02/03/2026: We were so pleased to find this lovely gem of a cafe on our visit to Kilkenny. It was so peaceful, with great service, and tasty food. I was able to get a couple of different gluten free options, including a scone and a sandwich - they also mentioned vegetarian options on the menu!

16/03/2026: We where here stepping into centuries of history at Kyteler’s Inn in Kilkenny. Founded in 1324, medieval architecture, Irish music, warm comfort food,(in a rainy day was glorious) and more importantly the story that still echoes through the walls, the tale of Alice Kyteler, one of Ireland’s most famous witchcraft accusations.(And that rich that the kings at the time borrowed money from her) What else can you ask... good food, great atmosphere, fantastic people and history in every corner.

31/12/2025: Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during my stay here. My room was absolutely spotless clean and overall lovely. It is a great location, 20 minute walk from the city, and close to everything else. Overall great experience, would definitely recommend to anyone and would stay again :)

03/04/2026: Next to the castle, in a beautiful and solid building, we found a fantastic brewery. Great atmosphere and spacious. The burgers are delicious. Highly recommended.

03/04/2026: Three of us went for lunch and a few beers. The place is very nice and pretty, the burgers were substantial, and so was the sandwich!

08/03/2026: Had a beautiful stay with my partner this weekend. We were let down by another booking and were in quick need of somewhere to stay. Anne accommodated us with a moments notice and made our stay truly special for a weekend I’ll never forget. Thank you to all the staff for their generosity and accommodation of allergic needs for us! Will definitely be back can’t recommend them highly enough there

21/03/2026: My friend & I went when we traveled over to Ireland and it was so much fun! We actually were gonna leave because there were some guys there that wouldn't leave us alone but the nice bartenders and bouncer invited us to stay near them. True Irish gents. And we ended up closing the place down. 10/10 would recommend!

07/03/2026: Was in kilkenny for an overnight break. Came across this pub with live music. Thankfully wasn't too packed, and sat in the booth and felt like it was a personal concert. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Ross and Jim were playing music and singing, absolutely brilliant, took requests and had a laugh. Great night

16/10/2025: Wedding Venue of our dreams!! Wow! I can’t recommend the Avalon highly enough! Laura is a phenomenal wedding organiser who listens to your vision and brings it to life! She feels like a friend straight away who is fully invested in the day! Peter and Laura then make sure the day runs perfectly, remaining calm and positive throughout! The Avalon is the perfect place for a private wedding where you are the priority for the whole hotel! They could not have been more supportive! I can’t thank them enough for the most perfect day! All of our guests loved it commenting on the gorgeous food, friendly staff and homely rooms!

22/03/2026: Had a 1 night stay in Rafters for a hen party, there were 23 of us and I can't think of one negative thing to say. Gerry was an absolute lifesaver he gave us a great deal, we had a private room for an activity on arrival, dinner, bed and breakfast. Everything was absolutely perfect. Any questions I had when planning the night away Gerry was only an email/phone call away and responded so fast. We were a large group and our dinners all came out at the one time the service was amazing. Dinner and breakfast was so delicious. I can't wait to return in the future!

18/03/2026: Lovely, sleeping above the pub. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is exactly what you can expect from the description. It is clean, has good beds, and a nice shower. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is very good and the atmosphere is super cozy. The location is perfect, about a 5 to 10 minute walk from just about all the sights.
