02/08/2026: Lovely homely food in a chilled atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The garlic mushrooms were the best we've eaten in a long time. My husband and I were very happy with foods and service and highly recommend this place.

25/06/2026: My experience at the Carriage House at Adare was beyond bad. It was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by a very sweet and kind host who showed us to our table. That was the highlight of the dinner I’d say. We sat down and we sat there for about 20 minutes before the waiter came up and he wasn’t friendly, not rude, but not rude. He took our drink order and then came back for the food later, he was just direct, no side talk or anything. That’d be fine if I was at a normal restaurant, but this was a nice restaurant at Adare manor. I ordered the filet with a side of Mac and cheese, the filet came out, I had ordered it medium rare. I had cut into it, and it was not tender and it was more of a medium well, so I sent it back. The manager came to my table and in a friendly way called my judgement wrong and tried to inherently mansplain a medium rare steak to me. So I was like, if that’s medium rare, cook the new one rare. The rare one came out and it was more tender and looked better, but then I cut into it, and it was basically a living breathing piece of meat. The fat marbling that you see on a raw steak was still visible, and it was cold in the center. I can’t understand how going from medium rare to rare was so different. I didn’t send it back that time because frankly I was ready to leave after the bad experience. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, but it didn’t stand out or anything. The total for my meal came out to about $90 for the worst filet I’ve ever had/one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had and some mediocre Mac and cheese. I highly recommend dining somewhere else, literally anywhere else. Don’t waste your time at this so called restaurant.

25/09/2025: First time and it was a great surprise. Food is just the right amount of spicy (we chose things with just one jalapeño) and the Kulfi for dessert was delicious. We had a selection of starters and side plates to share (garlic naan is a must) Our servers were suuuuper nice and attentive, they gave great recommendations and were conscious of food choices (I'm vegetarian). All in all a great experience, definitely recommend. Sorry there's no pictures we ate everything before taking any

20/06/2026: We were recently visiting Newcastle West from USA & Germany and were looking for a cozy traditional pub. We stopped by the Silver Dollar Bar for a nice evening out. Landlord Patrick, all his staff and guests welcomed us as if we were family. We all had the most enjoyable evening listening, singing and dancing to a live traditional music session. We will definitely visit the Silver Dollar Bar next time we’re in Newcastle West.

22/08/2026: Good tea, "tea for one" was a cup and a half, worth it! Lemon curd cake and carrot was basic, and the hot cocoa was very nice. Wish the teapot was not dusty and the spiderwebs that cover the windows were cleared. They're undergoing some restaurations right now though and hot food is only available until 3pm. Otherwise, the plants were beautiful and there's a lot of gardening stuff here, my go to store from now on.

16/08/2026: The staff were extremely polite and efficient. We had the seafood chowder and buffalo wings for starters. Both were very tasty and zero complaints. We then had the roast beef which came with a nice selection of vegetables, roast potato, yorkshire pudding and potatoes. I must say the portions were quite generous and extremely tasty. All in all, it was the perfect meal from start to finish. Highly recommended!

12/05/2026: I visited this restaurant twice in two days, and have tried their seafood chowder, beef brisket sandwich and Smoked BBQ platter. With this quality, they can already open up a popular restaurant in any major cities across the world. Staffs were super friendly with a big smile. Strongly recommended.

20/07/2026: Been my favourite fish and chip shop for over 20 years. Used to travel to it. But now live close by! Fresh cod and chips delicious and a very good range of different meals to choose from. Staff now seem very efficient. Fish frying is a professional task not just flinging fish into oil! Everything redecorated and upgraded! Well done.

21/02/2026: Nice small coffee shop, inside Arthur’s Quay shopping centre, coffee brought to table, relaxed atmosphere, people watching everyone passing through the centre. Friendly staff.

29/06/2026: Chicken hut has always been my to go place. I even recommended it to others over the years. But sad to say the last 3 visits I've got very sick after eating their. And last night was my very last time going their. I dont drink so its definitely the food. The Chicken pieces have become so small not even sure what it is they are serving Definitely never going there again.
