21/01/2025: Ireland is greatly lacking in places where you can get a decent pie. First time at the Black Market so decided to try these guys. I had the Beef & Beamish pie meal (side of mash with some slaw & salad). The pie was delicious and the mash was smooth and creamy. Service was fast and I liked that the packaging was recyclable. A little pricey for what it is but will definitely go back.

13/05/2025: We booked foxglove for a hen party & was honestly the hi-light of the entire night! Tara was such good craic, such a pleasure to deal with & totally got the vibe! No ask was too much! Would reccomend whole heartedly to anyone ❤️

18/08/2024: The best pizza in Ireland. These folks know what they’re doing. Super friendly too. We asked for a Garlic Cheese Pizza bread which isn’t something that was on the menu and they made it fresh with raw garlic and suggested adding a bit of olive oil too. It was 12 out of 10!! Thanks folks!

13/07/2025: The food was good. The proprietor was obnoxious. The music was loud and boppy. I asked of the music could be turned down. If it was, it was not reduced noticeably. I approached two women who were serving. I said: " Do you think you could turn off the music. It seems as loud as ever, and I don't like what you are playing." I was aghast at the reply: "This is my restaurant and I don't turn off my music - not for anyone. No one else has complained." [This was not true. When leaving a couple, sitting at a table outside, told us they had moved outside because they did not like the music or its loudness.] Shaken, by her rudeness and how disobliging she was, I sat down. It was very uncomfortable being constantly subjected to boomy, annoying music. Finally, when the owner was passing, I said: "I don't know whether you have noticed, but I have a hearing aid and have difficulty listening to people." At last she turned the music low. What a relief! Though, I noticed as we neared the end of our meal the sound was increased. Anyone with a hearing aid would be familiar with this: low, thumpy sounds are very intrusive. I never came across anyone in hospitality who was so rude or so disagreeable. P.S. In response to the proprietor's reply: the traffic coming into Cork from 25 km away was heavier than expected, so we were 25 minutes later than booked. We were a party of six: 4 adults and two 7-year old boys. When we arrived there was only a single party of 4 others. There was a table set for 6 [surely for us?] I asked: "Do we go here?" She said: "No, that's booked." All the other tables were set only for 4. I said: "Can we push two tables together?" She said we could not. I asked when the "6 others" were expected. She said in an hour and a half. I said: "With the boys we are likely to be finished by then," and she consented to this. Securing another dinner acceptance for six right away in July is difficult, so when asked if were wanted to leave, we declined. The proprietor may not have welcomed my requests - common courtesy should have prompted her to readily agree to them - but our party was polite at all times

06/07/2025: Stunning little place. Food delicious & classically plated. Wine tasty and I like how the drinks menus were displayed by the side of each table. Would recommend to anyone who likes tasty traditional food.

21/07/2025: We always really enjoy breakfast and lunch here. Great coffee and choice of food. On this occasion we had our little baby with us. I was very disappointed to find out that they are not entirely baby friendly… there was no changing facility.. no changing table and while they have high chairs no where to comfortably or safely change babies. I had to sit on the closed toilet and balance the baby. Staff recommended I go across to the SuperValu. There is plenty of room to attach a changing table to the wall. One girl apologized I felt the others really could not see my point. Very disappointed in 2025 that this is acceptable.

23/08/2025: A truly welcoming bar! The staff is friendly and very professional, always attentive to customer needs; the atmosphere is clean and meticulously maintained. Ideal for both a quick break and a relaxing moment. Highly recommended!
