The best restaurants in Dublin

05/01/2025: Delicious lunch options - really simple baguette with high-quality ham and cheese, cornichon and a little bit of dijon. My favourite sandwich, hard to get something in Dublin that isn't smothered in mayo - simple is the best when the ingredients are top quality. Similarly ham and cheese croissant is divine. The only seating they have indoors is high chairs at a high counter - otherwise they have seating outdoors. For days when the weather is bad, I wish they had considered accessibility for all and had low chairs inside - high chairs are not a good option for many people!

15/12/2024: Used to be great but gone massively downhill. Stale pastries every single time. Sad to say you'll get better/fresher croissants in the SuperValu across the road

22/12/2024: A great spot in a trendy and popular area with plenty of space inside. From my experience, I’ve noticed that portions can vary quite a bit. More often than not, when ordering directly at the venue, the portions are larger compared to what you get with delivery. A few times, I’ve received a very small burrito via delivery that felt more like a wrap.

16/12/2024: Dropped in here for Sunday Lunch whilst exploring Howth. This is not on the front so might be overlooked or missed by many - which would be a mistake. Lovely ambience, great choice of beers and food and the Shepherd’s Pie and the Steak & Guinness Pies were lovely. Staff were friendly and welcoming too. Would highly recommend as the prices were great value too.

13/12/2024: We attended a George Michael tribute show Sat 7th Dec in the Abbey Tavern Howth. Great Venue, Full of Forty somethings creating a really good atmosphere. The band played from 8.30 as advertised and finished at 10.30 . They were OK but kept the crowed dancing. A good night out. The main criticism I have is was why after charging €30 in, the house thought it was necessary to serve premium priced beer and wine in Plastic Glasses. A totally unnecessary policy that will only turn customers off returning for more. Venue owners are consistently moaning about what's happening to the night time economy. maybe its time they learned to respect their customers. Getting out of the venue brings you through the bar. There was a guy singing and playing the guitar. We decided to stay as it was still early. The best part of the night by far, He was like a human duke box with a easy laid back delivery. Absolutely brilliant, no cover charge and customers served their drinks in proper glasses. He made a good night, great.

07/12/2024: I have been to all of the San sabs but this was the nicest . The Singapore noodles were so fresh and tasty. The meal for two is excellent value. Staff in all locations are brilliant. Obviously trained very well and care about the customer.

03/11/2024: Love a lazy Saturday afternoon here with friends. The spinach Quiche and vegan flapjack are my faves. Sitting outside on a chilly autumn day watching the world go by or visiting the walled garden to chat with the budgerigars in the aviary is a step out of the usual madness.

28/12/2024: This little gem is outdoors in Fernhill park near Stepaside. It's parked beside the old house which hopefully will be restored before it falls down. We just had hot chocolate and coffees. Service was welcoming, polite, efficient. Lots of seating on well maintained picnic benches. Excellent set up for waste/recycling of cups etc. There is an added bonus of price reduction if you bring your own cup. Prices are very reasonable though. Lovely people!

16/12/2024: Tuve el menú de almuerzo de 3 platos con mi esposa. Sabrosos berberechos y langostinos para empezar, un creativo langostino y fletán en croute compartiendo principal y una gran cucharada de mousse de choc para terminar. Todo servido por personal amable. Lo que no es amar ❤️ 🐟 😋

27/12/2024: Used to be the best around, but lately for whatever reason it’s absolutely terrible, I got two kebabs last week they were awful. I called to inform them and they wanted to send me out another one NO THANKS. Best avoided

15/12/2024: Unfortunately the food has gone really downhill, my wife and I had a doner kebab and both were terrible all lettuce little meat and the worst part was they were both very cold.

19/12/2024: Well the service wasn’t bad but really good. The food took less than 10 minutes to arrive. I ordered a spicy bag kids meal. I also ordered two kebabs chips and two drinks. There was a special offer which made it cost €10 which is really nice. The food was tasty there was unlimited sauce. The staff for excellent never seen staff better than that. As in the kitchen, it was pretty clean. I asked for salt they gave it straight away. The atmosphere was very nice as you could eat freely, it’s quiet. One of the best perks is free parking. I would highly recommend this place. To the business, thank you very much.

18/12/2024: I’m not one to leave bad reviews very often, but I feel this is necessary, after working in the hospitality industry for years. I had heard good things about this restaurant, but left very underwhelmed. Food was pretty average quite plain, but I will say one or two nice courses. I know tasting menus are small but we’ve had many before and there was much more food and more filling, we went and got a slice of pizza after to fill up. Service was a bit all over the place, had 5/6 different people look after us, felt very rushed, some didn’t even know what they put down in front of us and couldn’t explain what it was. Quite unprofessional staff, leaning on tables during payment, not giving fresh cutlery, we weren’t asked how things were etc. the little things that make the experience, weren’t done. Also quick note I’ve seen it on another review, waiting staff with long nails feels very unhygienic but I suppose that’s up to company policy. As mentioned above the women collecting payment was leaning on the table, she had said hi and was happy coming to the table but never asked how everything was and once she realized we weren’t giving a tip on card the mood hit the floor and she didn’t say anything in the few minutes of collecting payment which was a bit awkward. I then decided not to leave the cash tip i intended on doing. So overall pretty bad experience for leaving €140 there, for just food for two and no alcohol, feels like a waste. If the service would have been better, we’d consider going back for a different theme because the food has potential. But I think because the service wasn’t great I’d find it very hard to justify going back. I’m very sorry to leave a bad review I really am and this isn’t to get anyone in trouble it’s more to help the restaurant and hopefully they can improve because the concept is such a good idea!

17/12/2024: Food is scrumptious. We did find it a little on the noisy side but wonderful tastes with highly complimentary wines, seemed to drown out any dissonance.
