The best restaurants in Kinsale

21/08/2026: Three of us had the tasting menu last night and the experience was fabulous from start to finish. As each of the courses was presented one of the chefs came out to describe them in detail. For me the trout starter was to die for, my daughters chicken dish was her favourite, while my wife thought the fish dish of turbot was delicious. I also went with the signature wines which were all beautifully selected to go with each course. While not a cheap night out, well worth the experience.

04/09/2026: Small and so somewhat cramped. Very busy at this time of year but servers were lovely and friendly and tried to serve everyone as quickly as they could. Food was very tasty, atmosphere cosy and best of all for us , inside and out it is VERY dog-friendly, even with two big dogs in a small space. Servers gave them treats and some love too ❤️ Kinsale is a bit of a nightmare for driving and finding parking in season, but once you’re lucky enough to find a spot, the core is very compact and walkable and Leona’s is well positioned. Would recommend 👍

10/07/2026: The scones were the best I've ever tasted. Perfect crust, not too moist, not too dry, add the accompanying jam and spread and it's fantastic. Wish I could go there everyday.

08/09/2026: A yummy Fishy Fishy fish pie & mash, finished with a fab sticky toffee pudding. I’ve not had one in over eight years - what a delight. Light and fluffy with a delicious treacle syrup 🤤

08/09/2026: The fish pie was seasoned so well i didn't even notice the rotten fish that gave me the meanest food poisoning of my entire life. Wouldn't recommend.

01/09/2026: Dined here in mid July and they looked after me well on my birthday. Very strong wine pairing. Food all lovely.

06/07/2026: Lovely little place, pastries were great! Only downside was the reusable cups policy, kind of inconvenient especially since I was just down for the day. I do appreciate the sustainable efforts, but it might be helpful to have takeaway cups available for visitors who aren’t local 😊

28/06/2026: The shop looks attractive, a bit different. However, the food did not live up to the hype of the shop. The toasted ham and cheese sandwich was so lathered in French mustard I couldn't taste the cheese and ham. I hoped the apple and custard 'bun' I bought with it would vanquish the mustard 🙏 No chance, it was tasteless, where was the apple and custard? It certainly wasn't in the bun, maybe still in in the pantry? What a hype, I've travelled in Ireland from north to south, had fabulous food, but not in Kinsale, 'Seeds' is a big disappointment.

21/08/2026: We had a fantastic meal. The food was delicious, made with high-quality ingredients and beautifully prepared. The service was also excellent—attentive but not intrusive—and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We went because of the great reviews, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The care put into both the cooking and the customer service is evident. The timing between courses was perfect, and we loved everything we ordered. It's one of those places you're delighted to discover, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended for both the food and the service.

06/06/2026: I had dinner here recently and it was delicious. Staff are very friendly and professional and very knowledgeable about their gluten free options. Most of the menu could be adapted for gluten free. Staff were also very aware of cross contamination. I had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

20/05/2026: It was recommended for its food! But both breakfast and diner where below standard. Waiter seemed kind but inexperienced. Location is good.

10/08/2026: The service from Eduardo, a really nice guy from Valencia, was outstanding. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant with good music.

09/08/2026: Lovely cafe in an iconic and much photographed little laneway coffee was good served by pleasant and cheerful staff. The stunning weather highlighted a very picturesque setting.

12/07/2026: Absolutley amazing food wonderfull staff we have been going to cobra for a good few years went yesterday evening 14 people and I could not recommend them enough outstanding service 14 starters 14 mains and each and every meal was amazing well done and thank you for having amazing food

08/07/2026: Frozen lamb that was dry chewy and unpleasant to eat in our curry. Served me a cold pre made roti which is a sin. If you are unfamiliar with Indian food you might think this place is ok. If you are familiar with good Indian food you won’t be happy.

25/08/2026: One of the best lunches we have ever had anywhere in the world! Every single dish we ordered was spectacular. The seafood chowder and chicken tikka are phenomenal!! The service was very friendly but on the slower side so I don’t recommend this place if you’re in a rush. But otherwise it is a must go!

14/08/2026: My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at The Blue Haven’s weekly Indian Pop-Up Thursday. Each week, the chef creates a tasting menu showcasing a different region of India, and last night’s menu took us to West Bengal and Kolkata. Highlights included the Kolkata chicken drumstick biryani, rich chicken kosha, fish kalia and chingri macher bora, followed by a lovely moong daler payesh for dessert. Everything was full of flavour, wonderfully varied and very filling—easily some of the tastiest Indian food we’ve had in Ireland. The service was excellent too: attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, with the team kindly talking us through every dish. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for a memorable Indian meal in Kinsale. It has already become a Thursday-night fixture in our house!
