09/07/2026: My daughter ordered a pizza tonight and it didn't arrive, you said it did but it definitely did not. Tried ringing numerous times but was put through to a voicemail saying you were closed at approximately 1-1:30am. I hope you rectify this mistake on your behalf ASAP as my daughter is a regular customer and I would like to see here appreciated for her custom with sides that she often orders. We're very disappointed in your service tonight.

04/04/2026: Really nice food I got a small doner pizza with garlic and chilli sauce on top a bag of chips and a can of coke. I would recommend

01/08/2026: Best pizza in the town. Nice greasy cheesy pizzas, the tomato base is delicious, and they make the best cheese and garlic chips. Always covered in sauce!

01/09/2026: I was really hungry after my long shift and thought to takeaway from this restaurant. So I went through their menu and thought of ordering Spice Bag as it was the safest option I feel instead of trying something new. So I took the spice bag and when I opened it to try It was really dry and there’s nothing spice in that just some chips and salty chicken like no onions and any other ingredients like what we expect in a normal spice bag

21/06/2026: Beautiful cozy hotel, amazing food with a scenery to die for. Haven't stayed over but dining is top class. Staff are very nice and welcoming.

11/06/2026: Great location, right on the wide sandy beach. Parking is available and large enough. The hotel itself is very dated and shabby. That in itself wouldn't be so bad. However, the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The toilet flush only works sporadically. It would be a gem if it weren't so neglected. The reception staff were unenthusiastic. One night is okay due to its proximity to the airport, but definitely not more than that. We didn't use the bar or restaurant. Inadequate value for money.

19/07/2026: Friendly staff delicious ice cream and lemonade

24/06/2026: Ice cream is delicious but the staff are rude and unfriendly. The seating area also was closed at 6.50pm but shop open till 8pm. Seating area is very small so they definitely don’t need to close it over 1hr before shops close. Disappointing. Will be going to the Gem again from now on.

14/10/2026: Closed at 8pm, definitely not 24hrs

11/10/2026: Upstairs toilets not accessible. Downstairs toilet overflowing onto floor. Evidence of urination in sink. Bins overflowing. Staff seemingly demoralised. Customers complaining no condiments. Not a good look.

21/09/2026: Staff couldn't care less, takeaway coffee cups are half to what they used to be but still charge the full price. Talk about cut backs, laughable cup size. Tables are always dirty, floor sticky food everywhere and all the time staff sitting looking on their phones. Just awful

21/08/2025: Had a full irish breakfast here today. Really fresh and tasty with a decent mug of Barry's tea. Highly recommended. The girls serving were very efficient, polite and friendly. Will be back

14/06/2026: I ordered beef fried rice from them around 10:45pm- 11pm, asking them would they be able to deliver it to my house like leave it outside as I won’t be home from work until 1am. They were very attentive and making sure about everything as well. The only thing that I think it’s not good is that the beef fried rice is a little bit bland. Other than that everything is good. Either way , I’m very grateful and thank you for doing it for me.

16/08/2026: Very quick and friendly service. The chicken sandwich was very good. The gourmet burger was okay, nothing special. Prices are in line with those in Dublin. Perfect if you want to stay relaxed at the hotel.

06/08/2026: Just left the Playwright bar now. My son and I were served lovely food in lovely surroundings by one of the best waitresses we have ever had. Despite being so busy she looked after us very well and was having fun with us and other customers as she went about her business. Her name was Julia. We will definitely be back because she created such a great atmosphere.

10/10/2026: This was a bitter disappointment from the cleanliness having to ask two members of staff to clear and clean the table to the attitude of the kitchen. Popped in for a quick coffee and kiddies sausage sandwich was told chef said I would need to order the adults breakfast bap at €10 and remove the beacon, relish and egg myself - quality customer service! Waited 20min for a cappuccino that arrived like a cross between a latte and flat white - certainly wasn’t fresh either. Had to ask for the chocolate dust to which I was handed the container to do myself. Food eventually arrived well overcooked - hard to go wrong merely having a “chef” plating food but this place achieved it. Plenty of staff doing Hyrox or circuits but not work. Doesn’t appear to have much management or direction about the cafe anyways. Completely overpriced for the look quality of food handed out and would be better stopping at an applegreen or centra. Toilets also stinking!!! Not a recommendation if visiting for Malahide!

10/10/2026: Today I was in the till to pay for my items, and the cashier spoke so quickly that I couldn’t understand him. I politely explained that I don’t speak English (I’m a tourist), but instead of trying to help me, he started laughing at me. Some of the people waiting in line behind me joined in, while I was just standing there trying to understand what was going on. The saddest part is that, rather than speaking more slowly to help me understand, he deliberately started speaking even faster, which only encouraged the people behind me to keep laughing. It’s incredibly disappointing that your staff would treat someone this way, especially in a situation where there’s clearly a language barrier. All I wanted was to understand how to pay for my food and leave. Something so simple and universal, no matter where you are in the world. I would absolutely not recommend this place to foreigners, especially those who don’t speak English fluently.

01/07/2026: 15.50 for a small bottle of coke and a fresh cod. Hadn't the decency to throw in one or two chips. Chippers in rush and balbriggan much better. Has to be the most expensive chipper in dublin. 5 euro for a bag of chips and a whopping 12.50 for a fish on its own. Daylight robbery.

07/10/2026: We came in for a drink after having dinner at the other restaurant on site. After my 20Eur Old Fashion arrived the manager came over and told us to leave!!! He said the bar was for those waiting to be seated to eat. Except the kitchen was closed and there were still many tables still eating. He asked me “ who said you can come in here and have a drink?” Like I was on trial. He has no right being in the hospitality business.

27/09/2026: Had dinner here, wasn't expecting that much based on the current rating. But for a hotel restaurant this is actually great! I ordered a pizza because the American couple next to me was raving about it, saying it was the best pizza they ever had. While i wouldn't go that far (i've been to Naples) it was actually one of the better pizza's i've had. Service was fast and friendy. Had the arancini as a starter and it was tasty (good tomato sauce). The tiramisu is very tasty as well.
