14/09/2026: Fantastic experience! We had high expectations and they really delivered. Oysters were fresh and delicious. Very interesting menu, different versions of classics. The place is really cozy, the staff is caring and welcoming. The ambiance is cared for, we enjoyed it so much! You definitely need to book in advance, but when visiting Galway and craving fish, this is a top option!!

13/09/2026: One of the locals recommended this place while we were visiting Galway, and he was absolutely right! It’s about an 18-minute walk from the train station, and it’s definitely worth the visit. We had the catch of the day and the seafood linguine, and both were amazing. We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff were kind enough to immediately find us a table. A big shoutout to this place and its wonderful staff! Definitely recommend it. ❤️

10/08/2026: Superb French restaurant right in the heart of Galway. The gratin dauphinois accompanying the meat dishes is divine! The cooking is perfectly executed, and the art of French dining is upheld. It's a shame we had to choose between the gratin and the vegetables; a selection of both on the plate would have been a real bonus. The desserts are made by a neighboring pastry shop and are of a high standard.

26/08/2026: If a place is in the center of town and is clearly a tourist trap, I tend to avoid it. I admit, however, that I didn't do that with The King's Head, and for the first time, I'm glad to be one of those tourists! 🏠 VENUE | A classic Irish pub with a large room designed for beer consumption and a smaller one for food. I found it to be very well-kept down to the last detail and one of the most welcoming places in Ireland. 🚶‍♂️ STAFF | The staff are all very young, and despite the crowds, they remain calm and friendly. Well done, it's quite a challenge, but you've overcome it! 👨‍🍳 CUISINE | Classic Irish cuisine, but with a few interesting dishes to discover. We went for the oysters (special), classic fish & chips, and cake to finish. Everything is truly special and made with quality ingredients. 💶 BILL | Prices are around €30 per person for a full dinner. I'd say it's reasonable for what's on offer! I recommend it.

13/08/2026: We stopped for lunch at this place because it was on our route. We ordered a tasting combo with three of their meats, and everything was very good: Irish sausages, chicken, and beef. At first, it seemed like a small amount for two, but it was quite filling. The staff was very attentive.

26/09/2026: Amazing place! If you want to experience a pub with live entertainment, this is the place for you. Great atmosphere, very friendly people, and reasonable prices. A must-visit during your stay in Galway.

26/09/2026: We ate in the Galway Girl restaurant in the cellar, the main floor being the pub area, which was noisy and rather crowded. Reservations are recommended. The fish and chips were decent, but the cottage pie and roast chicken exceeded expectations.

11/08/2026: My husband and I celebrated Day 2 of our wedding at Carroll’s Bar last weekend, and it absolutely did not disappoint! We had a huge area reserved in the beer garden, which was well used by all of our guests. The bartender who brought us to our area made us feel so welcome and never rushed us or our guests, which really helped us settle in and enjoy the evening. By 8pm, the whole outdoor area was absolutely electric with live music & packed with people as there was a road race on earlier on! We were so grateful that we arrived on time and had our space reserved, as it made everything run so much more smoothly and meant our guests could relax and enjoy themselves without worrying about finding a spot. Aleannah was absolutely lovely to deal with throughout the booking process and made everything so easy. We also ordered food from Botown, which was delivered to us and was absolutely sensational! It was such a gorgeous addition and something we would definitely recommend considering if you're booking an event or party at Carroll’s Bar. Thank you to the whole team for helping make our wedding celebrations so special.

10/08/2026: I booked Carroll’s to have one of my best friends leaving party’s as she is emigrating. The atmosphere was fantastic, the space reserved for us was perfect, and the live music was great. On top of all of that, she was able to bring her golden retriever (Milo!) to join in on the celebrations, who was a hit with everyone in the pub. It was so easy to book and Aleannah was so helpful in booking everything. Great experience, would highly recommend! ❤️

18/08/2026: Definitely my favourite pub in all of Galway, staff go above and beyond and are always so lovely! Food is always incredible and service is quick. They cater for gluten free and vegan, and as a celiac they are so reassuring and attentive! Honestly can’t recommend enough :))

15/08/2026: Table of 12. Double 40th. Great celebration. Time for a little cake after spending over 500euro. Nah, not allowed. Against their policy Ridiculous. Fobbed off with some nonsense about contamination. Went home and ate the cake 5 mins later. Nonsense.

15/08/2026: I’ve been coming here on and off for years and it’s such a lovely spot. Really homely, relaxed vibes, great coffee and genuinely good food. The pão de queijo is unreal. Staff are always friendly too. One of those places in Galway that just feels easy and welcoming.
