09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

23/11/2025: All the care is clearly put into the place lookin like a designer vegan instagram coffee shop, but the service and coffee lacks. Was denied a dirty chai, even tho they sell chai lattes. For the price i paid, i was given a baby cappuccino and it tasted more like nuts than coffee. First time in years i poured a coffee down the sink. Ciarlantinis is only a minute up the road, much nicer folks, better prices and tastier coffee.

18/11/2025: The place has three floors, but it mainly operates as an art gallery. In my opinion, it should be takeout only since they don't have a restroom for customers. There's no comfortable space to sit and enjoy your coffee. They serve your drinks in paper cups, and the staff isn't very friendly. Or maybe it was just the day; I don't know. We found it expensive considering the regular coffee is actually quite small. It's quaint, but nothing more than that. The coffee I ordered was cold for my taste, although that's just my personal preference. I wouldn't go back.

04/03/2026: Food was amazing!! We were in a booth that was very tight, but the restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean.

14/02/2026: We visited on Valentine’s Day evening, and they kindly seated us quickly. As visitors to Ireland, we found this restaurant on a whim and were not disappointed! Everything tasted amazing and all very fresh: Highly recommend! Pictured: Mussels in garlic sauce, grilled fish and chips, seafood linguine

17/03/2026: Located about 25 minute walk from city center. I booked the room with AC and couldn’t use it because it made a loud whistling sound. Couldn’t open the windows either since the construction kept banging when the wind was blowing. The shower also didn’t get hot enough to my liking. The included breakfast for the room was alright. Staff were super friendly and let us check in early.

12/03/2026: We had an absolutely wonderful time at this hotel. I'll definitely be back next time I visit Galway. The staff was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious, it was spotlessly clean, and most importantly, it was quiet and had a great atmosphere.

30/12/2025: Called in here after the rugby, the place was packed but didn't have to wait to long to served and the pints were great. All the staff were friendly and the local lads made us feel more than welcome. We had a really good night and came away with a t-shirt as a souvenir.

04/03/2026: Part of my Galway "pilgrimage" as a Ken Bruen / Jack Taylor fan Great Guinness, Jamesons, bit of background music. I could happily spends days and days here!

07/01/2026: By far the best coffee in Galway City. David is a fabulous man who has such a passion for coffee. The effort he goes to every day to pour “perfection in a cup” has to be applauded. It’s certainly not an ordinary coffee shop, expect something different and be pleasantly surprised. A great coffee experience & one you will remember.

01/03/2026: Very good option for food. Since it was my first dinner in Ireland I acted like a tourist and ordered traditional fish and chips and it was really very good.

25/02/2026: The service was quite good, and the fish and chips were plentiful with a nice béarnaise sauce. The live traditional music after the meal was a great way to experience a taste of Ireland.
