22/02/2026: We visited Malzards on our recent trip to Ireland. Fun, atmosphere, and company were easily all 10/10!! Pulled a pint and got a perfect pour. Will definitely visit if we ever go back!!

30/01/2026: Just went in for some pints. Lots of cosy nooks and crannies. A great pub. One of the best in the country. Pool table Darts. Fire. Its got it all going on here.

10/08/2025: We went with three children for a snack, and it's a small but charming place. The pastries were delicious, as was the coffee. Highly recommended.

25/10/2025: Absolutely magnificent! The food at Tābú was hands down the nicest tapas I’ve ever eaten in my life. Every single dish was bursting with flavour. The staff, the ambience, the whole experience was just divine. And to top it all off, when we couldn’t get a taxi, the owner personally dropped us back to the train station, not once, but twice! That kind of kindness and genuine hospitality is 5 star service at its best. I honestly can’t wait to come back. Tābú should be in every town and city! Thank you so much for such an unforgettable evening.

09/03/2026: Only 2 of us in Petronella for lunch Sunday 8th March, no other diners! We were there from 12.35pm, no heating, radiator beside us cold ! We just had main and dessert, Hake lovely but "baby sautéed potatoes" were dreadful, tasted like previous evenings leftovers. Desserts were okay, but expensive at €10 each. We had one glass of merlot and a bottle of cider . Bill was €93 . NEVER AGAIN.

02/01/2026: A good friend and local recommended here so we decided to treat ourselves on the last day of 2025. My husband and I shared the garlic prawn plate with homemade bread at €15 which whilst delicious was small in volume. I ordered the fish of the day (cod at €24) and my husband had the battered fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce at €19.50. Fish was fresh and tasty. Our children had a choice of sausage and chips or battered fish and chips and ordered one of each at €10 each. The only thing I would change would be to add some vegetable to the kid's meal to make it more balanced, healthy and filling. For drinks, we had water for the table, glass of milk (€2), Miwadi (75 cent) and a glass of Horgelus at €9. Overall, very impressed with the quality here. Recommended if in Kilkenny.

06/12/2025: We had a small Irish breakfast and it was very good! Everything was hot and fresh! Staff was very accommodating! Would highly reccommend! Sorry I forgot to take pictures.

22/09/2025: Friendly and authentic gem. Fresh, delicious sandwiches with highest quality ingredients, made to order, with care. Very good value! We had a lovely outdoor picnic on this beautiful sunny day and enjoyed every bite.

23/02/2026: We were 'walk ins '.....offered table till 630.....Not Turned Away !! The right approach.... Food was great and the tapioca desert unusual and pleasing This is a good set up !!!

02/03/2026: We were so pleased to find this lovely gem of a cafe on our visit to Kilkenny. It was so peaceful, with great service, and tasty food. I was able to get a couple of different gluten free options, including a scone and a sandwich - they also mentioned vegetarian options on the menu!

23/02/2026: One of my favourite cafés in Kilkenny! The atmosphere at The Lime Tree Café is always so lovely, and you’re greeted by the most welcoming, kind staff. They’re attentive, always smiling, and make you feel right at home. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions, and even the coffee and hot drinks are top notch. Everything about this place just makes you want to keep coming back. Highly recommend if you haven’t been yet! Run by lovely people who clearly care about every guest!
