The best restaurants in Galway

27/06/2025: I work in specialty coffee in the United States, so I was super stoked to visit this cafe in our quick stay in Galway. After reading many reviews it’s easy to see why. Although it was a busy afternoon the staff was very kind and our drinks came out fairly quick. The most solid capp I had while in Ireland! The only regret is that we didn’t know there was extra seating upstairs, we definitely would have stayed longer. This is a must stop for all coffee people!

21/06/2025: Hi everybody, I was at UkeFest yesterday evening 20th June 2025. 45 minutes for a burger. Receipts flying in the wind. Queues around the corner. Poor front of house girl completely out of her dept left on her own all evening. I was there at 6pm when it was only getting started. Felt sonsorry for her Not fair on the staff at all. Guys in the kitchen were trying there best but totally inexperienced and GenZ'd. Hey BoTown.... invest in staff. Takes 200 euro for a couple of minimum wage staff for the night. Handsome Burger from here on. Good luck ;)

19/06/2025: Food was delicious. The spicy wings were the star of the show. The young lad working front-of-house was such a lovely fella and a real testament to the place.

21/12/2024: Myself and one of my friends had the teriyaki chicken don and it tasted so good. The chicken was marinated and the rice mixed with the sauce was heavenly and a great mix of savoury and sweet. The egg was chopped up very finely and had a soft texture and the green beans had a very refreshing flavour and I think it was blanched so it had a very refreshing crunch to it! Some of the juices sunk down to the bottom of the bowl and it was such a sweet and delicious flavour. I would say we waited quite a while but there was only one cook when we went so it made sense. The inside is decorated really well and the atmosphere felt really welcoming. My other friend had the tempura sushi roll and miso soup and she really enjoyed it. Price wise, you are definitely getting more than what you paid for. I've paid more in other restaurants for less amounts of food. I paid €18 for the teriyaki chicken don and I would definitely say I got my money's worth. The wait was like 40 minutes for 3 people and it was quite empty, so if you are on a tight schedule you might not want to go, but I personally don't mind waiting 40 minutes for a meal. 10/10 I would really recommend to go and I'm definitely going again!! 🤤🤤🙏🙏

12/06/2025: Great food and service. Was a busy night and we were told from an overly apologetic server that we would have to wait 10 minutes. It wasn’t that long. Had the salmon which was excellent. The whipped goat cheese was also really good. I like goat cheese usually, but this even didn’t taste “goat/cheesy”.

12/06/2025: Nice atmosphere and great location. Staff was solid. Food was bad, tasted like it came out of the freezer. Skip it for a meal, but grab a pint sometime.

30/06/2025: Food quality and quantity has definitely declined. Used to love this place. Staff are excellent...don't think I'll be going there any more as it's no different to any other average restaurant around galway now.

01/07/2025: Wow, awesome pizza, people and location. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The garlic sauce was amazing as well.

29/06/2025: I have never eaten better pizza in Ireland. Real dips, fresh: raw chopped garlic in olive oil, jalapeno chopped in olive oil. Not like in most places mayo. Each time when I am near Galway I'm there.

14/07/2025: What a absolute treat this place is ! Daniel working the bar was such a treat to banter with so glad to have met him. Vibe is intimate and inviting. Great spot to get a spicy pickleback Cannot wait to visit the city again and come back here cheers from Canada 🍻🫶

13/07/2025: Excellent pub with around twenty craft and other beers. Huge selection. And also small food (sandwiches). Highly recommended.

06/07/2025: Great food, the pizza and steak sandwich were absolutely delicious! It felt like a truly genuine Galway experience with the live music, dancing, and vibrant atmosphere. A fantastic spot that captures the spirit of the city!

06/07/2025: As an American, this Thai food made me homesick for the US. There was clearly care put into the dishes, with fresh ingredients and large portions, but it was unfortunately bland. The spicy dishes tasted of nothing but spice, and the mild dishes tasted of nothing at all. We were very hungry and gobbled it down, but I want everyone in Galway to know that there’s so much better Thai food out there in the world.

14/06/2025: We love this place! We (me and my small children) love to cozy up together on one of the floor tables and share a large pot of gingerbread tea while we nibble delicious pastries and play cards and read books. A wonderful way to spend a rainy Saturday. (The garden is lovely in sunshine.) Friendly staff. Great vibes.

07/02/2025: Pedí el "Pastel de los Pastores" y estaba extremadamente decepcionado. Demasiado ajo en polvo y dudoso "puré de patatas". Muy seco a pesar de añadir una jarra de "jus". Me fui 1/2. Si un restaurante tiene una cocina abierta, entonces los chefs al menos deben actuar profesionalmente. Fui testigo de tantas infracciones HACCP que fue aterrador. Picando comida y comiendo sin lavarse las manos. Rascarse el cabello sin lavarse las manos.

21/01/2025: Went here for lunch and ordered the fish and chips. Lovely crispy batter on 3 nicely sized pieces of fish with ample chips, a delicious little salad and a pot of tartar sauce. Service was quick and friendly and the price for what I got was very reasonable.
