The best restaurants in Galway

30/11/2025: The food here is amazing! We booked it as we were in Galway for the day and couldn’t get a table in the town centre were all busy. Glad we didn’t as I have had 100s of thai and Vietnamese meals and this was one of, if not the best I have ever had. We were a bit nervous as it is on an industrial estate but don’t be as the food is amazing. We were a party of 5 and we all raved about the dishes we had chosen. We were over from the UK visiting Irish friends and we had driven from Portlaoise and the joke is now, we will always want to go to Galway because of the quality of this food every time we visit. If you live near Galway and like Thai/Vietnamese food, don’t bother with the town centre, go here! We spent £31 per head but only one of us was drinking alcohol so €30-40 per head I would say

01/01/2026: We had a lovely evening in Blakes on 29th December. Staff were lovely and food was excellent.

28/11/2025: My wife and I stopped in for breakfast prior to a trip. The older gentleman behind the bar was absolutely wonderful. He was engaging, funny and at times I bit humorous with stern suggestions that were spot on. The mini breakfast was still filling and the tea here was perfect. The atmosphere here was great for visitors and we felt at home in no time. Before leaving the older gentleman asked what our plans were and offered advice on which route to take on our trip to better see Ireland and what it offers. This advice did not disappoint and ended up being one of our favorite experiences on our trip.

02/07/2025: without a doubt the best coffee shop in Galway. You won’t find a place like it! They always have such an interesting rotation of different coffees and they’re always delicious!

01/01/2026: Perfect for a family break close to the city. Son loved pool, kids club and spacious reception area. Staff were friendly and excellent service. Great stay.

22/01/2026: Stopped here for drinks and dinner. The food was good! The music cannot be beat. A very fun pub to check out when visiting.

22/01/2026: Stopped in for a non alcoholic Guinness and to listen to some music. Vibe was very kick back and relaxed. Not rowdy or annoying. Enjoyed the hour I spent there.

01/11/2025: Not celiac friendly... Reason: cross contamination possible. I come here to have gluten free fries. I'm celiac it always was great. Last time I think I had the bottom of the cone of my take away chips and I think I accidentally ate that crispy onion that maybe isn't gluten free. BTW I asked my fries with rosemary salt + Garlic Aioli. So the sauce is gluten free chips too. So what I wanted to say I have symptoms for today sore belly and itchy hands.

08/01/2026: Really cosy, friendly staff, have cute Christmas decoration and ole ty of space. They have a great selection of beers and seating arrangements. Perfect for tourists and locals alike. Really friendly place in town that's a staple.

07/01/2026: Came here while in Galway for new year.. we both had the fillet steak and pepper sauce.. to say this is the best steak I have ever tasted would be an understatement..

23/12/2025: Really good food, coffee and staff. The staff are friendly and the service is great. They are accommodating and happy to help. The outdoor covered seating area is very uniquely decorated, and very much adds to the atmosphere. The decor lives up to the cafe name. They provide blankets and heaters so no worries about being cold. The vegan options are delicious, as is the coffee and sweet treats

11/01/2026: I haven't been here in a number of years, I was stunned by the redecorated bar, stylish high tables and seats. Great selection of drinks at the bar. Great service. Really, really impressed. I'll definitely be back. I had a delicious White Hag Nitro Red Ale.

22/01/2026: First I asked for a drinks menu and the waitress said they “didn’t have one” but I could see a cocktail list placed on the fireplace? Then despite it being fairly quiet and seemingly enough staff on we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food and had to remind the bar about our drinks (just pints) after over 15 minutes. The table next to us ordered 5 minutes earlier and were finished eating before we got any food. No check-in or apology for the wait and food was dropped to our table without a word, had to call over staff ourselves to ask for condiments, more drinks, desserts menu, and to order dessert. Food is nice but inattentive service ruined it, shame cause we came back after our first time here was so good

22/10/2025: Location was wonderful. the staff was very kind and tried to be as helpful as possible… Rooms were very outdated, extremely dusty/musty, beds very uncomfortable, Wi-Fi didn’t work half the time & AC was broken with inability to be fixed. The room also smelled terribly of a nursing home which did not dissipate at all with our windows open for two days.

21/10/2025: Such a great spot! I was visiting Galway for a few days with my family, and we could not have picked a better location. All the staff were so kind. Henrique at reception in particular was incredibly helpful and very fun to converse with.
