07/12/2025: I rarely leave reviews, but this place is a real gem! Best Italian restaurant in Dublin I would say! Discovered it by coincidence even though I am living next door. Visited twice and both were amazing experiences. I tried there steak, pizza, and pasta. All were great, and the tagliatelle with chicken and wild mushroom is highly recommended!

28/09/2025: Slow service. Guinees was below average. Staff were lovely. Buffet food was mid but the portions were decent. Pity it's over priced for pub grub. Great Irish bar all the same. Sports on the big screen, giant smoking area. Very cosy. Would return.

24/08/2025: I love the southern style chicken box with the oreo milkshake! This is one of my favourite fastfood places ever. Last time it was emptier, less saucy, etc and the service was slow with two staff members (but this is very very rare), but Gabriela (I might spell it wrong) made my order perfectly (super saucy and cheesy), was super nice and offered great fast service. :D

16/11/2025: A real little gem in the heart of Dublin. There’s something very special about Basil’s, as you step in the lighting is perfection, you’re wrapped in a warm glow immediately & then the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air. Then there’s Farzan, open & friendly & the epitome of service with a smile. There’s freshly cut sandwiches & sweet treats a’plenty not to mention the sauna & cold plunge directly next door. The whole offering can only be described as ‘unique’. Don’t visit Dublin without stopping off at Basil’s, you’ll be very glad you did!

14/12/2025: Extortionate cancellation policy. Charging 20€ a head for a cancellation just under the 48 hour cancellation period for genuine family reasons. As a frequent customer I will not be back

12/12/2025: I would strongly advise against relying on this place for any special occasion. I had made a reservation for my graduation dinner, received a confirmation, and even had my card details verified. Yet, just a few hours before the reservation time, they called to inform me that they did not have a table for my group. How is that even possible when I had a confirmed booking? What’s the point of taking a reservation if it isn’t respected? They showed very little concern for the importance of the occasion and simply said there was nothing they could do, other than sending me to a “partner” restaurant. Ironically, this partner restaurant was empty… which makes me wonder: Is Sophie’s overbooking and then redirecting guests to a less popular venue owned by the same group? It feels extremely strange and frankly unacceptable, to make a reservation, receive confirmation, wait three days, and then be told there’s no table for you. Such a disappointment. They left me in a very uncomfortable situation, having to find a last-minute reservation on a Saturday night in the city centre of Dublin, almost impossible. Overall, a deeply upsetting experience that truly ruined what was meant to be a special celebration.

04/12/2025: The pasta was so tasty, the staff are very friendly. Portion sizes are good, timely service and standard prices. I would definitely come back.

15/11/2025: Do not bother with this place. I went when the restaurant was empty. They gave me a menu and then went to the back for a chat for almost 10 minutes. You could make your own lasgna in the time it takes to get food here. Also the prices are much higher than google photos

26/09/2025: Fantastic true Italian cuisine! The quality is good enough for a formal restaurant setting with cloth tablecloths. The pasta was true el dente, the sauces homemade, the flavors exquisite. Purchased a pizza for take away also. I fully recommend this restaurant.

27/08/2025: Absolutely fantastic, authentic Italian food. Plenty of vegetarian options e.g. pizza, pasta, suppli (rice balls with cheese). The pizza dough is perfect and fresh and plenty of mozzarella on top. I had spaghetti puttanesca without anchovies and it was delicious! Honestly, do not waste your money going to chain "Italian" restaurants, go here if you're in the area. They provide full waiter service. There's plenty of free parking outside.

14/11/2025: I’ve been coming to Antica Toscana for a long time, and it has truly become one of my favourite places in Drogheda. The food is always fresh, delicious, The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. The owner is genuinely kind and attentive — someone who truly cares about the customers and the quality of the restaurant. You can feel the passion behind the service.

20/08/2025: We went here for my best friends birthday. The food was lovely but that was the only positive. The food was late and staggered arriving from the kitchen; meaning we all couldn’t eat at the same time. When we questioned where the desserts were, we were barked at and told to sit back down. When we finished food; me and my boyfriend had to leave early, we wanted to pay separately. This was ok however when I went to tell the girl my order and what I had, she cut across me and said the waitress will tell me. I found this very insulting as I would never give an incorrect order when paying. The waitress continued to interrupt us each time we went to tell her our order to which I responded, I know my order I don’t need you to tell me like I’m not gonna pay. The staff were ignorant, very abrupt and made the atmosphere extremely unpleasant for those who remained behind for my friends birthday. I will not be going back here and tbh this restaurant left a sour taste in my mouth. They say 1st impressions are key. This was my 1st and last time going to La Fontana. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, life is too short for bickering!

20/08/2025: I booked a group dinner for my birthday. The staff were very attentive and helpful with securing an available time slot. They regularly checked in with me by ringing me to confirm numbers throughout the week leading up to the booking. I thought this was very thoughtful of them. However, on the night the service was very poor. The orders for food and drink were taken quickly which was good. The main courses were brought out promptly. The plates were cleared before people were finished their meals and a few of the party were being haruanged about whether they were finished. The desserts took an hour and a half, and half were brought out and the other half afterwards. The wait staff snapped at me when we asked for the other desserts. At the point of payment, it was not mentioned to me at the time of booking, over the phone when they contacted me, when we arrived and were seated nor was there any visible signage that we could not pay separately. The owner of the restaurant, an older Irish woman, shouted at my friend when she tried to request that the party of 13 people could pay separately and brought up how it was not mentioned at any point leading up to us paying. The staff continuously interrupted and cut across us every time we tried to list out what we ordered and jumped ahead to say that we had to take for xyz drinks etc. Overall the food tasted incredible however the atmosphere created by the rudeness of the staff and the delay of food was unpalatable. I would not be coming back here, even just for a date as the experience was unpleasant and we had the feeling of being rushed out the door.
