27/06/2025: Food was delicious! Our server was so great- had great recommendations for the table, asked about timing and allergies to accommodate our large group that included kids. Also provided little toys and coloring pages. Would definitely recommend for groups!

02/07/2025: How is their rating so high? We, a party of 4, ordered 8 tapas. 6 came out a a decent time. The remaining 2 came out long after we were done. We wanted to leave. When we asked a waitress, we got the yeah we know they will be right out. One came out 5 minutes later (elote), horrible frozen style corn with sauces that didn’t improve the dish. Then a while later we received the papas bravas. Bland, thrown together fried new potatoes that should have taken 5 minutes actually turned out to be close to an hour. Drinks: when you order a margarita you expect the glass to be full or at least just below the salted rim. The first one looked like someone to a big swig before delivering it to us. The second one was not as bad, but not a full glass. The Cachaça drink was not bad. The end: by the time we received the last two tapas, we were dying to leave. Not a wait-staff to be found. I finally had to get up and go to the manager/host, and ask for the bill. He asks ‘how was everything’, I explained my point of view and he apologized, blamed it on the kitchen, and said they would do better next time. Shame. So much potential. BTW, I asked a question at the end of the evening to the party, ‘what was your favorite bite of food tonight, one said the Fanta she drank after the restaurant and another said the ice cream we picked up at Murphy’s Thanks for the laugh Molly, (a funny ‘bouncer’ at Murphy’s).

21/06/2025: This restaurant is a must! I set out to have fish and chips in every city we visited on our UK vacation. This was the fifth restaurant I ordered it and it was by far the best! Perfect cooked and a large portion. My wife had the salmon and said it was spectacular. For dessert we had a tart made of Biscoff shortbread cookies and it was amazing. It is a very relaxing environment and the wait staff is very friendly. Definitely a must visit!

13/07/2025: Always a go to for fresh and crispy fish and chips in Gaillimh. The pub meets chipper vibe always works well in the west of Ireland, something that never seems to replicate in the rest of the country. I no longer drink alcohol , but one time I always enjoyed a tin of something with my grub. For now 7up free does the trick. The paper straws are useless though, turned into mush a few síps deffo need about 3 for one drink, futilite effect. That is the only meh about the experience. McDonagh's is always a hit, never a miss. One of my mates is a Dubs Dub and my last visit he was was sorts of excited to see ray on the menu, he treated us to the works and for me it was my first time to taste this fish, synonymous with Dublin cuisine and it was bleedin delish. There is a knack to getting through to the flesh and by-passing the cartilage which came away with ease. The batter was fantastic - perfect crispy, chips all sorts of proper order, tartar sauce tart and péas mushy! Sitting outside in the shade as the mercury hit 30° meant we could eat our grub in relative comfort. The Latin Quarter is a vibe and McDonagh's an institution within that space, an 'ag ithe amuigh' experience that encapsulates what the City of Tribes has to offer!!!

04/07/2025: The staff are amazing, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! And the gluten free options are fantastic! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

30/06/2025: Delicious Margherita pizza! It was missing the basil, but my daughter said she didn't mind. 😆 Fast service! It was ready sooner than estimated. The proper restaurant is where to go to eat it ultra-fresh, but this is a close second.

03/07/2025: I have just appointed Aga as my official Galway barista. I've had trouble ordering piccolo size in Ireland, and Aga was able to explain that the more common term in Ireland is a Spanish reference ...cortado...meaning half espresso, half milf. Perfect Aga, I'll be back!!

24/06/2025: Terrific cafe! Service was great. We came in with a party of 10 and the staff was so helpful in seating us and getting in such a large order quickly. All of the food was great, and the coffees were some of the best we’ve ever had. Definitely stop in if you have the chance!

19/06/2025: The place is well-kept, small and cozy. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. The food was a pleasant surprise. Not too spicy.

31/05/2025: Food was absolutely delicious! Everything my family got was extremely good. For desert, we got the cheesecake, tiramisu, and gelato, and those were SO good! The cheesecake was light and creamy, the tiramisu was nice and moist and delicious, and the gelato, especially the strawberry, was very fresh and tasty.

18/05/2025: It's a beautiful pub, and the atmosphere was fantastic. There were two young musicians playing Irish music. Unfortunately, it was very crowded, and we had to stand for a while. Everyone was very friendly, so we were seated relatively quickly. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We didn't eat there, so I can't rate it.

13/07/2025: We were very disappointed with our stay. Our room had no air conditioning, making it extremely uncomfortable and hard to sleep in. We were given a small desk fan, but it wasn’t enough, and reception said there was nothing else they could do. The view from our room was just a big dirty shed (photo attached), with a filthy window ledge and poor maintenance outside. Inside the room, there was sellotape holding a rip in the wallpaper, which shows the lack of care for upkeep. Overall, this was not the experience we expected and we would not stay again. It’s a shame, as the location was good, and have to say a lot of the staff I found to be pleasant too.

12/06/2025: Got my son’s christening cake here and I have to say it tasted so delicious and everyone was asking where I got it. Highly recommended. We went for raspberry and white chocolate.
