Oscars Seafood Bistro
Galway
17/03/2025: I had high hopes for this restaurant, and the meal started off well. The fish soup was rich and flavorful, and the mackerel was fresh and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there.
The main courses were disappointing—lacking the same care and quality as the starters. The scallop dish was over salted and lemon sole which was floured before cooking seemed to be cooked in burnt butter. There was very little choice for gluten-free diners, and to make matters worse, there were no gluten-free desserts on the menu at all.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly and attentive, but sadly, that wasn’t enough to make up for the underwhelming meal. Overall, it was not an experience I would repeat.

Jungle Cafe Galway
Galway
20/03/2025: Love the food here. Have followed the cafe for 2 years I would say now. Portions have gotten smaller the last few times I went which is a let down.
I could not get over the price of the acai bowl and extra for peanut butter, and it again has gotten smaller.
Would hate to see this place go downhill
19/03/2025: Best coffee in Galway. The Santiago cake was delicious as was the chocolate almond croissant…yum!!!

23/03/2025: So much history in this place...we stayed for a while!
22/03/2025: It's very large and has several different rooms. We couldn't eat because that was in a different area, but we had a few pints.

Hooked
Galway
04/02/2025: Nice and cozy small restaurant. The oysters were delicious!

Monroe's
Galway
20/03/2025: Fab staff fab food and music but ladies toilet needs attention. One of three toilets out-of order and one dryer ooo also. Not good enough considering the turnover.
12/03/2025: Went here last week with my brother. The atmosphere was 10/10 and staff were very friendly. The garlic bread is unmatched along with the garlic dip. Had one of the best pizzas in Ireland you could find. Will definitely be back

Seven Bar
Galway
01/03/2025: Terrible service, they charged me for horrible rum and didn't want to exchange for something else even though I didn't drink it. They told me it was rum, I'm sure it was gasoline
24/02/2025: Popularly known for their bar, dinner and sports screenings, but a great (late) breakfast spot as well.

Menlo Park Hotel
Galway
11/02/2025: Pretty good hotel staff very good
20/01/2025: We had lunch here last Saturday 18/01/25. Most of the Menu is Coeliac friendly, and the food is really great. I had Lamb Shank, and it was perfectly cooked, just falling off the bone. My dining companions had Fish and Chips. Both were deep fried in oil that was separate, so no cross contamination. The other two had Pork 3 ways and we're very happy with it. The service was faultless, thank you Darragh! We will be back

Coffeewerk + Press
Galway
19/02/2025: Quite possibly the best coffee in Ireland made with true love. Really funky clean Scandi vibes place with a design studio, art and books on two upstairs levels, and cool music playing. We had a flat white, cortado and short Americano, each of which was perfect. If I lived in Galway I would go every day.
18/02/2025: Galway’s hidden gem offers an amazing specialty coffee experience. I tried their espresso and filter coffee, and I was thoroughly impressed with the espresso. They have a wide variety of filter options available on their retail shelf, and they’re always busy, so be prepared to wait. It’s a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts looking for a great coffee experiment.

Rouge
Galway
20/03/2025: We toured castles all day and rolled into town around 8:40, hungry af. We also had been wanting to find something nice, as we all had birthdays recently. The magic of finding Rouge elevated our whole trip to another level. The food was incredible but the service was the most hospitable I have ever had. Arianna was so welcoming and didn’t rush us at all. She saw to it that we felt like we were VIP. We never wanted for anything, and her recommendations were amazing. Richie and Otto were cooking and they had extensive knowledge of the menu and showed such passion for the food. As Richie said “it’s a family and you’re part of it now”. We ordered the beef fillet and the the sirloin but also got the full course. Every single thing was perfect. The pulled beef, the cod balls, the sweet potato, the mushroom 🤤 But again, it was the service that made this experience worth coming back. As long as Arianna is there, I promise to return. Its ear her passion and love for the place are what made it worth writing this review. Thank you Ariana and Rouge! This is the number one place in Galway and will feed you late and make you feel at home!
13/03/2025: We love Rouge, it’s always busy and deserves to be.
The menu is small, however what they do they do very well.
The amuse bouche to start was plentiful and tasty, we both had fillet steak, perfectly cooked and cut like butter, the dauphinois potatoes rich in cream and garlic and the salad super fresh. We shared the most delicious crème caramel to finish, so light and so tasty.
The staff are delightful, the lady in charge was lovely, she worked the restaurant seamlessly and efficiently.
The only reason that we have taken one star off is because of a misunderstanding with a dietary requirement which meant that the amuse bouche could only be eaten by one of us. That said, the situation was very professionally dealt with.
Highly recommended.

56 Central
Galway
04/03/2025: All was good, the Burger I took was one of the best I’ve eaten so far, the loaded fries with it were also very good and all of this is was very tasty.
Service was also perfect, didn’t wait a lot (maybe because I arrived at around 13:30).
The floor wasn’t very clean but it was alright.
For the price, may seems expansive but it’s definitely worth it !
21/02/2025: We didn’t actually eat here, we were too late for the breakfast but the manager was so so sound and gave us recommendations. The place was spotless also.

16/03/2025: Tarte Tatin is delicious! We've been coming here for almost 20 years now and has always been a lovely quiet cafe with great atmosphere and food.
09/03/2025: The Nutella crepe is a 10/10. Not too sickly, but plenty of Nutella and a lovely thin crepe! Delish
