The best restaurants in Dublin

12/12/2024: I prefer the coffee beans from Cool Hand. The milk is sometimes heated too hot and other times it’s too cold. I feel Insomnia is more consistent at my preferred 65 degrees. The music is often too loud. I prefer the volume of the music at Lean Bean. Finally, the owner, I think his name is Simon, is very enthusiastic and tells me to have an AMAZING day. I prefer a quiet Barista.

04/12/2024: The coffee is really excellent but it’s the staff that make this place. Friendly and warm but in a genuine way.

05/01/2026: This place opened 5 years ago or so, in a very central location, so passing it on multiple occasions we were tempted to try it for a festive brunch. It was disappointing on several levels. Food mediocre : cold beans and barely tepid eggs florentine. Rashers not edible. "House" potatoes were greasy little cubes stuck in little greasy pots. Truffle mayo on chips looked like a day old thick sauce on equally spongy chips. When asked to replace the potatoes by brown bread when ordering, the answer was " we don't have brown bread" (this is Dublin !) When asked for a coffee / tea menu, the answer was "we don't have itm just serve breakfast tea, peppermint tea and the usual coffees". My tea was a teabag put into a basket in a pot, tasteless. To top the eating area experience, the floor in the toilet has not seen a brush/wipe for a long long time. We chose this place as an alternative to the Ivy where we usually brunch. Maybe they don't change the menu there too often (hence the idea to try somewhere else) , but everything is always executed perfectly, good and fresh food and great atmosphere and the staff always make you feel special. We definitely will not be returning to Isabelle's.

19/02/2025: Very good level of service. Too many staff casually vaping inside offices and at reception area. Unpleasant sweet smell throughout the place. It's not a great look for general public/customers to encounter.

30/12/2025: Waiter came up to us as and told us it was closing in 10 mins so my girlfriend went to the bathroom quickly. In the mean time, another waiter came up to me and started going crazy about how I have to leave right now and how I should have left already, as if I were meant to grab her handbag and run outside, all while people were still laughing in the bar. Completely ruined the experience. Many locals I know hate him and have switched to the Bald Eagle. Unfriendly airport environment. Would recommend anyone I know not to go here, Bald Eagle has nice staff. You’ll know the staff member when he interacts with you and if he’s there, LEAVE!

12/01/2026: Gorgeous cafe! I used to live close by and I loved to go on a weekend morning for a tea and a scone. The baked goods are delicious and the sanwiches to die for! Not a huge range of food options but what is there is so so good. The vibe is lovely and the staff friendly. Highly recommend!

29/12/2025: Lovely food and we were often visitors till today when a new staff member decided to try to put three of us on a table for two in a -completely- empty sitting area. No water was offered. After 5 minutes wait for someone to collect our order we decided to go somewhere else. ——Updated—— 5 star service today and very nice food!

16/01/2026: I had a lovely breakfast in Kennedy's, Fairview. The pancakes were absolutely delicious. We were looked after by a lovely waitress, Maria. I saw her looking after an older lady. Maria was so kind, helpful and patient. She helped the older lady get sorted with a taxi.

23/12/2025: The place is better than the pictures, it looks really new. They have tables in their 1st floor and the atmosphere is very calm, family friendly. I ordered the pancakes with bacon 🥓 I will come back again for another breakfast 🥞

20/11/2025: Have gone there for breakfast with my friends on numerous occasions. Best French toast !!! Asked Jenny about a cake for My daughter’s 21st . Chocolate biscuit was the preference! It was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend!! Fabulous to deal with - very reasonably priced!!

07/01/2026: We took a day off work to visit Volpe Nera just before Christmas as it came so highly recommended. It lived up to it. Every dish was perfect, the wine delightful and the service flawless. It is a spot for a leisurely meal. Highly recommend booking ahead.

21/11/2025: Absolutely worth leaving central Dublin for. Found this place on Condé Nast and made the 15minute trip down on the dart. It was the first night of the sharing wild Halibut for 2 and was the best fish we have had this year. The fish was brilliantly paired and plenty for two people. The fish was so good the croquettes as a bite and desert could not compare. Great sommelier (€80 bottle of wine and €200 altogether). Proper value for superb quality.

20/10/2025: Lovely decorated cafe with an abundance of gorgeous cakes (haven't eaten any so can't comment) Unfortunately the unfriendly staff, who border on being rude, let's it down every time. The final straw was yesterday, Sunday, when I was left standing at the counter while the young waitress counted money at the till. She made no comment on the delay and totally ignored me. After 3/4 minutes, I gave an exasperated sigh & the male waiter, who was standing nearby, came to take my order. No apology & of course, no smile or comment made. Obviously people go there as it's a nicely decorated cafe with a great array of cakes. But I can take my business elsewhere where the customers are treated with some respect. We are after all, keeping these surly staff in a job

09/10/2025: Hi I love everything about Taste of Province. I come almost every, my family and friends meet me there a lot. One thing that is upsetting is the cleaner, she makes so much noise, pushing the tables and chairs around .

25/02/2025: Enjoyed a meal here for Sunday lunch, I had the roast beef, which was delicious real good cut, my wife had fillet of cod which was also lovely, service was also good and the atmosphere nice also but the big letdown was the price of a glass of wine, €13.50, absolute robbery thus the 3 stars, can’t understand for the life of me how that price can be justified for a glass of wine

11/01/2026: The staff that was working here, the last time I was there. They didn't cook the burger enough, I got food poisoning, Also they was not ringing the order through the till, "And was pocketing the money."
