The best restaurants in Dublin

02/04/2025: Characteristic local, the chicken is excellent, both the leg and the breast, the chips and side vegetables are good, the drinks on tap are endless, availability and professionalism from the staff. I recommend this place.

01/04/2025: This place is a kip! I ordered food and had nothing for 30 minutes. Everyone else at my table got their food before me. I asked many times when it was ready and they ignored me.Avoid!!!

11/04/2025: Popped in for a pre theatre early dinner. I had the calamari which was very thin and dry and I ordered a side portion of frites which were nice. My wife ordered the chicken schnitzel which was an excellent portion size and came with frites. We had a glass of wine and a Peroni 0-0. I wanted desert but after the main course no one came to clear the table, to check on us, or ask if we wanted more drinks or a desert (which looked very nice in the chill display as we left!). €52.50 and I didn’t feel inclined to tip.

20/04/2025: Absolutely shocking, was asked can we change one tv to formula 1 as the football was showing on all 5 television. Politely asked to change the channel and the staff said we cannot because the manager was in having food with his family and refused to even change the channel on 1 television to accommodate the people who wanted to watch f1. CUSTOMERS DONT MATTER ONLY THE MANAGER AND STAFF DO. I posed this question to the staff memeber and he agreed. Disgraceful place who don’t care about the customers, will take hundreds from a booking of 8 people but can’t change the channel. Avoid at all costs.

13/04/2025: Very good experience. Very friendly restaurant, close to Trinity College, very large quantity if you have children they must have mini ramen. The waiter told us that even he didn't finish the ramen. Pay attention to the spiciness you can take or not.

12/04/2025: The food is actually good for the price, but the service was the worst in Dublin. I arrived for lunch and was waiting for my friends. I sat at the table for about 10 minutes and the restaurant was empty. Several times the waitresses came to ask if I was ready to order my food, and I told them I was waiting for my friends. Soon after that, another waitress came and said if I took any longer I would have to leave the restaurant because I was taking someone else's seat (the restaurant was empty). I would never recommend this place to anyone because of the terrible service.

01/04/2025: Booked 2 rooms for 5 people on two different nights a week apart. Rooms facing front entrance are pretty quiet, rooms facing back (delivery area) are noisy at night with trucks and such. Sink slow was to drain and water not really hot enough in shower in am. Grout had mold and bottom of door rotted (maybe bath flooded?). No one told us that you need a key card in box on wall to keep lights on and when we asked housekeeping in hall how to turn on lights, they claimed not to speak English. Room 123 was VERY hot even with heater off. Other than that, rooms were clean. No free breakfast and, in fact, VERY pricey. Restaurant service REALLY slow (from greeting to bill) and not exactly friendly. Had 4 shuttle rides. Shuttle drivers were gruff or just not friendly (except ONE who was a blast!) Front desk staff not really friendly either, tho they'll answer your questions and such. Hotel is NOT close to anything except airport via shuttle so you'll need a car or Uber. I'd try another hotel if I return to Dublin.

17/04/2025: I'm not usually leaving reviews, but the experience at this restaurant left us quite disappointed. The service at the Jar was really slow, as our order was taken around 20 minutes after we sat down. We got our cocktails fairly quickly after a 15 minute wait, but we waited for an hour for our food (2 pizzas). After asking for our food we were told by the waiters they'd "look into it" but we were not kept updated and eventually our food was brought to us. There was no compensation offered despite the long wait. When we asked for an explanation the answer we got was that there's something wrong with the WiFi/connection between the bar and kitchen. I understand sometimes things happen, but it feels like keeping your customers informed about the situation would be the bare minimum in this case. The food itself was pretty good, as well as the drinks, but because the service was very slow and the music extremely loud (I mean it wasn't possible to carry out a conversation without yelling), I wouldn't come back here. We were excited to have a nice dinner while in Dublin but this left us feeling disappointed.

02/04/2025: I'm vegetarian and unfortunately all the cheeses have animal rennet so they are not vegetarian friendly.

01/04/2025: Got a sunday to be delivered and receive nearly nothing in a coke cup. Very disappointed. What they advertise and what i received was ridicules diferent.

26/03/2025: This is very accommodating as the menue didn't have any vegan options but the waiter gave me the option of a vegan falafel salad. It was quite nice especially the falafel which was quite crispy!

06/04/2025: Stunning food! The staff are so friendly and greet you warmly. The food is always incredible when we get it, the flavours are sublime. We get this takeaway as a real treat to ourselves and it is so worth it every single time. Yum!
