26/03/2025: Good old pub not modern with is great and a lovely pint of guinness

21/03/2025: The customers were very welcoming to foreign visitors.

13/03/2025: Overpriced. Got an avocado and egg toast for 14 euro. Tiny size, toast is from burger bun. Got lots of egg shell. Disappointed, can’t recommend.

23/03/2025: Nice bar with a carvery, outside smoking area, and a car park at the back. But car park fills up very quickly.

11/04/2025: Popped in for a pre theatre early dinner. I had the calamari which was very thin and dry and I ordered a side portion of frites which were nice. My wife ordered the chicken schnitzel which was an excellent portion size and came with frites. We had a glass of wine and a Peroni 0-0. I wanted desert but after the main course no one came to clear the table, to check on us, or ask if we wanted more drinks or a desert (which looked very nice in the chill display as we left!). €52.50 and I didn’t feel inclined to tip.

04/04/2025: Waiting time to be served was terrible in a not too busy restaurant, we had to call a waiter eventually. Food waiting time was also too long for what we ordered. The fish and chips I ordered came out cold, I suspect from been left on a hot plate for too long to be served, hence our waiting time. I could tell as the side salad had the appearance of seeing better days. Once I brought it to the waiters attention he asked if he could change the chips, but would I like to keep the chips? Having waited a long time for the first time to be served I said ok as we were late to leave for an appointment. To my surprise the chips came back with the fish piping hot, but we saw that they had just thrown them back in the deep fat fryer. You could bounce the chips which were the frozen variety off the wall and the "fresh" fish (also questionable) came out swimming literally in oil. My wife also spotted the kitchen staff asking who left the food back and shaking their heads. To be honest they should be shaking their heads in shame for reheating frozen food for €22.50 and handing it back to a paying customer. If this is what is becoming of the Irish way of selling/cooking food and serving customers then I can understand why people do not return to "restaurants" like this. Management need to shake things up here or it will become another place that will lose customers, and as a result revenue and reputation. Hopefully not go down the road of not listening to customers and having to close their doors instead.

03/04/2025: Food was alright but the service was honestly embarrassing. I got overcharged for food I never ordered and then after asking for the bill, couldn’t get anyone to let me pay for almost 30 minutes, even with flagging down every employee walking past and just got ignored. The tables next to me felt bad and all joined in getting someone over and then I got a nasty attitude and they refused to fix the bill. I just paid because I was done being there but honestly, I can’t recommend this place to anyone.

30/03/2025: Nice place. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. The Hudson big breakfast is the best Breakfast around. Perfect for starting a days shopping or while your waiting for your wife to finish 😁 Have visited several times. Always happy with everything. Loaded truffle & garlic fries are so good. Areas available for party reservation including large room for up to 80 people.

04/03/2025: If I had asked for my takeaway to be served in deluxe presentation - think food bags, tin foil, cardboard boxes, thick brown paper bags - then I'd give 5 stars. But I didnt. €42 for 2x mediocre Hot Dogs & 2x milkshakes - nothing special (apart from the price tag)

01/03/2025: Absolutely fantastic experience at 2Lads! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable. Their cheese balls are top-notch—crispy, flavorful, and simply delicious! I was truly overwhelmed by the excellent service and hospitality. I highly recommend this amazing spot in Dublin to everyone. A must-try!

09/04/2025: Went in on the way to the train station after having a couple of drinks in the city center, I found the Brazilian staff very unfriendly, I think these lads should find another profession if they don't like dealing with half pished Irish people. They seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves then they did in serving paying customers. The toilets were a bit minging too. A few years ago this was a destination Craft Beer pub, now it seems to be a pub for a pint beside the train station, very sad!

Don't let the rustic look of the place fool you as it is a great place for kids and the posters were very much a conversational starter with the young person crowd. The bangers and mash were excellent. The music selection was superb - someone really knew there stuff!

01/04/2025: Booked 2 rooms for 5 people on two different nights a week apart. Rooms facing front entrance are pretty quiet, rooms facing back (delivery area) are noisy at night with trucks and such. Sink slow was to drain and water not really hot enough in shower in am. Grout had mold and bottom of door rotted (maybe bath flooded?). No one told us that you need a key card in box on wall to keep lights on and when we asked housekeeping in hall how to turn on lights, they claimed not to speak English. Room 123 was VERY hot even with heater off. Other than that, rooms were clean. No free breakfast and, in fact, VERY pricey. Restaurant service REALLY slow (from greeting to bill) and not exactly friendly. Had 4 shuttle rides. Shuttle drivers were gruff or just not friendly (except ONE who was a blast!) Front desk staff not really friendly either, tho they'll answer your questions and such. Hotel is NOT close to anything except airport via shuttle so you'll need a car or Uber. I'd try another hotel if I return to Dublin.
