The best restaurants in Galway

28/08/2026: Everything these days costs a bomb HOWEVER the mocha at Hyde was very high quality! It was worth the price tag for once !!! Nice ambience too.

26/08/2026: I had brunch here and I must honestly say that I was a bit tempted by the beautiful appearance of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. After a long wait, I received a completely different order than what I had asked for. Subsequently, I had to wait a long time again for the correct dish, while my dining companion had already started eating. When I asked for an extra roll, because I had only received one slice of bread, I waited for it for almost twenty minutes. Eventually, I only received it after having to ask for it again myself. By that time, the rest of my food was, of course, already cold. When paying the bill, I received apologies and was told that they were very busy preparing for a party. That can happen, of course, but as a paying guest, I do expect that this does not come at the expense of my food and the service. Unfortunately, I found both the food and the service to be quite substandard. Especially considering the price, I had expected much more from this place.

19/08/2026: We were in Kinsale and arrived right at midday. We drove around a bit looking for somewhere to eat, as the restaurants are quite expensive (a dish costs around €25). We decided to stop at Cosy Café, and although the food is fast food, it's very well prepared, nicely presented, a good portion, and very tasty. I ordered a breaded chicken burger and a side salad, and it was delicious. For two people, food and drinks came to €32. Recommended. You pay the bill at the bar.

21/08/2026: Can’t recommend enough, best in Ireland by far. I’ve probably tried everything on the menu at this point and I’m getting hungry just writing this review. If I’m being 100% honest the cuscus is a lil dry but that’s how they serve it in Morocco, but nothing else u order there will disappoint.

10/08/2026: My friend brought me here and i had the baked penne pasta, it was one of the tastiest pastas ive ever had!! The vibe is so cozy and the decor is really wondeful.

01/09/2026: We stopped into Sheridan’s just for a glass of wine and ended up staying much longer than we planned. The wine bar is upstairs and has a really cozy, relaxed feel, with plenty of bottles to choose from along the wall as well as a great selection on the menu. We didn’t eat, but the food coming out to the other tables looked fantastic. What really made the experience, though, was the atmosphere. There were only four or so other tables when we were there, and the staff made everyone feel so welcome that before long, people at different tables were all chatting with each other. It felt less like sitting in a wine bar and more like being at a really good gathering. Special shoutout to Roland, who was warm, engaging and clearly knows his wine. He gave us a few different wines to taste and was just genuinely fun to talk to. A great little find in Galway. We went upstairs looking for a glass of wine and left feeling like we’d spent the afternoon with friends.

24/08/2026: If you love cheese and are passing through Galway, it would be a shame not to visit Sheridans! We went to the shop and received excellent advice from the young man who served us. He took his time, yet was quick and efficient, to let us taste several cheeses. We left with a lovely selection and the exact quantities we wanted.

31/08/2026: Good food huge portions though. Coffees excellent and huge diy pancake menu. Not a long wait.

30/08/2026: Absolutely loved Pascal! The pancakes were delicious, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was lovely. Great food and great service- definitely coming back! 🥞❤️

15/09/2026: Me and my boyfriend went for a beer and the doorman screamed at our faces because we did not notice the door was close. When we just knocked. He did not behave like that with other guests so not sure if it was because we were gay. But this is the only place in all Ireland we have been treated so poorly. With so many bars to go in Galway going to this one seems like a waste of time. Please do not go here

03/09/2026: Vegan Brekkie was great! Atmosphere was nice as we entered and waited to order, would have been nice to dine in but I was in a hurry to catch my train so I got mine to go. Staff was friendly, and polite despite how busy it was. Again the Vegan Brekkie was delicious and left me feeling satisfied for the trip ahead.

30/06/2026: One of the best Pancakes I’ve ever had. Everything was a 10/10. The pancakes were cooked so perfectly and fluffy.

10/09/2026: The waiter was great. He was so friendly, and helpful. We had a mix of appetizers for our meal. The soups were great and the breads fine. Fish cakes, the best. The music was contemporary and well done. A guy and his acoustic guitar kept the audience engaged and the beer flowed. Highly recommend.
