11/09/2026: La Peniche is a really nice place with a great atmosphere and a lovely team. The setting is definitely one of the highlights, and it is the kind of place that works well for meeting friends, having something to eat or simply enjoying the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit enjoyable. The food and drinks were good, although I felt the prices were a little high for the level of service and the overall experience. The main thing I would suggest improving is the space itself. It felt a little too crowded, with perhaps one or two tables too many. Removing a couple of tables would give people more space and make the experience much more comfortable. The music was also quite loud during my visit, which made it harder to have a conversation. Overall, there is a lot to like about La Peniche — nice place, good atmosphere and a great team. With slightly more space, lower music and a better balance between price and service, I think the experience could be significantly better.

17/09/2026: UNLIMITED WINGS OFFER! This is obviosly a personal experience, I will definelty repeat but don´t book at 8:30/10, kitchen closes at 9:30 and they don´t advise you. They took half hour to take our first order, bar tenders and personal were really nice but if you have an hour and half of unlimited wings it´s really unfair that you can only order during half hour. Wings were delicious and the offer it´s really nice but they are not unlimited as you don´t have enought time to eat as much as you want. We end up eating 30 each but I was aiming for 50 so I will come back.

17/09/2026: The burgers were really good! Also the drinks. Service was really nice. The only thing we didnt like was that the manager was in the middle of the restaurant, with her computer, a lot of food on the table and it just doesn’t looks good. I would recommend her to go to the office to work.

11/09/2026: We booked Oliveto at Haddington House for a team dinner for 17 people, but unfortunately I made a mistake and booked it for the wrong day. When I got to the restaurant with 17 other people, Sinead, with the support of Brenda, went above and beyond to accommodate us and make everything work. The staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, professional, welcoming and incredibly helpful. They made what could have been a very stressful situation completely seamless, and our team had a fantastic evening. A huge thank you to Sinead, Brenda and the whole team at Oliveto for being so understanding and accommodating. The food was wonderful, and we really appreciated how much they did to help us. Highly recommend Oliveto at Haddington House — we’ll definitely be back!

09/05/2026: An absolutely fantastic authentic Irish pub away from the tourist traps, clean and real traditional decor. The service is either table or bar and they are super fast and efficient, the prices are reasonable compared to some. A proper locals pub but even as complete outsiders we were made to feel extremely welcome by everyone. !!!!!HOWEVER!!!!! Visited on a Friday night as it was kareoke night which in one sense was very good some cracking local singers, but its ran by two brothers who set up and then sing 7 or more songs between them first before getting anyone else up to do KAREOKE, there was four of us who all really wanted to sing as it was our only time visiting so we were the first to put our names down at around 8.45 so bearing in mind the pub doesn't close till half 12. After speaking with maybe 20 locals who all said its so nice to meet new people in the pub and hear them sing they were quite excited. 2 of our group sang midway through the night despite being first to put our names down, and every person they get up to sing sings two songs in a row. I was asked by the locals why I hadn't sang yet and I couldn't answer so a couple of them spoke to the two guys running it and they said "yeah we will get them on soon" So we sat and waited patiently and got drinks from the bar and then at 0045 the brothers call another man up to sing and then say "sorry we couldn't get everyone up tonight this guy will be the last singer" Disappointed, Deflated and disheartened were three words I'd use. But don't let this stop you visiting the pub its a great place just don't go with the intentions of hoping to do kareoke as you may end up like me waiting 3 and a half hours and not even get called up. I feel I'm being very fair dropping a star on this review.

02/08/2026: Good atmosphere. Sunday carvery is a must. Get there early! Queues don't lie. Pool and snooker in the back. Nice pints. Plenty of parking. Just to note its not dog friendly.

17/08/2026: As a family we have been customers of The Khyber for 25 years and the food and service has been consistently of a high standard. Delivery’s are always hot on arrival, an order has never been wrong, and service has always been timely and with a smile. Would recommend The Khyber to anyone who enjoys Indian food 😃

03/07/2026: Often came here with family or on dates. Last Friday evening I had time to kill before a bus I walked 20 minutes here to grab and drink and was refused entry at the door for being alone?!? Appalling way to treat a customer or people in general.

07/09/2026: I visited Boojum this evening to get a burrito bowl, and unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the girls serving there. At the time, there were only two customers in the restaurant, including me, so it was not particularly busy. The girl was initially serving another customer, but in between serving them, she repeatedly asked me what I wanted. I clearly told her that I wanted a burrito bowl, but she asked me multiple times even though I had already answered. What made the situation uncomfortable was that there was another customer as well, and she did not ask them what they wanted in the same way she was repeatedly questioning me. Later, another girl took over and served me. When I went to the till, the first girl asked me if I wanted a drink. I said yes, and because I wasn’t sure whether I was supposed to take the drink myself from the shelves, I asked if I could take it from there. She either didn’t hear me properly or misunderstood me and then asked again, in what came across as a very rude and dismissive manner, whether I wanted a drink. I again said yes, I wanted one. She continued asking repeatedly, despite me already making my answer clear. I understand that staff can be busy, and I have no issue with being asked to clarify my order. However, considering there were only two customers there, I found the way I was spoken to particularly unnecessary. The facial expressions, tone and overall attitude made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. What particularly stood out to me was that she was being very pleasant with the other customer, but her attitude towards me was noticeably different. I don’t know why, and I don’t want to make assumptions, but as a customer, I expect to be treated with the same basic courtesy and respect as everyone else. I am not complaining about the food or the service time. My concern is specifically about the attitude and manner in which I was treated. Staff members are representing the business, and even when interacting with customers, basic politeness and respect should be maintained. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that the situation can be addressed so other customers don’t have a similar experience.

05/09/2026: Boojum is very tasty a d the portions are very filling. The price is as expected and they also offer a good student discount. The toilets in this location are clean and there is plenty of space to eat, both inside and outside. I would give five stars if Boojum provided nutritional information about the food, as it tastes significant more fatty/oily than competitors.

05/09/2026: Rustic, pleasant atmosphere, WONDERFUL food, 10 out of 10 in everything. We were served by a Brazilian woman named Beatriz, a lovely and very friendly girl, who treated us with great attention and affection, 11 out of 10 for Beatriz. Congratulations!!!!
