The best restaurants in Galway

28/11/2025: My wife and I stopped in for breakfast prior to a trip. The older gentleman behind the bar was absolutely wonderful. He was engaging, funny and at times I bit humorous with stern suggestions that were spot on. The mini breakfast was still filling and the tea here was perfect. The atmosphere here was great for visitors and we felt at home in no time. Before leaving the older gentleman asked what our plans were and offered advice on which route to take on our trip to better see Ireland and what it offers. This advice did not disappoint and ended up being one of our favorite experiences on our trip.

24/10/2025: Had a family birthday meal. Staff were friendly but pre theatre menu is only available until 7 but we weren't told. Menu is slightly limited. We brought a birthday cake and were advised they could serve it but we couldn't eat it on the premises. After some discussion they did allow us to eat the cake. Nice restaurant but some logistical issues. Food was lovely

10/11/2025: Very bustling. You have to visit the neighborhood.

05/11/2025: Probably the highlight of coming to Galway city for me as part of a tour package. It has alot of shopping and food options. There are some shops that are local Irish establishments.

22/11/2025: Best milkshakes I’ve ever had in my life!!! Chicken burger was good, a bit too fried. The wings were nice. The fries were the only thing I didn’t like. Good service!

31/10/2025: I’d actually forgotten how unbelievably good Scotty’s is. Just had a bout of nostalgia with a works burger remembering when my dad used to collect them from Munster Avenue all those years ago when Scotty first arrived on the scene. Still the best. Thanks Scotty and Jenny.

13/10/2025: I can’t thank the team at Il Vicolo enough for making my proposal night so special. From the first email I sent to plan the engagement, Reena and Eleonora were incredible—so friendly, organised and thoughtful alongside with the other staff working on the night who set up a beautiful private spot on the outdoor terrace after our meal so I could propose to my partner, and made the whole evening feel effortless and one we will never forget. The entire staff were just amazing as well: attentive, friendly, informative and really went above and beyond for not only us but all the customers whilst I was there. The food was outstanding—authentic Italian flavours, perfectly cooked pasta, amazing wines and beers—and every detail felt crafted with care. Il Vicolo will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you’re looking for incredible italian food in Galway, warm service, and a team who truly go above and beyond this is a must and we cannot wait to come back! I cannot thank you guys enough! 02/11/2025: Such a goregeous Irish pub with fantastic ambience, plenty of room and quiet places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff were so welcoming and the food was amazing. The seafood chowder was outstanding. HUGE portions! Get out of town and head here - it's the best.

01/11/2025: Enjoyed a wonderful lunch today in the company of other travelers in this exciting city of Galway. It was a nice surprise to stumble upon a restaurant that catered to my dietary needs. The menu wasn't overwhelming and there was a nice variety of choices to choose from. I ordered the Terryland Reuben with a vegan cheese which was VERY good and afterwards enjoyed a complimentary slice of vegan cake that was absolutely lovely. The portions were perfect! I actually left with the cake in a take out container. If you're looking for a quaint and affordable restaurant to enjoy a vegan meal, this is the place!

30/10/2025: We had an incredibly delicious meal here. Finding good restaurants isn't always easy for vegans. And the chai was so good! Highly recommended for visitors to Galway.

19/11/2025: Very high expectations on this restaurant as suggested as best local seafood in Galway centre. Unfortunately the experience was very poor, cause the food is very expensive for what you actually get on table. The prawn starter was simply average with plain lettuce on the bottom, the main monkfish was the worst part of the meal as only two small pieces of monkfish and it was boiled in the mussels and beans stew, also found broken mussels shells in the stew. Good atmosphere, average service.

01/11/2025: stopped for lunch while stopping in Galway (a must see town) the options for pubs, restaurants, take-aways are many. We chose Busker Brownes because of the look & the menu - we were NOT disappointed - SPA007

16/09/2025: Very good, really loved it a lot. We tried there Gino’s oreo choc waffle though it is little pricey but it tasted really good. And the icecreams are so tasty with all new unique flavours there😍

27/11/2025: The pancakes were delicious and plentiful. The portion size is good for the price. The coffee is delicious.

25/11/2025: The Pancakes are ok, Big fluffy pancakes that are a bit dry, I ordered Sunny side pancakes so I expected a nice fried egg with crispy bottom and runny yolk, what I got was almost completely hard yolk and no crisp that was an unfortunate disappointment, I had ordered both pancakes and a coffee but was served just the pancakes after about 15 minutes, I asked the waiter and he said it must be on the way, but it took another 10 minutes to get my coffee which I find quite unacceptable. The coffee was ok there is definitely better places for coffee around this area. Overall I'm very disappointed.

05/11/2025: Such beautiful place to visit and easy to talk with friends or doing your own things in the corner because they have a small corners really cute also guinness was good and IPA they have is tasty too if you like IPA. Service us good too.
