06/08/2025: We arrived at the gates of this restaurant today 6th Aug to find the gates locked and 2 other cars there as well. The sign said Open but there was no answer when we rang it. V poor indeed. Should have sign saying closed, Also website should say closed! Went to pub called Cookes in Canagh on Athy Rd and had a delicious lunch!

13/07/2025: I was in the restaurant on Saturday 12th July with friends all was great until the waitresses left around 1.30 we were getting served by a lovely young lady but then the girls disappeared and only two men left .restaurant got busy and not enough waitress|waiters on ..food was amazing but need more staff

09/07/2025: Really nice pub, good look and feel about the place. Friendly helpful staff and the beer is really good, great pint when in the area.

24/05/2025: Plenty of friendly staff in a busy eatery. Hot food ought to be on a hot plate, my chips were cold and my hamburger overdone and the dearest price I have ever paid for a burger in Europe. Onions rings lovely. But overall impression, not interested, just dish it out. Had I been on my own I would have walked out.

25/03/2025: I contacted Matt in a panic at very short notice to cater for my Mam's funeral when we were let down. He was absolutely incredible. The food and service he provided was just perfect but much more than that, at a very difficult time, he was kind and patient and took wonderful care of our friends and family. He does not just cater your event he takes care of people. I also had the opportunity to taste his amazing scones when I popped in the settle the account. Amazing!!! Treat yourself and pop in and sample his fare.

05/10/2025: Tasty food, caring staff, and a charming atmosphere. A delightful lunch stop that went above expectations—definitely worth revisiting. Food: We ordered a cheeseburger and the daily special: chicken & ham. For a pub-style burger, it was quite decent. The chicken & ham dish was perfect, though I had to skip the mashed potatoes and stuffing due to dietary reasons, and swapped them for French fries instead. Everything I could eat was tasty and well-prepared. The portion sizes were just right, satisfying without being too heavy. The only slight letdown was that the daily special mentioned “vegetables,” but none were served on the plate. Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Drinks: We only had water on this occasion, so there’s nothing to comment on here. Rating: N/A ⭐️ Staff: The staff member serving us was excellent, very helpful and attentive to my allergies, even giving recommendations on what to avoid or substitute. Service was quick and friendly. Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Environment: The place has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, with soft background music that made it easy to enjoy conversation. Rating: N/A ⭐️ Value for Money: A pleasant surprise! The food quality exceeded expectations for a casual lunch stop. If we’re ever back in the area, we’d happily return. Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Extras: • There was a wedding taking place at the hotel that day; worth noting if you’re looking for a wedding venue. • There were goats and alpacas/llamas out front, which added a fun and unique touch! 15/07/2025: Extremely Disappointing Second Visit – Serious Food and Service Concerns We’ve just come home from our second visit to Korean Royal City in Maynooth. Our first experience was great – the food was fresh, the service was warm, and everything ran smoothly, which is why we were happy to return. Unfortunately, tonight was the complete opposite and has left us deeply disappointed and genuinely concerned. One of the main dishes – my partner’s chicken – was absolutely not fit for consumption. It was clearly not fresh, tasted off, and was extremely dry. When the waitress asked how everything was, I politely and quietly said one of the meals was not good — the chicken wasn’t fresh and tasted off. I made a point of saying this discreetly, as another diner had just arrived at the table beside us. Instead of reading the room and handling it professionally, she continued to dispute it openly, making the other diners visibly uncomfortable as they ate. It was embarrassing and entirely avoidable. When it came time to pay, we explained again that we wouldn’t be paying for the inedible dish. She offered 10% off the item — about €1 — which felt dismissive given the seriousness of serving potentially spoiled chicken. I explained this wasn’t acceptable and that the dish needed to be removed from the bill entirely. She refused, would not call a manager, and said the chef refused to come out. She then claimed her boss was away for a month having surgery and there was no manager on duty — effectively, no one in charge. In the end, she would only take half the dish off, and we were forced to pay €72.50. She insisted she didn’t have the authority to do more. Other issues that added to the experience: We had to ask for basic things like napkins and glasses. There was no lighting in the bathrooms. No music, no ambiance at all. Card payment wasn’t available due to “no WiFi,” and we were told we had to pay cash — something we found highly suspicious. The most worrying part is that we now sincerely hope we don’t become unwell after tasting that chicken. We rarely complain and always try to be fair — our first visit here was lovely, and that’s why we came back. But this experience was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and potentially unsafe. We’ll be contacting the Food Safety Authority and awaiting a call from the manager or owner.

04/10/2024: Went there today one of my friends sandwich had a hair in it we returned it no body apologised or even offered her anything else. She didn't pay for the lunch as she wasn't charged we all paid and left the premises we were followed out by a very rude member of staff and asked to pay for the tea our friend had plus €1 for an extra filling in an omelette which was a complete oversight. We are all seniors and were treated terribly by that member of staff. Won't be back
