23/08/2026: I would like to thank the flexibility and kindness towards La Peniche as they make it possible to surprise my friends. Please see below my friends' recommendations. " Overall, we had a really lovely experience. First of all, we both thought the food was very good. We really enjoyed the starters, especially the chicken vol-au-vent and the prawns with pickled tomatoes. For the main courses, we had the halibut and the duck leg, and we enjoyed both of them. The desserts were lovely as well. One of the highlights for us was going out onto the deck and watching the boat go through the lock. It was really interesting to see the gates close and the water level rise, and we really enjoyed the view from the deck. It made the whole experience feel a bit more special and different from a normal restaurant. We also thought everything was very well organised. From taking our orders to the timing of each course being served, everything went smoothly and we never felt rushed. Overall, the combination of the food, the service and the experience on the boat made it a really enjoyable evening. " " Great restaurant, wonderful experience. The boat slowly rises as it moves up the canal, which is really unique. The food was excellent too. We finished our starters, went out to watch the boat rise, and came back just in time for the main course – perfect timing. Highly recommended!"

12/06/2026: As long coffe is nice, service is super slow. I ordered extra hot coffe, because is never hot enough. And I got the same. I refused wait for another one because takes ages, so I just asked to top up with hot water. Girls are nice, but totally lost and slow. I think I will start avoid this place because of unbelievable waiting time.

14/09/2026: Super small pasty shop with a handful of counter-style seats past the sales area. The pasties themselves are very good. My wife got a traditional and I got the cheese and bacon. They have a condiments bar with all sorts of sauces and toppings. Being in Temple Bar, you know the prices are going to compensate for this, but it's nice to be able to hop in and grab something while all of the restaurants around it are packed with waits.
