The best restaurants in Dublin

23/08/2024: We've been dying to try Big Mike's for ages, and we certainly weren't disappointed. The food was absolutely stunning. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The only teensy thing was that my parents found their desserts to be a little over sweet. I, however, was delighted with my Naughty Piña Colada for dessert!

07/11/2024: I went for some food and drinks on Friday 1st November with my two friends with the intentions of staying for the night. They have a good food menu and advertise gluten-free food which is great as I'm coeliac. I went to the bar and ordered a gluten-free beer but they didn't have any which was very disappointing. We got menus to order food and I asked a staff member could she tell me what gluten-free options they have as it does not specify it on the menu. It didn't take her very long to tell me as they have very little gluten-free options. She told me they did have a burger which came with a gluten-free bun and chips. I asked were the chips gluten-free and was told no which is absolutely ridiculous if your coeliac. I asked what other options were available and unfortunately there wasn't any. As we left I spoke to the manager and explained how disappointing it was that I couldn't get a gluten-free meal or a gluten-free beer. His answer was that they didn't have a separate fryer to cook gluten-free food in and that he had got a delivery of gluten-free beer in that day and it was dropped and they ALL smashed. Very disappointing visit.

16/10/2024: Ordered thalassery biryani and dragon chicken as starter for takeaway and experience was not good, chicken pieces in biryani were smelling. Dragon chicken was ok.

12/10/2024: The food here is amazing! There’s big portions and definitely worth the money. Friendly workers with great service and hospitality provided. Would recommend it to anyone 🙂

04/11/2024: 5 star experience for dinner. Firstly, we arrived an hour after Early Bird menu times but were still offered it. That was an unexpected cost saver. The food is on the pricier side, but I'd say you get what you pay for. Service was phenomenal. The chips were more like wedges/crispy baked potato, but still very tasty. My burger was a little pink, which I didn't mind, but just in case you don't want that, be sure to let your server know. Lovely little restaurant that doesn't have cramped seating

05/11/2024: The kebab portion like kids meals size and without chips and drink for 14€ Chicken very oily lamp containing gummy fatty pieces which is damaged the taste chips from lidl frozen bags 🤣🤣🤣 4€ Not Recommended

27/10/2024: One night stay in single room with en-suite. Staff very welcoming I arrived early and was able to wait in the bar with tea until room was ready. Small but clean and comfortable room. Good stay only marred slightly by the noise from the trains passing and roadworks.

27/10/2024: Really good, the rooms were clean, very well equipped and comfortable. The double beds are a bit narrow at 160cm for 2 people. Windows didn't close properly, so it was very loud at times. The staff is very, very friendly and even brought additional items we needed late in the evening.

27/10/2024: 1st time to visit, won't be the last Went for a late lunch. Our visit started with a great welcome at the door they had seats available, so no wait. Our waitress was so nice and friendly. Food came relatively quickly and was as described on the menu, plus it was really, really good quality and tasted great. Great venue will be back.

01/04/2024: I work in a cafe so I understand when people can have an off day and I always give people a the benefit of the doubt, when I first tried fable it was with my dad, Alise the owner was behind the till and the service and everything was PERFECT! I had a great first time and recommended fable to everyone! Since then I have been hooked on your buns, I love them! But the staff (except from the wonderful Alise) are really unfriendly. I have been to fable 10+ times now, purely for the buns. The staff, don’t really condone small talk are very judgey as if they are better than their customers? It’s a pity because I love the baked goods but the staff are the downfall :/ once or twice with hostile customer service is excusable but EVERYTIME??? Something needs to change. I love fable but I don’t think fable loves me :(

31/10/2024: Very nice family get together here made all the better by the good reasonably priced food, friendly atmosphere and cheerful staff. We got basmati rice as there were no onions in it.

26/10/2024: Been there a few times as one of the local places to go in Lucan village… typically an average experience…, occasionally awful. We went on a Sunday, almost full but some tables available. We ordered drinks and food and drinks were served soon… but then we were waiting for the food a very long time despite we saw food being served at tables that had arrived and ordered after we had arrived. Once we asked for the food they brought it straight away… totally cold! No apologies, no compensation… simply terrible customer service and therefore the food wasn’t great … very disappointing

10/11/2024: Overall, Al Boschetto exceeded my expectations. The service was prompt and courteous, we received our order in less than 10 minutes. The carbonara were a bit too oily but otherwise perfectly cooked, tasty and in a generous portion. Calzone has been a pleasant surprise; the inside was tasty and fresh, the outside crispy and soft. I would have appreciated a bit more tomato sauce but other than that it was very good. The Pastorella pizza had a well balanced taste, the dough was fresh and relatively light. Burrata had a delicate taste that went well with mortadella. Affogato and tiramisu were fair, nothing outstanding.

04/11/2024: Stopped for a bite before a match. Understandably busy, but the food was great! Bigger than it looks from the street, don't let that fool you, stop in.

20/10/2024: The place has lot of potential but lacks some basics. The place is tiny but has a great outdoor seating but unfortunately often packed with dodgy people (probably cause coffee is cheap) and men that are ruining completely the place by starring at every single woman passing by, it’s not attracting customers. Second of all, the coffee made from the Italian waiters is great but when the girl is making it the taste is so bad! You can tell she doesn’t care at all… Then croissants are not great quality, I ordered a custard croissant and there was barely a trace of custard in that thing (photo attached). I will be back? Yes cause it’s next to my work but I wouldn’t recommend it.
