01/01/2025: Charming, warm, homely, stripped back old-style pub. Wonderful experience and oasis right in the middle of the cacophony of Cork city centre. Friendly vibe, no tvs, no music just the real deal Irish pub. You’d never know who you might bump into with such an eclectic clientele of local and international.

23/03/2025: Such a perfect example of what it is - a community-centric bakery. They have their own way of making everything and it’s perfect. For those of us under 40, this is the stuff our grannies used to make! Really nostalgic, traditional and well-presented bakes. Their ring doughnuts and coffee cake are a particular favourite of mine. Service is friendly and efficient too! Some of these reviews are complaining about price. These people must not get out much! For locally made baking, fresh from the kitchen to your mouth, the prices are very reasonable. I always expect to pay more and leave with plenty of change for really good breads, cakes and buns. It all tastes so well made too, you’d pay twice the amount for mass produced and low quality nonsense at a big chain café.

06/05/2025: Absolutely fantastic! Came here for my wife’s birthday whilst having a weekend away in Cork and everything about Cafe Mexicana was spot on. Food, service, atmosphere all 10/10. The prices are very reasonable too. We would definitely return when back in Cork.

05/05/2025: The food was definitely excellent and there is no doubt about that. But the experience that me and my friend had was definitely not good. We went on a Saturday in the hopes of having a couple of drink and getting a starter as we had to leave quickly for another event. But we were told that as it's a Saturday we had to order more and were forced to order 2 starters and a main along with the drinks. If this was a rule on the weekends, this should have been mentioned openly instead of forcing people to order food. Or we should have atleast had the option to leave early instead which we were going to. We left the place in half an hour and of course, had to rush through our food. I have never had a bad experience here until this time. The food again, is always excellent!!

10/05/2025: Terrible customer service. We went around 10.15 am on a Saturday, asked the waiter if we could seat outside, she handed the menus and we were waiting more than 20minutes for someone to come. My partner went inside to order directly and they just said someone will go out. Kept waiting, finally a waiter came outside not even making eye contact with us and serving other tables. Not coming back.

23/04/2025: My favourite Pub in town!!! Super friendly Staff!!! A warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a great selection of beers at fair prices. It’s always a pleasure to stop by! I do miss the Cotton Ball beers (hope it makes a return soon)! Overall, just a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy a drink.

20/04/2025: Fab little spot that one of the local tour guides mentioned to me. Fab pizza, nice vibe, and staff very helpful. Would definitely come back next time I’m in Cork.

13/04/2025: Had the Frida pizza and was very underwhelmed to be honest. Was falling all apart and toppings not dough weren't good enough. When I sat in the beer garden the chimney from the wood fire oven was blowing out black pieces that kept falling on our clothes and table and all the stuff, came home with one dirty white shirt just from sitting out

11/05/2025: Onion tart with goat's cheese was delicious with a perfect crust. Sole on the bone was excellent and served with asparagus. It went well with the alborino. Wait staff were attentive. Great meal and service

06/05/2025: Always a 10/10. Easily my favourite restraunt in Cork city. You can see the chefs cooking the fresh meals in the kitchen. Staff are lovely and accommodating. Food is seriously delirious and so is the wine!

03/05/2025: Love il Padrino. The managers are extremely friendly whenever we visit. The waiters are so welcoming also. We recommend prawns, bruschetta, and penne ruspanti…they never disappoint. Highly Recommend il Padrino, 10/10 :)
