The best restaurants in Kinsale

15/12/2024: The only reason I can't give the room a 5 star is the telly. It is so small that you have to stand in front of it to see the screen, but who goes to Kinsales to watch TV. Great service, very nice and spot on staff. The food was top class and I definitely will be back. Best regards Brian Jacobsen, Fermoy Co.Cork

06/11/2024: Great food, we probably should have ordered a bit more as we were hungry, but the food we had was very good. Particularly love the aubergines. Bavette steak was great. Nice non alcoholic cocktail. My only reason not to give this restaurant a 5 is that it isn’t that comfortable, sitting outside on little seats.

18/11/2024: Went to have brunch with my friends here and they always have superb food and coffee! Only downside was my awkward reaction with a server but it was amazing over all :) ps… really recommend their eggs Benedict with their lemon hollandaise.

16/11/2024: Went today (Saturday) and it was my first time eating here. We waited to be seated and stood there for about 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. There were plenty of staff passing us which I found quite rude. We got a table after another few minutes chose what we wanted and waited for someone to come back and take our order. Nobody came. So I had to ask someone at the counter could we order. The waitress who came was very nice though I will say that. I got the special braised beef and potato “cigars”. €18 … so I was expecting a meal. While it looked decent on arrival it was in fact very small. The sauce on the meat was a black pepper sauce that was the only flavour. Couldn’t even taste the beef. My friend got a Caesar salad which was just a handful of leaves, some dry grilled chicken and bacon bits. Nobody at any stage came back to check on us as we wanted to order chips. But we didn’t have time to wait and as it took so long we just went without. No greeting, no checking up to see if we were ok or needed anything and mediocre food. We had two lemonades and a tea for two. €50. Really over priced, lacking flavour and small. I definitely wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back and think the manager (which I’m assuming was the man who seated us and didn’t even crack a smile) needs to talk to himself and the staff and be more efficient. A simple smile and a “we will be with you in a moment” would have been nice.

21/11/2024: A hidden gem in Kinsale! Fantastic setting, service and meal!!! A must visit if you are in town! Wishing we were staying longer so we could return… but definitely will next trip!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Compliments to our hostess and our chef! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️… deserving of more!

28/10/2024: We came in on a windy evening and received excellent service and a great meal. The waitress was so friendly and helpful and the vibes were very cozy. We both got the short rib and thought it was excellent.

20/10/2024: We are literally flying home right now and had to write this review for one of our best meals in Ireland! This place is amazing!! A must when in Kinsale!

01/12/2024: We had a great time dining here at Blue Haven. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. The fish n chips was exceptional. I definitely would commend checking this spot out.

20/11/2024: Had there chickpea+tofu curry and it was very good, with a side of basmati rice and mint sauce. Enjoyed the food and a very good service. After dinner they started with live music and could have a very good time.

13/11/2024: We spent 2 weeks in Ireland and this restaurant stands out as my favorite. Delicious food and environment. We were well taken care of. Try to reserve. We didn’t, but they were so lovely to let us hang at the bar until a table was available.

11/11/2024: Atmosphere and tables are nice. We were greeted and brought to our table quickly. After that, service was a disaster. Nobody came near us for the whole meal other than taking our order. It took us 35 minutes to get the bill. Everything on the table empty. Food was very average. Fish pie was ok, tuna was so salty it was barely edible. Really expected more with its reputation. Felt like nobody cared at all.
