25/08/2026: Won't be back I'm afraid. Unfortunately discovered dead ants in a vinegar bottle after it had been poured on our food. Photo attached. After bringing this to the attention of staff we did get a new portion of chips (though our other food got colder while waiting). We were not offered any discount on our bill so we certainly won't be back.

01/09/2026: We visited on a Sunday and had to wait around 40 minutes, but the food was absolutely worth the wait. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious, and I especially loved the pancakes! We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend this place.

Serving Breakfast, Brunch and Dinner their menus are carefully selected - with ingredients locally sourced. Their famous brown bread is worth purchasing before you leave. If something doesn't feel right they'll willingly offer a solution. Disappointment is not on this Team's menu so catch their eye for a win/win. Plenty of additional space too for small weddings, office occasions, barbecues etc with indoor and outdoor seating. This is a destination venue with a nice and calming atmosphere.

02/07/2026: This is a fabulous pub! We visited when it was very quiet, on a mid-week early afternoon, so we kinda had the place to ourselves. The barman was very attentive, friendly, helpful and happy to chat and answer any questions we had. Great decor, nice chilled atmosphere. The beers we had (Smithwicks & Beamish) were absolute beauties! Quality beer, well kept! Highly recommend this place, fantastic!

22/08/2026: Bustling and cosy for mid morning coffee and cake on a Tuesday 😃I had an excellent oat cappuccino with a delicious slice of lemon drizzle (gluten free). My Mam had a latte and flaky croissant. It was all lovely and the servers were friendly and helpful 😃

23/08/2026: Visited The Gallion with mixed group of family, for the first time in a couple of years. I used to visit regularly however, I am disappointed to say that it has gotten very run down, sticky floors, old run down toilet, underlying smell of grease from the kitchen, old tatty menus. The staff were lovely, however the food was hit and miss, children’s burger bundy was rock hard, some sauces for wings very sweet resembling shop bought! Children menu for under 10’s is ridiculous, mains stating at 9.99 to 13.99 and a little jelly and ice-cream is and extra €5.50. It’s gone from being a fabulous place to eat to an outdated run of the mill place to grab a bite. Pity

16/08/2026: brilliant nothing wrong with it , honestly i the food was amazing and well presented the service was lovely , specially this one lady who was so nice towards us and finally the atmosphere was good it was no where near chaotic in there and the music being played was a good selection of songs. and each member of staff is grateful for your visit here.

09/07/2026: Small restaurant, in places where i will never aspect to be... very good and quick service, Starter wings one of my best wings in Ireland! Crispy scin, soft meat and tasty, Pad Thay ceispy duck with noodles also amazing a lot flavour, Good size portion, I will recommend this place to everyone who want to try good Thay food!!! I will come back there definitely!!!
