South County Bar
Cork
20/06/2026: Myself and my Dad met at the South County on a Friday evening for a drink and a bite to eat. It was one of the most enjoyable evenings we've had for years. The place was packed and had a fantastic atmosphere. Service at the bar was top class. The wait staff were also exceptional. We both ordered the chicken schnitzel and would highly recommend it. We had a great chat with the owner, Kieran, who couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.
Overall, 5 star experience in every area. Already looking forward to going back. Thanks again Kieran & Team
16/06/2026: Great spot but I feel horrible after the curry - total MSG overload and had a splitting headache and all the other MSG symptoms. Tasted good though! Leek and potato soup was amazing

51 Cornmarket
Cork
19/07/2026: 5 of us had a lovely evening meal here. The restaurant is small but light and comfortable. It was busy even at 18:30 on Saturday evening. To start we had the crab and n’duja bao, duck liver pate, & ceviche. As my main I had the amazing burrata with cucumber and tomatoes with delicious minty pesto-type dressing and chunky chips The others at my table all had the hake and mussels. Everything was fantastic. I had the flourless chocolate cake with boozy cherries and vanilla icecream- OMG it was devine!
11/07/2026: We just had a spectacular meal here. Really delicious food, very nice service, couldn't fault it. We probably ordered too much food (one dish each off each section plus a couple of sides) but every dish was gorgeous! We'll definitely be back!

25/06/2026: Small bar. It's a surprise when you walk in. It's like having a drink in living room. Very cosy if you get a seat. No mobile phones aloud. Only the chat. Great!.

Joe's and Bros
Cork
15/07/2026: I had been looking for a nice pastry all afternoon, and found this spot's strawberry and pistachio croissant🥐
The strawberries were fresh and overall, the pastry was not too sweet. Would go perfectly with a tea or a coffee if I ordered one.
Nice service too😁
11/07/2026: Went this morning for sandwiches, coffee and orange and apple juice. We did find it quite pricey as others have said, but as my partner and I are just here on holiday it isn't too much of a deterrent and we still think we'll go back tomorrow morning to sample more of their sambos :) the sandwich are excellent and quite filling, and if you don't finish it you can quite conveniently just wrap the rest of it in the baking paper of your tray to have later (though i'm sure they have proper takeaway boxes, we just didn't feel like there was a need).
We went around ten ish, there wasn't too much of a queue then but by 11 they had at least six people waiting so it is definitely popular and would recommend going early if you don't like waiting.

Jacques
Cork
15/07/2026: average quality products. poor price-quality ratio How can you expect good food when the chef walks around in an old undershirt and reeks like an ashtray from smoking outside? The only good thing they have is the steaks—it’s hard to mess those up; the product speaks for itself—but the scallops are frozen, and you can really taste it. The Irish will buy and eat anything.
12/06/2026: A quick stop at this Cork restaurant, where we decided to share an Irish ribeye steak.
The service was okay, though sometimes slow.
The meat was only offered medium-rare, which is a shame considering a ribeye can be served beautifully rare, but it seems the chef, apparently French, doesn't know how to do it (or even write "beef" on the menu).
Fortunately, the meat and sides were still good, but overcooked for our taste.
