Jim Edwards
Kinsale
16/06/2025: Jim Edwards is one of the best dining locations in this gourmet town of Kinsale, Ireland. Ask the locals for the best spot for fish and chips and this restaurant is one of the first mentioned. I had seafood chowder, rib eye steak & stickey toffee pudding- scrumptious! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the town. Oh yes, I also tasted their medley of Irish whiskey- š
15/06/2025: Traveled 5000+ km to eat here but they said we donāt take any more customers.
That was at 7:15 pm ?!?!?

Fishy Fishy
Kinsale
06/07/2025: We like Fishy Fishy, perfect dinner.
06/07/2025: Based on all of the "amazing", "incredible", and "best seafood I have ever eaten" reviews, we were genuinely disappointed. We had reservations and were seated promptly, with the option of inside or outside. We chose outside. Immediately, the waitress wanted to take our drink AND food order. We ordered scallops and salmon, which arrived at our table in under 5 minutes. That was surprising. Was it made to order or simply assembled with pre-made ingredients? Both of our meals were fine - not bad but certainly nothing special. From the time we arrived until the end of our meal was 30 minutes, and that even included cocktails. The restaurant was not crowded so I don't know why the rush. The atmosphere inside was classy. Outside felt more casual. There was a lattice wall outside covered in filthy, plastic ivy. Not what one would expect from a high-end restaurant. So overall, the food was fine, the service was rushed, and I'm sorry that I fell for all of the "fishy" reviews. I could not recommend this restaurant. I was truly disappointed.

Nine Market St
Kinsale
02/06/2025: I stopped in for tea and sandwich on the patio. I ordered the egg mayo which is an egg salad sandwich with cucumbers and some micro greens. It was a good size and I had the option to add chips (fries) on the side for around 10 Euros. I had Earl Grey tea. It was delicious and popular with the locals.
17/05/2025: Top spot in Kinsale for a late lunch. Chowder was excellent!

Saint Francis Provisions
Kinsale
19/06/2025: Iāve lived in Ireland for 8 months. We dine out frequently. In the time weāve been here to be VERY blunt, St. Francis Provisions is a top three dining experience! Staff was attentive but not intrusive, we we seated in outdoor dining was on a small city square that was pretty much deserted as it was drizzling (we were seated under an awning, so stayed dry)⦠The flood was sublime. We had the Braised Chard with Raisins/Pine Nuts and Ajo Blanco, the Grilled radishes with Macroom Ricotta (the Ricotta was stunning), the Caherberg Bavette (skirt steak?) with āGreen Sauceā and Smoked Potatoes with Aioli⦠The starters we more than big enough, was very surprised by the radishes as they were green/sweet and not peppery, at all. The Ajo Blanco with the chard was difficult to place in my culinary lexicon - I need to learn to make it! - The Bavette was perfectly cooked and the āGreen Sauce was a Chimi-churri-esque riff with capers and mint⦠ALL of the above were plated well, tasted great and left us wishing we had more room to try ALL the other menu items⦠But the thing that got me THE MOST was Chef Rebeccaās take on potatoes. Look, this is Irelandā¦you canāt turn over a menu in upscale dining here without new and interesting riffs on potatoes. According to Jack, the Maitreād, these were steamed, then smoked, then fried and served with a very thick and punchy garlic aioli.
Simply, they are the finest potatoes I have eaten since moving hereā¦.
In conclusion, St. Francis is a top three favorite dinner since we moved here. The place is small and cooks at a level that you might not expect with its simple setting and āquaint tourist townā vibeā¦
If you get the chance, eat there. Youāll kick yourself if you donāt.
So, all things Kinsale are easy to find, on the internetā¦the town is lovely, and reminds me of small New England seaport towns.
02/06/2025: Great food - amazing fish and to die for mozzarella salad - in a wonderful setting.
Visit before, a good few times, strawberry salad, smoked potatoes, broccoli and fried aubergine really tasty.
Great vibe and friendly staff.

Max's
Kinsale
18/06/2025: Amazing experience. The monkfish was like two huge chunks of lobster meat. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my wifeās lactose intolerance.
18/05/2025: We feel very lucky to have managed to get in to this little gem of a restaurant on our last night in Ireland. A short menu of freshly made dishes. Great! All options were imaginative, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. Portions were a perfect size - not too big. We cleared our plates at each course - no waste and we were replete. And to accompany the lovely food, we enjoyed a bottle of reasonably priced French vermentino, which we have taken details of and hope to find again. We finished with a small glass of the āstickyā of our choice wi the our deserts. Staff were all charming. We loved this place. Get there if you can.

The Flying Poet Aviation CafƩ - Coffee, Food, and Wine
Kinsale
17/06/2025: The food was delicious. The staff very helpful with dairy intolerance. Lovely atmosphere.
02/06/2025: On main Street in Kinsale this relaxing quiet fabulously decorated and bright peaceful cafe just away from the large crowds and queues for restaurants and takeaways. Is something very special the flying poet Cafe and serves fresh beautiful toasted sandwiches and at great value ā¬8.00 for the filling, Tuna melt toastie. ā¬3 euros for a small pot of tea is great value.
The staff were fantastic and kind with a great atmosphere and clean surroundings. This Cafe is a must see it is done up with great photos and memorabilia from the aviation industry. I would honestly pay an entry fee it was so memorizing and interesting. Great experience great affordable food.
