06/04/2025: We had the best Irish stew in town, and the service was very good and fast. Congratulations to Juanma, the waiter, who served us very attentively and gave us advice.

04/04/2025: And a very popular Irish pub called Gallagher’s, perhaps because it’s named after Rory Gallagher, a great guitarist from Cork. This pub is always very busy and very characteristic of this street. They open early, and start serving lunch. In fact, they serve food all day long, and drinks are always respectful. I recommend going there day or night, it’s very good. Back to the guitarist Rip, Rory Gallagher had a shop next door where he sold guitars. We’re talking about a world-class guitarist. Yes, he played the guitar, which is where the name of the pub comes from. There’s a lot of live music here.

11/03/2025: I’m a loyal customer of BOXD and always make a point to bring friends along every week. I also recommend it to everyone I can, always saying it’s the best coffee spot in Cork. However, I had a disappointing experience today. I ordered a Pistachio Latte, and after taking the first sip, I found the coffee flavor quite strong. So, I politely asked if it would be possible to add a little more pistachio. The barista (a girl who was wearing an all-green outfit) was extremely rude and immediately refused, saying that she had already added 1.5 pumps and that if I wanted more, I’d have to pay. The issue wasn’t the rule itself but the way she spoke to me—so harshly that I was left speechless. Thankfully, another barista, who was very kind, pointed out that I had redeemed my drink using my loyalty points (ironically), and she mentioned that she could add more pistachio without charging me. However, the first barista did so very unwillingly, and I left feeling incredibly frustrated. To make things worse, I ended up feeling unwell after drinking the coffee. I know this is not the usual BOXD experience (or at least I hope it isn’t), but this situation made me hesitant to return. I truly hope this feedback is helpful because no one deserves to be treated this way. What should have been a moment to relax and enjoy my coffee turned into an uncomfortable and embarrassing experience.

30/10/2024: What a warm, family friendly welcome by personnel and regulars on a first day, first coffee and pastry in Cork. Not fancy but overwhelmingly neighborhoody and nice; returned again for the coffee and camaraderie in a funky atmosphere; indoor and outdoor (front & back) near Ft. ELIZ., St. Finns Cathedral & Nano Nagles.

04/10/2024: a hidden gem with the nicest staff and even lovely customers! their home baked goods are delicious, they give attention and care to the drinks they make and you feel right at home there 🫶 was my first time here and they were so welcoming and chatty. very cool vibe and stuff for sale there too!

21/02/2025: I very much hope this pub isn't sold and changed into something else as reports last year suggested. A wonderful roadside pub with a truly comfortable interior and welcoming environment you can spend a lot of time in. Well worth the short bus out from central Cork even considering the wealth of options in the centre. Not many pubs on the fringes of town are like this anymore. Please keep it going!

13/11/2024: I cannot stress enough, how amazing the Foxglove team and company is. When my husband and I held a wedding reception at the Baltimore Sailing Club, Tara and Rory worked with us to create a tailored cocktail menu -- and made everything as easy and simple as could be. Not only that, they created custom cocktail toppers with my husband and my names, as well as specialty menus and theming. This was such a wonderful surprise on the day, and my family, who flew over from the States, was equally as excited. Foxglove and the cocktails incorporated such an intimate, special element to the day. Not only that, Tara and Rory and the full Foxglove team are not only consummate professionals, they are kind, funny, and bring such joy to every interaction. The drinks themselves are incredible -- they've made even the most complex drinks that most bartenders would turn to stone if you ordered them into something that is efficient and delicious each and every time. My mom, who doesn't drink liquor and prefers wine, legitimately said it was the only martini should would be drinking from there on out. I'm incredibly lucky to have sampled multiple iterations of Foxglove at different weddings, engagement parties, and events, and quite literally look forward to each and every time. I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly unique and fun this company and its team are. Run, don't walk, to make sure you book for your event. You will not be disappointed. In fact, I'm 100% positive you will feel the same way, and equally want to gush about what an amazing company and team this is.

18/08/2024: The best pizza in Ireland. These folks know what they’re doing. Super friendly too. We asked for a Garlic Cheese Pizza bread which isn’t something that was on the menu and they made it fresh with raw garlic and suggested adding a bit of olive oil too. It was 12 out of 10!! Thanks folks!

23/01/2025: Best restaurant ever! Absolutely loved the atmosphere, and the food was fantastic. We ordered the sharing board and calamari – the calamari was simply spectacular! Such an amazing experience. Every staff member was kind and welcoming. Danilo, who looked after us, was especially attentive, answered all our questions, and made sure we had a great time.
