09/07/2026: Not sure about this place. Dull and not good rigatoni ala Norma. I would say aubergine and courgettes had seen better days, swimming in an oily tomato ? sauce. Seafood spaghetti was plentiful but sauce like water. I wonder is there a lack of understanding of what good Italian food is?

05/07/2026: A thoroughly disappointing experience in Rugantinos. Myself and my family were on a short trip to Sligo and we decided to book Rugantinos for two nights in a row as it has such a large menu and we had previously enjoyed dining here. Our party of 12 were all massively underwhelmed by both the food and the service. We shared some starters including chicken wings, calamari, garlic focaccina and bruschetta. The chicken wings were hard and dry, the calamari was bland and the bruschetta was soggy and underseasoned. We all ordered a main dish and we were disappointed to say the least. The mussels were way over seasoned, the pizza had a soggy base and way too much cheese and the chicken in mushroom sauce was way over cooked. The children's meals at €12 are far too big. When we asked for a dessert menu, there was no option for a children's dessert which in a family restaurant, I find very strange. When asked was this possible, we were told no that there was gelato on the menu. This was priced at €9 for two scoops! Three of our party ordered the creme brulee along with other desserts and coffees. All bar the creme brulees arrived quite promptly so after a while we asked were the creme brulees coming and the waitress said she would check. I saw her ask the waiter who had taken our order and he said to her "oh fuck I forgot". Having worked in the service industry myself for a very long time, I completely understand that mistakes happen. Instead of apologising for his mistake, he came over and said they came from a different section and essentially we needed to be patient. When I went to pay the bill, no one asked how everything was or even uttered a thank you. We paid the €520 bill and cancelled the table for the following day on the way out. No one seemed to be bothered. A very poor display of Irish hospitality and service. Not one of us will be back.

13/05/2026: Small and good place for fast foods and pizza. Taste is just above average. Service is good, sufficient parking spaces are available.

05/07/2026: Worth the hype, the pizza was delicious. The staff were really friendly and the vibe is relaxed and cool. We ate outside (luckily it was dry) as there were no free tables inside, it’s small. Slightly uncountable as the paving is not level.

04/07/2026: Great location and good menu options. I found it a bit on the pricey side, and the pizza was good, just drawned in hot honey :( I was there yesterday with a friend and service was not great. I understand the place was busy on a Friday evening, however my friend and I went in asking for a table for 2. We chose to sit outside after the staff asked if we preferred to sit inside or outside. 15 minutes goes by and nobody dropped the menu to us. A staff member came out asking if we were ready to order but nobody gave us a menu so she had to go in and get one for us. We ordered straight away with her and the food came out quite fast. More time goes by and nobody comes to our table so I had to stop another member of staff to ask for a takeaway box, which he said he would drop outside to us. I eventually had to go inside with my plate to ask for a takeaway box again after waiting for more than 15 minutes again... as I said, I understand that the restaurant might have been busy, but maybe more staff is required on busy nights.

05/02/2026: €40 for 2 pizzas and a bag of chips. Outrageously priced for what is bang average pizza. Dough is grand but far far far too much cheese.

19/05/2026: This place was a great find! The food was tasty - we loved the sausage pizza. They were also very accommodating of our toddler. Instead of having a separate children’s menu of junk food (not that that’s a bad thing!), they do child-sized portions of all their pasta and pizza options, which meant my husband and I were happy to finish her penne bolognese when she was done!

25/05/2026: This place is legit! They definitely know how to do a good thin crust. Fast service, no-nonsense. Pickup a pie ,or just grab a slice. I would highly recommend it.

06/06/2026: Food was nice but the portion sizes for the price are just so bad. 55 euro for a 12 inch pizza and a pasta dish with a portion of chips that I could count how many in this tiny bowl with my fingers. It’s gone like most restaurants in Waterford now, overpriced with tiny portions. Very small deserts that you can see when you walk in for 9 euros a pop, no thanks

15/05/2026: Good food ,good service. I had beef short rib. It was nice but too much vinegar in the accompanying sauce/glaze and we did not like the plates or bowls for the salads. You can't beat a big white plate as the food presentation looks good here and that's enough

12/07/2026: Had tenders and chips, tenders very poor, tough, small a chewy. Chips Ok, not great. Service a bit slow for a take out

18/07/2026: Good Food, Good Service, Good Value. This is exactly what a cafe/restaurant should be and what has become so difficult to find. The food is excellent with a great variety across the menu, and the best chips I’ve had in a long time. The service was friendly, genuine, efficient, attentive, and professional. There was the correct number of good staff, looking to serve the patrons, as opposed to the more recent trend of an excess of staff that actively avoid eye contact and leave you frustrated. The food was served on properly sized plates, which again is something that has become harder to find. Too many restaurants have picked the plates and cups first because of the aesthetic, and not factored will the food fit on it. The focus at Cafe Monto is clearly the food first and then having appropriate tableware, not tableware that looks good on instagram but is not functional. Finally, for the first time in a long time I felt that I paid an appropriate amount for what I received. This is the very fundamentals of dining out done right, something that has all but disappeared from Dublin in recent years, and I cannot recommend Cafe Monto enough.

07/07/2026: We stopped in today on a whim and found the best pizza and homemade pasta in the city! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere is perfect for people-watching, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was absolutely top-notch—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to come back!

29/06/2026: Just walked in to have dinner 7:30 Monday evening. Myself and my teenager and were refused a table for two even though there were two sets of tables free but they were for 4 people … not reserved! That’s shocking money grabbing! We just wanted two main courses…. Nope .. won’t break a four top! Rude rude rude!

29/05/2026: Superb pizza, thin crust, excellent toppings - will definitely visit again. Cold drinks not massively cold but they serve wine, have some seating, a bathroom and service is friendly. Would definitely recommend 👍

23/05/2026: I came in here with my gal pals after a few beveraginos. We came in for a slice but the staff and atmosphere were so lovely and welcoming we couldn’t resist getting a table and a glass of vino!! Highly recommend. Truly wonderful 😻

02/06/2026: You can find Italian pizza and it is amazing! Fabulous dough, carefully selected ingredients imported directly from Italy, cooking in the new oven create a fantastic mix of flavors. The pesto comes directly from Genoa, the San Marzano tomatoes and the fiordilatte cheese create a mix of high-level flavors. As an Italian, I can only compliment you on this huge step. Congratulations for your passion in the pursuit of quality! The staff is kind and helpful also. I am looking forward to taste the new proposals! Have you tried Spanish pizza? It is also amazing !

12/07/2026: Was in Mr. Bradleys for a friend's birthday and said I'd call into La Tana to get some pizzas for my partner and I. I'd never had anything from La Tana but had heard great things and was excited to try it. When I got into the shop, I went up to order, but the person at the till cut me off and asked if I had cash, i said no, she told me to order online. So, WHILE IN THE SHOP, i had to download an app and order off of that. I watched this happen to several people after me. It would have taken less time for the person at the till to take my order than it did for me to download the app and pay through that. I understand if it's a cost saving measure, but given the price of the pizza, it doesn't appear to be having an affect. To the pizza itself, it was fine, but €23 for a 12" pizza is crazy. I justified it as a once off but to be honest, between the experience ordering and the price, I think I'll just be deleting the app again, because I won't be rushing back.
