The best restaurants in Cork

28/07/2025: Came to Cork to watch Michael McIntyre @ The Marquee. There was a food hall called The Black Market near the venue so we went there. We needed either vegetarian or a halal food. There was a smash burger place which we really wanted to try but there were no burgers left, the burger stall directed us to Dips. We were not disappointed. We ordered a Korean chicken dish, 2 x Malaysian chicken noodles and a beef curry. The food was fantastic. Good portion sizes and was very tasty. The service was fantastic. Good variety of dishes to choose from. A touch expensive but feel Cork is an expensive place. Highly recommend.

15/07/2025: The Massaman curry was very good and I did expect that considering the crew are from Malaysia. Other items are good as well and the seafood seemed fresh. One thing I did not like is the serving bowls, it is quite hard to eat from it. Hope they can change it to something tried and tested. Overall would recommend for east Asian food in the black market.

28/10/2025: Lovely place, very quiet and perfect for a coffee break. The only thing to improve would be the hot chocolate, a little lukewarm for my taste — it would be even better piping hot!

23/10/2025: I ordered the Falafel Wrap- the salad and the vegetables were stale and when I informed the staff they couldn’t care less. Would never recommend. 0/10

01/09/2025: The bartender is a sight to behold! Effective and highly professional. We stopped by because it was on our way home and thought we'd have the "second to last" one. The atmosphere was masculine and, above all, older... But it was worth it.

21/11/2025: I really enjoy coming here for coffee and toast, it’s one of my favorite spots. Recently, though, I’ve noticed things seem a bit busier than usual. There’s often just one barista serving with a queue forming, and a few tables waiting to be cleaned, which made me leave the last two times I tried to stop by. It’s still a great place with great coffee; just wanted to share in case the team might be a bit short-staffed lately.

17/11/2025: The drinks and food are really good, but from what I’ve seen, the cafe is chronically understaffed. I often see trainee baristas left on their own to deal with long queues of customers. There are lots of opportunities here to improve service. There should be a minimum of two baristas at the counter.

23/11/2025: Don't go here if you're hungry. Went here during the week, was met by extremely small plates, very expensive for what you get, zero presentation and little to no flavour. The place itself is lovely and has a lovely vibe, but we had to go elsewhere for food after we left. Won't ever be returning for food.

20/09/2025: I haven’t had coffee anywhere else but Costa for a long time, but I have to say this: your team is really very amateur. Maybe it’s not their fault, but they do everything wrong. 29/08/2025: I've been a Costa customer for many years, especially this one. I often compare going to Costa for a coffee, or espresso, to going to church on Sundays. The difference is that it's become a routine here to go every day in the late afternoon, catch up with colleagues, and spend a couple of hours here at Costa. It has a beautiful terrace, and inside, there are many tables. The staff are all professionals, but they don't wait on tables. You can use the Wi-Fi, after all. It's a place to have a good time and a meeting point. I wish you the best of luck and many years of success.

25/02/2026: Ocean houses food is unbelievable. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else like I would recommend here. Their satay sauce was the nicest thing ever ate. Please try it.

26/10/2025: Quite possibly the worst spice bag I've ever had. No veg in it. Just chips and rock hard shredded chicken. The spice was literally just a powder mix thrown in with the chicken a chips. Terrible quality.

01/01/2026: On New Year’s Eve, we were deliberately ignored for over 10 minutes while staff happily served everyone who arrived after us. We only got any attention once we called them out on it. The service felt blatantly discriminatory — unless you’re Brazilian, don’t expect to be treated properly. The staff’s attitude was arrogant, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Easily one of the worst bar experiences I’ve had. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place altogether.

27/10/2025: I was in Cork for one day and found this spot on reddit. It was the best iced coffee I've had in Ireland in six months. Very good!

19/11/2025: Super bar. Came down from Belfast and a friend recommended this place - did not disappoint. Pints were great, staff were sound and I could have stayed for hours more for the music alone! Will absolutely be back again.

17/07/2025: Super place for a match, a chat, a laugh and one of the best pints of guinness in Cork! Great staff too!!

15/10/2025: Do not go here for breakfast. Can't vouch for the evenings here or the pints. The breakfast was shocking, unfortunately one of the few places open on Sunday morning. Do yourself a favour & go Tara's instead. Everything was under or over cooked, asked for some tomatoes instead of mushrooms. They brought me a cold sliced bit of tomato. Service poor, didn't clear our table. Pumping the diddly at 10:30am, come on. The worst cup of tea I've ever been served in Ireland

13/10/2025: Staff were excellent. Bacon and cabbage was top notch. Never waiting for a pint. Beamish was exceptional. Bravo

23/12/2025: I ordered a brownie and an americano. The brownie tasted like it was only half cooked. The coffee was just plain bad.

22/12/2025: Disappointed with our visit this morning. Barrista had zero Christmas cheer and it kind of set the tone. Got our order wrong too which didn't make things better for either of us (was corrected). Given how busy it is in town this morning, I would not be surprised if she had been left single-handed which contributed to the tone. The coffee was great though (I pop in regularly enough) so hopefully it was just the grey dreary weather getting to her. 😢

29/03/2026: This place is the pits, Not just on this occasion but many times before, The food is cold and overcooked, The staff would be better off at home. Never again and we have given this place every chance....

13/02/2026: Never get orders right. then when you ring and complain they don't want to help you at all. They forgot my kids food. Food we did receive was cold and thrown together. Won't be ordering or visiting again
