20/12/2025: Great little pub/ restaurant. We got a last minute booking for 4 of us and I had never eaten here before but I was not disappointed. The food was amazing and the portions are huge. The service came with a smile and friendly chat even though the staff were clearly on top of their heads. I will definitely be back soon.

08/12/2025: Great spot for food both during the week and for Sunday lunch. Not going to me tion my favourite in case it gets too popular.... well worth the visit.

03/01/2026: A fantastic 'destination pub' in Dundalk - terrific menu of delicious options, all served promptly by friendly staff. Wide ramge of beers, wines, cocktails and spirits for every taste and occasion, cannot recomnend highly enough! For us, the only thing missing was Marie, but we savour the memories

04/01/2026: Love this place, we always stay here , tea to the room freshly brewed, and good tea too, was in the minus ➖ degrees last night and the room was still so warm I had to open the window, we even got a tea and coffee to go , 5 star ⭐ all the way

01/01/2026: Had a lovely overnight stay with dinner bed and breakfast. Food was excellent. Service was fantastic and staff were warm and friendly. Would highly recommend this place. We will be back

03/01/2026: I've been to this pub a number of times over the years to drink and to eat. Staff are always so so friendly and helpful. I have always got great drink and fantastic food. Always a great draught and wiskey selection and the menu is hearty good food with a great selection of fresh sea food.

03/01/2026: Popped in here over the Christmas break for some lunch. The chap at the bar was very friendly and welcoming and quickly sorted us out with a table. We sat down, and a young blonde waitress came over just as my partner had gone to the bathroom. I asked if she could come back in a few minutes, which she seemed somewhat put out by. After waiting around 10 minutes, we went to the bar to ask if we could order. A further five minutes passed before we asked a passing waiter, at which point the same waitress came over, visibly annoyed — as if expecting to order food was somehow unreasonable. The service overall from the waitress was extremely poor: stroppy, disengaged, and lacking even basic eye contact. This was particularly disappointing because the food itself was actually very nice. The initial chap at the bar clearly understood customer service, but his colleague completely let the place down. There was zero interaction when the food was handed over, and the overall experience felt completely disinterested. To top it off, we were left with the bill but no one came to take payment, nor were we told whether we should pay at the bar. All in all, a really poor effort in customer service, which unfortunately overshadowed some very nice food and nice atmosphere overall

23/11/2025: Terrible experience all round in this establishment. I had booked weeks previously, rang beforehand to request a booth in the front bar area and was assured that we were already assigned this and would not be moved. Arrived on the night and was told it was unavailable despite being able to clearly see a booth in the front bar was available. One of my party queried why we couldn't have the booth. At this point the manager arrived to say the booth was unavailable and would not budge on the matter. I asked if the booth was booked by someone more important than us and the manager said yes that this was the case. We sat in our allocated seat out the back and then decided to leave as we didn't want to spend our money in such an elitist establishment. Such an awful way to run a restaurant. We won't be back and will make sure to tell our friends and families about our experience. The restaurant also cancelled our booking after we left to ensure we couldn't leave a negative review on Open Table.

02/11/2025: Beautiful food and lovely helpful staff, ordered a delivery last night and the man gave me 10% off because the online didnt work for me he was so nice and helpful and the food was lovely and fresh, Best snack Box in the town the southern fried chicken is beautiful nicest ive had in a long time wven nicer then KFC wipl definitely order again 😀 beautiful and thank you for such great service

20/08/2025: Went here for dinner with my wife in August. Best meal we've had in a while. Very relaxing pre dinner drink in the bar area while perus the menu. Then had a very nice meal. Starters of ham hoc terrine and crab creme brulee were fab. Then I had the lamb which was the tastiest and most tender I've ever had. My wife had the fish dish which was a very decent size and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Very good wine list but unfortunately could only try one as I was driving. We will most certainly return.

02/12/2025: Went before going to see ardal ohanlon and the food was great. We had a reservation that they wouldn't get up on the system, but they accommodated us without any hassle. Great service and nothing was too much.
