The best restaurants in Galway

28/08/2025: Beautifully furnished rooms, but too small if you have two big luggages. We couldn’t open them at the same time and it felt quite uncomfortable to move around in such a small space when you are on longer travels. The food at the restaurant was great!

25/08/2025: Super location. Comfy bed and good shower. Room was compact, you wouldn’t swing a cat in it 🤣 Tea making facilities were in the hallway as there was not enough space in the bedroom, which isn’t ideal when some of the guests decided to make tea at 1 a.m. and woke me up with all the noise.

17/08/2025: We can upon this restaurant by accident. The reviews were so so, but we thought we would take a risk since so many of the restaurants in the area were fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was simple but good, better than expected. It was good value for the money.

17/08/2025: Great pub with great food, helpfull staff and real value for money. Only downside is they don't hold tables for bookings so when you arrive if there isn't a table you need to wait and almost keep walking around to you find a table but it's a large premises and there is nearly always a table free. There was live music most nights and a table quiz one evening. Lovely interior and a great location.

28/07/2025: Been about two years since my visit but for the week I stayed in Galway this was my comfort spot to get away from my family. I basically ended my night here for the entire week and by the fifth night straight or so the staff asked me what was up. And I told them that Sally Longs was the closest thing I found like the small club I tend bar at in Philadelphia and it felt like home.

19/08/2025: Good dinner in a tiny restaurant where everything is prepared with Irish ingredients. Tasting menu to travel through the tastes of West Ireland with Irish drink pairing. Crab, fish, duck, tomatoes, mash potatoes with mushrooms, see weeds, cheese with a fig, forest strawberry dessert, ice apple wine and so much more. However, the service is too intrusive and feels too commercial so we liked the food but not really the overall atmosphere. I don’t think I would go again

02/09/2025: Pizza Pasta Napoli is the best pizza by the slice option in Galway. All of the options are delicious, but my personal favorite is the mushroom! They come piping hot out of the oven, and you can always count on them being open late.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of character—a true haven for anyone who loves exceptional food. We were helped by a young man with curly hair (wish we’d caught his name!), and honestly, he made our experience unforgettable. His patience was incredible—he took the time to listen to exactly what we were looking for, answered all our questions, and never once made us feel rushed. His knowledge of the cheeses was unparalleled, and his recommendations were spot-on, from the more familiar varieties to the lesser-known gems. On top of that, he was just an absolute delight—so kind, approachable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. It was clear he truly enjoys helping customers discover new flavors, and his warmth made us feel like we were chatting with a friend, not just a shop assistant. If there’s an Employee of the Month at Sheridan’s, we absolutely recommend him! One of the absolute highlights was finding Cáis na Tíre, an extraordinary cheese produced in Tipperary. We’ve tried cheeses all over Europe and beyond, and this one genuinely stands out as one of the best we've ever had—rich, complex, and beautifully balanced. The shop itself is full of carefully curated selections—each one clearly chosen with love and expertise. It’s a place where you could easily lose track of time, happily tasting, learning, and chatting. We walked away with full bags, happy hearts, and the certainty that we’ll return every time we’re in Galway. Sheridan’s isn’t just a shop—it’s an experience. Don’t miss it.

05/08/2025: Very friendly service; we had three different curries with chicken and rice, which were truly delicious. But when they say spicy, they mean it—not too spicy, but still quite spicy! And I think the idea of paying on the way out is creative and great, because if it's good, you just get up and pay... that's it! If you like Asian food, this is a great recommendation.

20/08/2025: Had the chips and the Drummond (green dip) which looked and tasted interesting. Chips (Fries) are really fresh and delicious. Must try if you are in Galway.

11/08/2025: The fries are double fried and good. But nothing extraordinary that makes them special not come back. Worth a try for sure.

24/08/2025: Come here and eat. Good beers. Sweet waiters. Pub food...but incredibly well done. Want chicken presented with an edible flower? Go elsewhere. Want to eat real local products? How do the Irish eat them? Come here. PS. The vegetarian selection is also very respectable. P.S. The fries, however, could be improved by using hand-cut ones, but that's the only flaw I don't feel like lowering the review for.

24/08/2025: Very nice pub in Galway, we were lucky enough to wait just 5 minutes before sitting at the table. Food was good and beer too..

28/07/2025: Great little restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside but offers a lovely dining room when you're inside. And above all, the dishes are excellent, from starter to dessert. Special love for the spicy fried calamari and brown rice and for dessert the mango sticky rice with coconut milk ice cream.

28/07/2025: Amazing Thai food. We eat Thai regularly in the US and this is some of the best we’ve had. The green curry and fried rice are amazing.
