15/08/2025: Bun and Bowl has become a family tradition whenever we are heading to the airport (we live outside Dublin) we try different things everytime and anything we’ve had has been great quality and amazing value too. Delicious dumplings, juicy burgers, highly recommend the red Thai curry with prawns 🙌

Da Mimmo

Dublin
16/08/2025: Food was absolutely to die for! I ordered the seafood pasta, and it was incredible – packed with a generous variety of fresh seafood. The portion size was huge and left me more than satisfied. For starters, I had the calamari, which was so plentiful it could easily have fed two people. Price-wise, it’s mid-range – not overly expensive but not cheap either – and absolutely worth it for the quality and portion sizes. The only downside is the space. The restaurant is quite small, and they’ve made use of every inch by fitting in as many tables as possible. This means you most likely will end up sitting very close to other diners, with limited room to move around. Overall, though, the food alone makes it worth visiting!

Mad Yolks

Dublin
27/08/2025: Cute little restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The service was quick and the employees were friendly enough. The menu had several different options available and the prices were affordable. We definitely recommend!
25/08/2025: First time coming here! We were on a vacation in Ireland and we had to try the famous Irish breakfast. The food was so good! I ordered the Irish breakfast but with eggs whites. Definitely try this restaurant out! Amazing and clean place. They also have delicious desserts. Try out the brownie!

The Twirly Gate

Dublin
23/06/2025: Disappointed with this place, extremely slow service at 3pm on a Sunday with only a couple of people inside and 3 staff members. Overpriced at 18e for 2 lattes served in small glasses and 2 pastries one of which was slightly stale. Will not return.
23/06/2025: This place is sandwiched between 2 other really nice spots, but the 'Smashed Avocado with Chorizo Jam' cannot be beaten! Best brunch meal I've had to date.. Service is quality and friendly, really nice decor. Big fan of this place!

Fusciardi's of Capel Street

Dublin
15/08/2025: A place where you feel at home, greeted with smiles, kindness, and excellent food! Contrary to what I read in a previous review, we had no issues with card payments, and for the owner's hospitality and attentiveness, a 10% tip would be the minimum! They truly deserve it. We'll definitely be back!
15/08/2025: Terrible place with very rude staff. Never coming back Update to the owners comment: No, I never threatened any staff with a bad review. Also, the toilets were not closed, the waitress said it was only for who was consuming food, even though we bought loads of pints there. Also, it was lashing outside so we were standing under the tent on the footpath and the waitress told us to leave, even though there were no customers consuming food there and we were having our pints. My friend was trying to talk to the waitress to say we were consuming and where were we supposed to go and the waitress said “go home then”. So Mr. Restaurant owner, kindly check the facts before replying to a review. You were not there and my friends and I felt extremely humiliated that day as that never happened to us before in any other place. Please be more human and allow people that are buying many pints in your establishment to also use the toilets and be under the tent in the footpath if it’s lashing out. We’re not animals

Casper & Giumbini's

Dublin
11/09/2025: Excellent menu with decent options for vegan vegetarian and healthy eating. Lovely staff, great service. Well situated near Dun Laoghaire pier, but close to shopping on the main street. Pleasant decor, choice of high stools or table seating when booking.
02/09/2025: An otherwise enjoyable lunch marred by the weirdly glib host out front. Nice to have a bit of banter with a host when you enter a restaurant. But I've never experienced myself and my family just being laughed at without explanation until I entered Casper & Giumbini's. Did one of us fall over on the way in, do something silly, crack a joke? That would make sense; I'd laugh myself. No, I just walked in there with my multi-ethnic family: my two young kids and my elderly parents. What a sight! Can you imagine? All of us together in one family. In the 21st century? Yes of course you can, big deal, who cares? You’d think nobody cares. But when the host saw us he started smirking to himself and unable to contain himself quipped “Are you all together?”, and with that burst into laughter at his own joke. As if my family was the funniest sight he’d ever seen! The waitress standing beside him joined in with him in a false way. I’d be mildly curious to know if she was politely laughing at her boss’s joke or if she found the idea of us all being “together” equally hilarious. At the time I couldn’t work out what they found so funny. They just continued to laugh at us until my dad responded: “Yes, we are all together.” The host managed to settle himself eventually and said “Oh great you’re altogether”, still chuckling. Even at this point he offered no explanation for the laughter or invitation to join in on the humour. This is what makes the experience so strange. I’ve encountered “witty” hosts before but in every other case the humour has been shared with the customers. At the time I felt like walking out. But my parents were excited to be taking us all out for dinner and my two young kids were delighted and I didn’t want to cause a scene. But now I regret that we stayed. The waitress who laughed along with the host continued to be curt and borderline-rude for the remainder of her interactions with us. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, the rest of the staff we dealt with were both efficient, friendly and professional. It’s a shame their good work was undone by such a bizarre and small spirited reception.

D'Olier Street Restaurant

Dublin
21/08/2025: Went with a group of 5 (originally a table for 6, one got sick so they couldn’t go, which we mentioned right at the start). The start was very solid, great service and knowledge about the food. The first 4 dishes were excellent, but it went steeply downhill after this. After trying one dish that no one at our table liked, the server made a petty remark that it was a “refined taste”. We watched 6 people at 2 different tables also try it and either spit it out or make disgusted faces. None of the dishes after were worth going for. At the end of our meal, we were charged for a full extra tasting for the person that wasn’t there, and when we asked about it, the staff quickly became rude and defensive. We were never given the option to receive the extra portion we would be required to pay for, and we weren’t taking up extra seats because there were only three or four other tables in the restaurant. We understand that they may purchase ingredients based on how many people reserve seats, however, if given the option we would have had the extra dishes brought out and shared if we were going to be paying for it anyways. Would not recommend or go back.
19/08/2025: This review should actually be 4.5 / 5 really. Overall we thought the food was incredible and well worth it. However, our only slight complaint was the desserts, whereas a couple of them were lovely, we both agreed that a few others were overly sweet to the point that even though they were small one of them actually almost made me feel a bit sick due to the sweetness of it. But this is only a slight negative to an otherwise brilliant evening. Great staff, lovely restaurant, great wine. Would still go back for sure.
