The best restaurants in Galway

09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.

07/05/2026: We got the potato and red onion (soft potatoes but flavorful), spinach and goat cheese (the perfect amount of cheese to spinach), ham (exactly what you’d expect) and one of the best pepperoni (kinda spicy) I’ve ever had. Purchased them all by the slice for reasonable pricing and got them to go in a box instead of eating there. Walked over towards the Spanish arch and sat to eat over there by the water for the view.

05/05/2026: Definitely the best pizza not only in Galway but anywhere I've eaten in Ireland. Always delicious, fragrant, hot... simply perfect. If these guys had a better location, they'd be a hit. 👍👍👍

23/11/2025: All the care is clearly put into the place lookin like a designer vegan instagram coffee shop, but the service and coffee lacks. Was denied a dirty chai, even tho they sell chai lattes. For the price i paid, i was given a baby cappuccino and it tasted more like nuts than coffee. First time in years i poured a coffee down the sink. Ciarlantinis is only a minute up the road, much nicer folks, better prices and tastier coffee.

18/11/2025: The place has three floors, but it mainly operates as an art gallery. In my opinion, it should be takeout only since they don't have a restroom for customers. There's no comfortable space to sit and enjoy your coffee. They serve your drinks in paper cups, and the staff isn't very friendly. Or maybe it was just the day; I don't know. We found it expensive considering the regular coffee is actually quite small. It's quaint, but nothing more than that. The coffee I ordered was cold for my taste, although that's just my personal preference. I wouldn't go back.

10/04/2026: Arrived in with a party of 8 from Galway Bay Brewery , the food and service were unbelievable. The fish is so fresh and tasty, also pricing is very reasonable as good fish isn’t cheap . Big thanks to Ester too who looked after us .

09/04/2026: Takeaway 1 cod, 1 hake, chowder, and prawns on 9th April 2026. The chowder was so incredibly salty that we had to throw it away. It was so aggressively seasoned that my tongue is still numb from the salt. Like being hit in the mouth with a tidal wave of Irish Sea water. Please chef, taste your own food before you serve it. 2/5 because the Hake was alright. Other items mediocre. Would not recommend this restaurant.

14/04/2026: If I could give Menlo Park 6 stars I would. From Connaugh at the front desk, to Molly in the restaurant. This place was fantastic. Gluten free inclusive for all meals (I loved my gf scones and pancakes). The rooms were cosy, the foyer lounge was a nice touch. We had such a lovely stay here and found the staff all so kind, funny and hospitable. Also a nice walk into Galway City from here.

25/04/2026: The best kebab we have ever had - the meat, the salad, the bread - 💯 I’ll be back for more! Lovely service and quality kebab - couldn’t be happier walking home at 3am !

06/04/2026: The food was good and well presented. Nice atmosphere with live music. It's a shame the waitress wasn't smiling and wasn't very pleasant.

05/04/2026: A great place supporting the local rugby team, with a wonderful local Irish dishes. Fish and Chips, Lamb Irish Stew, Caesar Salad and Goat Cheese salad were delicious!

10/04/2026: The food was very good, I believe I got some type of seafood platter, very fresh tasting. but the girls at the front door were kind of rude and sassy kinda made me uncomfortable and not welcome. The waiter was much nicer though.

19/03/2026: Really lovely food, incredibly prepared variety of fish, and a cozy warm atmosphere. The service was top call, Noel was really fantastic, friendly and extremely knowledgeable on everything on the menu and behind the bar. Great experience overall!

26/04/2026: Very popular pub/restaurant on the busiest street in Galway. Lots of tourists but the food is very good. Enormous rib-eyes, great onion rings, excellent chips. A bit crowded - tables seem a bit closer than need be but a positive experience.

25/04/2026: Wow. Just saying- it's an amazing place! Food is gorgeous and such a nice and friendly staff! Try beef&Guinness stew and their potato boxy! And a rhubarb crumble with ice cream!

22/04/2026: Stopped in for a Kate lunch and loved it. The food was excellent, short rib croquettes, both soups, pork belly and chicken Cesar salad. We would definitely go back.

21/04/2026: My fiancé and I went in for brunch after a long drive from Dublin. The staff welcomed us in as if welcoming into their home. The fire in the traditional pub fireplace was going and was kept stocked throughout our time there making it feel so cozy on a damp day. We ordered several small plates and brunch items, and everything was superb. Even tried the locally sourced oysters which were great. Big shout out to Ulick who checked on us frequently to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of by the staff. We already are planning our return trip to Galway and will certainly make Blake's (aka Brasserie On The Corner) one of our stops.

12/04/2026: I was pleasantly surprised. The food usually takes a little while, but it's worth it, and the service is very friendly. But if there's one downside, it's the door—wow! 😳 I sat almost at the entrance and I think I got up seven or eight times to close it because it wouldn't close automatically, and water and wind were getting in, which was quite uncomfortable. Opening and closing it is rather awkward and unintuitive; you practically have to slam it shut, and you hear that every five minutes. It's not pleasant.

07/04/2026: Definitely a must visit. Reserve a table if you're planning to be here on a public holiday or weekend as it can be difficult to get a table. Had a wonderful and amazing roast chicken and bangers and mash. Service was impressive and the ambience was wonderful!

12/03/2026: Gluten free beer available, so delicious, great atmosphere. Lots of board games which can be used for free. Real candles on all the tables. Highly recommend
