The best restaurants in Galway

09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.

25/10/2025: Laura Rosso is my favourite place to eat in Galway, the grilled chicken is delicious. The team who run it are lovely and especially Anna is always very helpful 😁🙏

24/10/2025: Visited this restaurant with my family for my birthday dinner, for the first time. Not a bad place, nice and warm. The food sounds good on the menu, looks good in a photo but on the shared platter, the chicken and the steak was very dry and tough, as if it's cooked and frozen then heated up again, like not fresh. The chips and sausage was nice. I would return to give a second chance and try something else💯❤️

30/12/2025: Called in here after the rugby, the place was packed but didn't have to wait to long to served and the pints were great. All the staff were friendly and the local lads made us feel more than welcome. We had a really good night and came away with a t-shirt as a souvenir.

02/01/2026: Loved the stinger pizza with some nice Italian beer to go with it.

01/01/2026: Laoise and Callyn are genuinely the most dedicated hospitality staff I have ever come across. They went above and beyond to help me, in a situation where I lost an important family ring on NEW YEARS EVE, and did not stop until they found it. Having worked in hospitality for over 7 years these acts are what makes a business rememberable, and make you want to go back and give them your custom. Genuinely the best hospitality I have ever received and O'Connell's Bar will have my custom years to come because of there kind acts this evening.

14/12/2025: Cutest clean little place with the freshest food! Baileys latte was perfect with breakfast i will definitely be back! Friendly people working with lots of locals popping in and out, don't miss this one!

01/01/2026: The food, mood, service, and everything else you'd expect for a fine dining establishment was there. But nothing blew my socks off and it was a bit on the pricey side. The most noticeable thing for me was the service because everyone was so friendly and accommodating for me as I brought my 6 and 8 year kids to dinner. The chef spent a few minutes at each able to chat with the guests too. This is a great thing but also maybe not so great if it is more memorable than the food.

23/11/2025: All the care is clearly put into the place lookin like a designer vegan instagram coffee shop, but the service and coffee lacks. Was denied a dirty chai, even tho they sell chai lattes. For the price i paid, i was given a baby cappuccino and it tasted more like nuts than coffee. First time in years i poured a coffee down the sink. Ciarlantinis is only a minute up the road, much nicer folks, better prices and tastier coffee.

18/11/2025: The place has three floors, but it mainly operates as an art gallery. In my opinion, it should be takeout only since they don't have a restroom for customers. There's no comfortable space to sit and enjoy your coffee. They serve your drinks in paper cups, and the staff isn't very friendly. Or maybe it was just the day; I don't know. We found it expensive considering the regular coffee is actually quite small. It's quaint, but nothing more than that. The coffee I ordered was cold for my taste, although that's just my personal preference. I wouldn't go back.

20/01/2026: Recently visited with my family, outstanding Cod and one of the most yummy Chowders I’ve ever eaten, very helpful and nice staff

31/12/2025: Delicious seafood. Caters to gluten free/ celiac. Highly recommend swapping the fries to mash. Amazing service

02/01/2026: It was great to eat an ice cream, it's delicious, but there's no place to sit, so it's a matter of buying and eating on a strolling street.

07/01/2026: By far the best coffee in Galway City. David is a fabulous man who has such a passion for coffee. The effort he goes to every day to pour “perfection in a cup” has to be applauded. It’s certainly not an ordinary coffee shop, expect something different and be pleasantly surprised. A great coffee experience & one you will remember.

03/01/2026: Had quite the rude experience with a bartender yesterday. I asked politely did they serve ginger beer. In a mocking and rude tone. The bartender stated "Jesus no, this is galway we dont serve that rubbish" and laughed. His overall demeanor wasnt pleasant. I would have ordered something else. But the bar man was so rude and abrasive. Its 2026, ginger beer is crafted by amazing irish and local brands. Examples, porters or zingibeer. I'm irish not a tourist
