Mespil Hotel
Dublin
21/05/2026: Lovely stay at the Mespil.
Great rooms and excellent breakfast.
Quite location (15-20 minutes from centre) but plenty of great restaurants around.
18/05/2026: If ever in Dublin n u want a hotel that is really modern n nice... but close enough to walk OR even catch a Hop On Hop Off bus at St Stephens Green... go for this Hotel.
The room was amazing n the staff were so friendly n helpful, it made my stay so welcoming in Dublin.
The Breakfast Buffet had such a great selection AND I could even order a Cappuccino or a Latte! Not brewed coffee!
Cocktail at the Bar was good too.
The Mespil Hotel to me, was a home away from home (I am from Australia).. n the establishment certainly understands the value of making guests feel this.
If I ever came back to Dublin this will be the hotel I will stay in. Highly recommended.

Riba
Dublin
16/05/2026: Fab choice for an earlybird meal before cinema next door- pizza and service both superb!
10/05/2026: A most enjoyable experience. We had prawns in creamy sauce, olives, fillet steak, pork ribs and chocolate/hazelnut dessert were all delicious. The staff were very friendly, efficient and accomodating, even allowing us to choose a main course off the dinner menu even though we were having lunch. We've passed by this restaurant so many times and finally dropped in to support a local independent restaurant. Very glad we did, we love eating out at restaurants that care about their food and customers. Highly recommend.

Searsons
Dublin
30/11/2025: My wife, my son and I stayed in Dublin two weeks ago, when we were over from England for the Ireland v Australia rugby game. We were in Searsons on Friday and Saturday and loved it. Its true what they say, the Guinness tastes better in Ireland. We were made to feel very welcome at Searsons and would like to especially mention a member of staff - Muirin who was fabulous.
We will definitely be back for another Ireland game and be sure to visit Searsons again.
28/11/2025: Very cool place and a great piece of History! Awesome vibe!

John Kavanagh The Gravediggers
Dublin
03/01/2026: Great old Dublin pub, a must visit when in Dublin. Great atmosphere, excellent service and nice food at very good prices
01/01/2026: Nice bar with authentic old school features. Appreciated the lack of TV's and music. The Bar staff were indifferent at best and the vitamin G was just fine but not outstanding. Kitchen was closed so could not try the food, chef apparently is in "rehab"!

Boss Stop Restaurant
Dublin
01/12/2025: Better value elsewhere. I ordered the Char siu pork and was surprised to see that rice was not included. For a €25 dish it’s disappointing having to pay another €4.50 just for a small bowl of rice. Any other restaurant I’ve been to has included rice as standard with a main dish like that.
The portion size of pork was good, but my food was barely warm when I received it. Disappointed
01/12/2025: The staff were very polite and helpful. The starter was quite good, and the beef dumpling was very tasty, although the bottom wasn’t crispy. The prawn toast and its sauce were excellent. The pork noodle soup was hot, delicious, and a large portion. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy my own dish. The lotus roots weren’t for me,there was a strange perfume-like aroma coming from the food. I’d like to come back again to try the noodle soup or dumpling .

Camden Kitchen
Dublin
27/02/2026: Fantastic meal. I had the crab, mussels and cockles risotto to start, followed by duck with dauphinoise potato and celeriac, with rhubarb crumble to finish. Each course consisted of a wealth of different flavours. Good service too.
19/02/2026: Three of us visited mid week for a three course set menu.
We shared some additional sides and a couple of bottles of wine. I don't recall exactly what we paid but it seemed very reasonable considering the quality of the food . The cadence of the service was perfect. Hosts were friendly and informative. We lingered and at no point did we feel rushed... Definitely will return. Oh and the duck was excellent. Loved the turnips .

Davy Byrnes
Dublin
20/05/2026: To be fair, the food was good and we enjoyed it. I also completely understand that this is a business and that table turnover is crucial in busy central locations. However, manners and hospitality still matter. We were already visibly preparing to leave when the staff aggressively dropped a 'Reserved' sign right on our table. It was entirely unnecessary, uncalled for, and felt incredibly disrespectful. There are polite ways to manage table times; treating customers like a number on a conveyor belt is not one of them. Good kitchen, but extremely poor service standards.
20/05/2026: My wife was on a ridiculously nice trip with her mom and sister last year and they wound up having dinner at Davy Byrne’s. She loved Ireland enough she surprised me with a trip here for a ten-day tour and last Sunday when we arrived in Dublin we dropped our bags at the hotel and walked off to Davy Byrne. I have a serious weakness for good Irish pub fare and I’ll be damned if Davy’s beef and Guinness pie was not one of if not the finest I’ve ever had.
We went on our holiday and arrived back to the same overnight home away from home and she had already asked if I wanted dinner in the same place two days ago.
Davy does not disappoint- the first night (Sunday) they had a full house but found us a place outside where we struck up conversation with another couple on their way back home. The service was lovely, the food exceptional.
Not only is the gravy in the pie something that deserves a beautiful Irish folk song or six written in its honor, as they put a simply amazing little secret in the sauce (okay, it’s Chorizo. Not as in Mexican chorizo but the most holy Spanish chorizo which contributes to a sumptuously rich decadence which must be experienced rather than read about,) but they also serve an amazing brown bread.
I’ve just eaten pies all over the country (literally seven in ten days l) and I’ve eaten the freshest and most delectable of bread for thirty meals straight now. I do not exaggerate when I opine Davy Byrne’s brown bread will be spoken of for 700 years or so and then revisited for further discussion.
I feel I must go compose a ballad about the mystical perfection I’m now savoring in my belly as I lie down, virtually unable to move. Yes, in keeping with the Irish tradition, it’s enough food to feed a small family of seven, so I’m nearly incapacitated, but gloriously so.
As a footnote I should mention that the seared spinach was perfectly done, the Guinness tap is in perfect order and the staff again was charming, lovely and entirely on point.
I admit I may have had a wee bit of doubt because it’s in such a touristy area, but there is a very fine reason or a whole bunch of em anyway for the award plaques in the window.
Without reservation I highly recommend Davy Byrne’s, tho I would recommend you make them! We got lucky as walk-ins twice but next time I’ll make them.
Slainte!
