03/06/2025: Over priced and Guinness tasted awful worst pint in Dublin and most expensive.

15/07/2025: Great pub and great restaurant at the other door - our party got the steak sandwich, the chicken schnitzel, the duck stir fry, carbonara special, and the chicken Caesar salad. Everyond said their food was great and the pints of Guinness and Beamish were good as well

05/07/2025: Me and my friend came here hungover looking for some good soakage and comfort food and were greatly satisfied. I had a lovely stew and my friend really enjoyed the noodles. We both treated ourselves to fab desserts, the crumble and sticky toffee, the sticky toffee was delish and could have been even nicer if it had been heated. Portion sizes were perfect too. They have a great choice honestly anything you want they’ll have it as they have all the staple dishes on the special’s list aswell. Great location too and very helpful staff, couldn’t recommend more :))

12/07/2025: We were here for dinner after a busy day. The vibe is good, great music. The vegetarian food is just okay. Not a lot of options and very expensive. The service was good and ambiance was great too.

11/07/2025: Vanilla iced latte was nice. Got the avocado and poached eggs, the avocado was sour and absolutely ruined the meal for me, horrible taste. Scrambled eggs were good.

19/06/2025: My wife and I visited a university friend of our daughters while in Dublin and we ate at Al Vesuvio. Our daughter’s friend had opted for Italian and reserved a table. We arrived slightly early and were placed near the pizza oven, which in retrospect, was good for the restaurant but not for us. We ordered calamari fritti and my reaction was that they had been microwaved out of a frozen bag and there weren’t many of them. Our daughter’s friend ordered the linguine with King prawns, my wife had the salmon and I had the Saltimbocca a la Romana, which is one of my favourite Italian dishes and an “acid test” for the restaurant as this dish is hard to do well. Our daughter’s friend’s King prawn dish only had four prawns in the linguine, which was shocking. My wife’s salmon was OK but there were absolutely no side vegetables served with any of the dishes. We had to order green salads at extra cost. My Saltimbocca a la Romana was simply a piece of veal with sliced prosciutto on top - a major disappointment, actually a joke. To make matters worse, we waited for an hour for our meals to be served after ordering. In addition, while I was ordering red wine for the table, the waiter was constantly trying to upsell me to a more expensive bottle, a rude experience I have never seen before. He failed even after several attempts. All of the staff appeared to be non-Italians, when I used a few expressions in Italian, they had no idea what I was talking about. So, in summary, the restaurant was extremely hot, the food was sub-par and there didn’t appear to be anyone with Italian cooking skills on staff. It was also very expensive! My advice is to absolutely avoid this restaurant at all costs

16/06/2025: Glorious little Italian restaurant hidden down a back street. Stone oven pizza was lovely and the pasta was beautiful too. Nice atmosphere and cheaper than a lot of other restaurants in Temple Bar.

10/07/2025: You will be shouted at and I mean shouted at for having outside food in the pub hours after kitchen has closed - understand not wanting a mess but I don't drink so clearly wouldn't have made a mess, barman could have politely asked for me not to eat. Will know for next time militant barman will shout at you for looking at him funny.

15/06/2025: I brought my father back to the hideout after a long absence due to illness recently - I am still coming to terms with the welcome he received - the staff in the hideout are now my number one for kindness, attentiveness and generosity! It’s nice to know that in these cynical times we can still treat each other with such decency - your welcome made a huge difference to my mom and dad and to me! well done Hideout and all your team - my favourite place to eat out in Kildare from now on! (The food, as always, was delicious!)

13/07/2025: Had an excellent meal there today, Looked after by Nicola and her team , served up to 40 of us , lovely food great staff if we needed more they were only to happy to help in any way, worth the money, and we will be booking again shortly caint wait thank you Palmerston house pub John brady.

02/06/2025: Good sandwiches but shambles of a system. Don't bother ordering in advance for collection. We arrived 5mins after the collection time, had to wait 10mins while the one poor woman serving had to take every order and make a load of coffees got to us so we could give our order number. Despite being 10-15mins after the collection time we were told "2mins", it was 10. Coffee culture has evolved to the point that people order like they're explaining heart surgery procedures, and usually ordering for 2/2/4. It's not fair to have just one member of a staff handing orders while also making all of these coffees. Poor woman. Sort your system out, and protect your staff.

19/06/2025: The lovely staff were so nice! I had an affogato which was scrumptious and prepared me to swim afterwards for an hour at the Forty Foot. Highly recommended!
