13/10/2025: I can’t thank the team at Il Vicolo enough for making my proposal night so special. From the first email I sent to plan the engagement, Reena and Eleonora were incredible—so friendly, organised and thoughtful alongside with the other staff working on the night who set up a beautiful private spot on the outdoor terrace after our meal so I could propose to my partner, and made the whole evening feel effortless and one we will never forget. The entire staff were just amazing as well: attentive, friendly, informative and really went above and beyond for not only us but all the customers whilst I was there. The food was outstanding—authentic Italian flavours, perfectly cooked pasta, amazing wines and beers—and every detail felt crafted with care. Il Vicolo will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you’re looking for incredible italian food in Galway, warm service, and a team who truly go above and beyond this is a must and we cannot wait to come back! I cannot thank you guys enough! 12/10/2025: I was really disappointed with my visit. The portion sizes were small, and the food came out cold. We tried to flag someone down to mention it, but no one seemed available or attentive. I understand it can get busy during the lunch rush, but the experience was frustrating and left me pretty annoyed. Not what I would expect from a popular establishment. At least the portion of beans gave me a laugh. Would not recommend or return

16/10/2025: This place was one of our favourite stops on our Galway pub crawl. The vibes were HIGH and the acoustic performers were absolutely brilliant and got everyone out on the dance floor with their mix of songs. Special shoutout to the fantastic CARA on bar who made hands down one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had in my life! She was so kind, beautiful and talented with the cocktails she deserves all the praise in the world! Thanks for making our 1 night in Galway so special!

16/10/2025: This place was so fun to enjoy for a night. The staff was attentive and friendly and the crowd was very energetic with the music. We very much enjoyed our night here.

24/08/2025: Popped in for some lunch on 23/8/25 around 12:45pm. Came directly off a 2 and a half hour train, ordered some food, lovely polite lady server with glasses. Went to use the bathroom and upon washing my hands, a cleaner girl came in. I nicely asked her how to use the soap (I can be a bit dim) and she told me how. I thanked her but she didn't respond to that, not even a "you're welcome/no problem" - I brushed it off, no big deal. As I was washing my hands, she started cleaning the mirror next to me - I'd no problems there. I needed to brush my hair and needed to use the mirror in front of me. (The mirror next to me was in front of the other sink I wasn't using - two sinks and two mirrors in bathroom). As I took my brush out she just stood there staring at me, I nicely told her I'd be really quick and she stormed out of the room in a huff and puff. Absolutely out of order. I'm a paying customer, am I not allowed fix my hair for a minute? Never had such an odd, uncomfortable encounter anywhere haha. The toilets were quiet and completely clean so I double don't understand the attitude. Food was great though.

13/10/2025: Not great if I'm being honest. Very strange vibe in here, in my opinion. Food wasn't the greatest. Blue cheese dip wasn't nice. One child didnt touch his hot dog as he said it was horrible. Chips are way to chunky and dont have a nice flavour. Everything actually was just a bit off. Ordered 20 wings for 25 euro. Some chicken was still pink. I didn't complain because being honest I just wanted to get out of there. I will say the staff are friendly. I was offered a take away box leaving for the wings but I didn't want to eat them never mind take them away..very over priced for the quality you recieve. Strange experience and to be honest when the food came out, I just broke into a fit of laughter. So look I laughed inside the premises for a good ten minutes. That was my highlight of the place. Its a no from me.

06/10/2025: A little gem. They specialize in burgers and fries. Bring your appetite as the burgers are very large. Good food, great friendly service.

16/09/2025: Very good, really loved it a lot. We tried there Gino’s oreo choc waffle though it is little pricey but it tasted really good. And the icecreams are so tasty with all new unique flavours there😍

10/12/2024: My favourite bakery/cafe in Galway! The made to order celebratory cakes are divine, especially the signature chocolate gateaux. Thank you to all the amazing staff!

13/10/2025: Very nice, small Italian restaurant, with daily specials. The food was excellent, but the service was a bit spotty. We stuck with the specials. My wife had the duck, and I had the Seabass. We shared the profiterols for dessert. Definitely recommend reservations.

16/10/2025: We had dinner here tonight and would absolutely come back if we had more time in Galway. The food was amazing, the staff was super kind and accommodating. (We got in to the city very late and found this place right before they closed. They didn’t complain or try to make us go faster.) A fantastic kid friendly dinner choice for families!

07/10/2025: Had been recommend this pub for visit down at the weekend. Was really looking forward to going in and seeing what had been described as a wonderful experience. This could not be further from the truth. Every bar we attended over the weekend we had an amazing experience, but the staff in this great looking pub were single handedly the most ignorant people I have ever encountered. Manners goes a long way. We witnessed them give off to customer after customer. We didn’t even finish our pints and left.

01/09/2025: Pad Thai was abundant with ingredients and delicious. My boyfriend had Kao Kiuk Gra Prow I think. Both recommend. He also ordered the Tom Yam prawn soup, which was nice also. Do reserve a table, we were glad we did

19/08/2025: The food was incredible here! The staff were lovely and friendly, service was great. We managed to book a table last minute. Glad we did as super busy in there. Great location in Galway too. Would 100% recommend!

24/09/2025: What can I say. Saw the great reviews and thought it would be a great experience. I ordered a Burger as people seemed to Rave about them. It was 13.50 for what I can only describe as 2 American style greasy patties of poor quality in a bun with very little to write home about. Suddenly McDonalds and Supermacs seem like gourmet restaurants. The plain chips at 5 Euro were plain but crisp and hot so it's only saving grace. Paid 50c for a pint of Miwadi orange which would be ok if they added a little more orange. SO disappointed with the food after so many good reviews. Certainly one of the poorest experiences I've ever had in Galway.

20/09/2025: Probably the best place in Galway. The sticky chicken was TO DIE FOR and the Brie balls were delicious. The cocktails were super tasty as well. Also, the staff members were really friendly and you didn’t have to wait long to get served. I can really recommend this place.
