The best restaurants in Kildare

22/05/2025: We were attending a wedding and stayed in the associated hotel (The Cliff at Lyons) on an inclusive package. Their main restaurant (The Mill) is separately reviewed. We took breakfast here both Saturday and Sunday. We were not expecting to have lunch either day, so ordered the full Irish breakfast both days, although there was a decent choice of lighter dishes . This was a major repast. Orange juice and a compote of fruit was served immediately and good despite most fruit being out of season, the full Irish breakfast was authentic, great and was served with an afternoon tea type stand heaped with toast, Guiness soda bread, scones, croisants and pain au chocolat, all stiil warm. Super coffee and tea. Service very good, quick and efficient, especially on the Sunday when we had to leave to catch a plane. The walk in price for this is high, but you will get your money's worth. Lovely ambience, especially in the morning sun. The wedding breakfast was also served in here (from about 17:30) after canapes in teh garden. This too was excellent, especially for a group cater, however I will not be reviewing this as it was not my party, nor did I pay for it.

30/01/2025: If you're looking for a nice spot for the a date or celebration, The Orangery is a great choice. The food was fantastic and the setting was beautiful.

26/01/2025: Nicest authentic Italian food I’ve tried in Ireland.would definitely recommend to try and avail of their inexpensive prices.

20/10/2024: The Irish breakfast and French toast were completely greasy, and the sausage was undercooked, not to mention the coffee, which was terrible

25/03/2025: I contacted Matt in a panic at very short notice to cater for my Mam's funeral when we were let down. He was absolutely incredible. The food and service he provided was just perfect but much more than that, at a very difficult time, he was kind and patient and took wonderful care of our friends and family. He does not just cater your event he takes care of people. I also had the opportunity to taste his amazing scones when I popped in the settle the account. Amazing!!! Treat yourself and pop in and sample his fare.

01/07/2025: Waited 20 minutes and was not given my food after ordering, while others were served ahead of me. When I politely asked if it was ready, the staff asked me if I was sure I hadn't already taken my order. They then said they had no record of the order. They then said it is not in their system. They then said I hadn't paid for it. They then asked me once more if I was sure I hadn't taken the coffee. They then both exchanged glances with one another that were dismissive of me. I then handed them my receipt and asked for a refund, to which they reluctantly and rudely agreed. Have reached out to the store for an explanation and still nothing. Will not be back again.

04/05/2025: Fabulous food, cannot praise this restaurant enough. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. I would definitely pay more! Had a wonderful time from start to finish

11/10/2024: Just ordered a takeaway, chicken wings, chips and a yakisoba. €31.50 with a 15% discount, quite expensive, €6 deliveryto Celbridge. The chicken was quite dry, not very flavourful. The yakisoba was very small, about 5 prawns, practically no vegetables, not nearly as good as I have had elsewhere, €14.50. I will not be ordering again, much better available in Celbridge.

14/08/2024: This Restuarant was highly recommended by my daughter in law so myself wife and I decided to try it out. We’d never had Korean food before so it was a ‘shot in the dark’ so to speak. It was magnificent! We were served by Katie, a most informed and affable lady, who went through the menu with us. We chose the pork bar b q which arrived with several dishes, and Katie chopped and cooked the pork on the table (each table has a grill build in). Condiments included lettuce leaves, onion in sauce, several spices and small potatoes. I cannot rate this experience highly enough. Wonderful staff and excellent food. .

04/10/2024: Went there today one of my friends sandwich had a hair in it we returned it no body apologised or even offered her anything else. She didn't pay for the lunch as she wasn't charged we all paid and left the premises we were followed out by a very rude member of staff and asked to pay for the tea our friend had plus €1 for an extra filling in an omelette which was a complete oversight. We are all seniors and were treated terribly by that member of staff. Won't be back

22/08/2023: Waited over 20 minutes to get a simple take away americano. Staff were completely overwhelmed and there was no visible management presence. The cafe was messy, very cramped and not conducive to a relaxed environment. The food including the cakes did not look appealing at all to me. Overall, would not recommend the cafe.

09/08/2023: Lovely setting the staff are nice but honestly it's so incredibly expensive the food on offer is not amazing unfortunately . They don't have much prep area but I'm sure they could offer better value and better options . Definitely bring a picnic if the weather is nice the coffee is good though .
