival.

13/10/2025: Great mid-week deals. Altough the quality of food has dropped in recent times, especially the chicken wings for the deal on Wednesdays. Hygiene needs improving also, the tables are sticky from dirt and poor cleaning, door handles are filthy, and the bathrooms are disgusting!

14/12/2025: First class accommodation with yummy breakfasts & excellent friendly hosts. Go there!!

09/09/2025: Beautiful house, perfect location, best breakfast with vegan options, kind and generous hosts. Peaceful.

24/07/2025: The coffee here is very good, along with some very good snacks. Although everything is very good – breakfast, lunch, and snacks – the competition is very high here in Cork regarding cafes and snack bars. A few years ago, you wouldn't see a cafe like this anywhere else, so to speak! Now they're everywhere. What I mean is that this cafe, called Noir, needs to create its own brand, its own specialty, so that people become interested and identify with it. I hope it stays open for a long time and I wish it the best of luck in its future endeavors.

24/07/2025: Very good coffee is drunk here with some very good snacks, although everything is very good, breakfast, lunch and snacks, the competition is very fierce here in the city of Cork in relation to cafes and snack bars. A few years ago, you didn't see a cafe, so to speak!!! Now they are everywhere. What I mean is that this cafe called Noir has to create its brand, its specialty, so that people are interested and identify with it. I hope it stays open for a long time and I wish you the best of luck in its development.

22/04/2025: I had a great time at Old Reliable Irish Pub! I picked it off Google just wanting a quick pint, and I am so glad I did. It use to be a Mens only pub 20 years ago. 23/12/2025: Very disappointed with my take away order. Ordered two adults meals and a kids meal . 44 euro. The kids meal came with two ! small burned chicken goujons, doggy rice and a few shavings of veg for 8.80 euro. Other take ways in the area are a lot better value and tastier. Don't order here for a kids menu. Rang them to complain, they said the goujons were fresh!

09/11/2025: It has to be a hardworking Chinese person. There aren't many places offering food by 2 PM. The owner repeatedly confirmed that the menu was only in English, was that okay? I ordered pad thai with beef. I also ordered fried shrimp cakes as a snack, such a familiar taste. The pad thai was a modified version, but it was still pretty good. After all, to cater to locals, the flavors need to be adjusted; if it's too authentic, it won't be successful. The owner was also very friendly and chatted a lot. I wish her great success in her business.

03/11/2025: Great local well run bar with music midweek and weekends. Available for functions also i.e. Birthday party. Located within the heart of old Cork City at Blackpool.
