26/02/2026: The flavour of the salad is exceptional. I find myself thinking about the salad all the time, could never replicate it! The seasoning on the chips is tasty and I love the bao bun. Homemade lemonades and cocktails are great. Nice price for lunch deal. The fact they have vegan and meat options is great for everyone and in terms of flavour I give this spot a 5/5.

08/03/2026: We had a lovely meal here and the food was really nice. The atmosphere wasn’t particularly lively, there was music playing but it was quite hard to hear, so the overall vibe felt a little quiet. However, our waitress completely made the experience for us. She was really friendly, made jokes, and took the time to recommend dishes, which we really appreciated. Her great attitude and service made the evening much more enjoyable. Overall, lovely food and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend, thank you!

03/01/2026: My recent experience in the Step Inn was very unsatisfactory and uncomfortable. The host, Sarah, was very rude and dismissive. I didn’t have a reservation and asked could I be seated for a main course. The restraunt was full but she said she could seat me at a table for 2 to the right of the main desk. I agreed and was brought to the table and placed my order. Over the next few minutes I realised I was seated outside the doors to the kitchen. It was very busy and resembled Dublin airport. I spoke to Sarah and outlined my discomfort and she replied “ I don’t normally put people there and if I knew you had a problem, I would have moved you”. Can honestly say that the Sandyford House or the Golden Ball deliver serious customer service, perhaps the Step Inn new owners will pay attention.

24/12/2025: The cleaning practices here seriously need improvement. I watched staff use the same cloth to wipe tables, chairs, and even the seating areas where people actually put the shoes on. That means whatever is on the floor is being wiped right onto the tables where people eat. This is basic hygiene and it shouldn’t be overlooked. I can bet my money the same cloth is used to wipe counters. 🤢

15/12/2025: Great coffee and pastry shop in Smithfield! The cardamom bun (Cardi B) is probably one of the best cardamom buns in Dublin! This pastry runs out on weekend by noon so make sure you’re there early to grab one. The cinnamon bun is also very delicious and would recommend it too. The coffee selection at proper order is quite extensive and I appreciate the variety of options that they have to offer. The staff is very helpful and patient, and there is ample space in the cafe. Love this place!

04/10/2025: Such lovely staff, with great service! Anna was so nice and welcoming, but so were also the others! We ate a lovely lunch there and it was so good that we had to come back the day after 😃🤩. Their hot chocolate and chai is also superb!! Will go back!!

20/02/2026: The pasta is really good, and as an Italian, I'd say it's better than some restaurants in Italy. The entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
