The best restaurants in Limerick

11/03/2025: I had the most authentic Indian food in a long time in Ireland. Raasta foods has become my favourite weekend spot. I loved the Dosa and Chutneys! Dosa was crispy, spread with flavourful podi and kaaram and hearty potato filling. I also ordered the new meals and I loved them too. They felt healthy, had very little oil. The portions were generous too. The veg stir fry was not too oily, simple and tasty. Loved the chapatis, I was surprised to see so many but they were hearty and nice. The sambar was delicious. The paysam was not sugary, it was simple and tasty. Highly recommend it

08/03/2025: An affordable Indian food truck that you'll love! The Masala Dosa is delicious, and the service is excellent. The chef is also very friendly and interacts well with customers. I plan to visit on a Sunday to try the Hyderabadi Biryani—hopefully, it will be even better. I'll check for updates on which Sunday they serve it. We also enjoyed Masala Chai.

26/02/2025: Nice pints at a fair price. Good staff and sound doormen. Shows lots of sports and the pub is clean. Plays live music most nights.

30/03/2025: Had booked brunch here for our first Mother's Day today and when we sat down we noticed a dinner menu only, at midday on a Sunday. The staff advised that only a dinner menu was available today, no notice on the website when booking or on the confirmation text. Had I known this I would have cancelled and booked elsewhere for brunch. We walked out and had a lovely lunch at Spitjack.

30/03/2025: We’re visiting the republic of Ireland with two teenagers who follow an Irish guy who talks about a proper spice bag. To me, that’s a bag you’d toss into a pot with crab legs. Newsflash the Irish, or mainly the many Chinese/Asian take away restaurants in Ireland see it much differently. It’s a taste treat (albeit a cardiological nightmare) comprised of fried chicken strips, French fries, a few sautéed vegetables and a mound chips. Which those are French fries. Mind you this is the only spice bag I’ve had, but damn. It was good for several reasons. First, price. Americans have this idea that eating in Ireland is going to be so expensive. It’s very comparable or even less in price when you realize that Europe pays servers enough to not rely on tips. Tax is also built into the cost so that doesn’t drop another 10% on. Second. The food. Yep. Not healthy. Yep. Not gourmet. However it was seasoned amazingly, and fresh hot and a dang good portion. The curry sauce was flavorful and you control how much or how little you want. I wanted all of it. Plus Sriacha. Third. Madam Mok herself is a huge part of the deal. She served us and didn’t try to sell us on ordering more than we needed, and was kind, funny and down to earth. Which sums up just about every Irish person we’ve met along the way, no matter where he or she was born. Proper Spice Bag in Limerick!

23/02/2025: Ordered takeaway from here today, and it was awful, I couldn’t even eat half of it. Everything was overcooked, overly crispy, and dark brown, like it had been fried for too long. The chips were barely potato, just crunchy sticks, and the chicken balls were soggy with a strange aftertaste, almost like washing-up liquid. I’m really disappointed, especially since the last spice bag I had from here in person was delicious. There was so much grease that I feel sick now.

14/01/2025: Had dinner after a Munster rugby game. It was cozy. We had a choice of seating. Menu was concise but had a few dishes for me to choose from

13/11/2024: The (probably) restaurant manager brought us the food, put it ON my cutlery without apology or comment and sat at the next table next to a guest with whom she spoke very loudly and animatedly (probably in Polish), which really bothered us. After about 20 minutes, she got up without paying any attention to us and went with the guest into the "Staff Only" area. None of the 3 other bored waiters (with a maximum of 10 guests) showed any interest in us or served us or cleared away the dishes in the next 60 minutes.

13/03/2025: Reuben sandwich is great and bbq corn is amazingggggg. Mac and cheese is good, a bit more buttery than cheesy though but very Friendly staff!

18/03/2025: Had a lovely stay at this hotel. We met with very welcoming staff at reception, Stephanie and hotel staff , Josephine and Maggie could not have been nicer. Lovely riverside walk. Bar food and Breakfast very nice ,freshly cooked. Rooms and Hotel area nice, warm and comfortable. All in all a lovely place to stay, a hidden gem!

16/03/2025: Beautiful hotel with wonderful atmosphere, and staff. Hotel was immaculate and offered a wonderful breakfast every morning with a wonderful wait staff! Also had a fairy garden and walk along the River Shannon. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

17/12/2024: Called in here after parking the car at Howley's Quay Car Park. I could not have asked for a better choice, even if I had trudged the rainy cold streets. Had a lovely coffee and completely spot on ground beef baked potato. Fast, efficient service, what is there not to like? Particularly liked the little touch of some iced water with my espresso. I would highly recommend this place in Central Limerick for lunch /breakfast. 😎👍

09/01/2025: Great chipper, food always tasty and staff friendly

20/12/2024: The fish and chips weren't good. I effectively paid €11.65 for a can of 7up. The battered fish was soggy as were the chips. What I ate was very little finishing it would have been like an endurance test.

07/03/2025: Excellent pizza, the best in town, very good quality and quite large, the waiters are kind and have an extraordinary work ethic. You won't regret spending an evening there with your friends/family. Overall, I really think it's a wonderful place to eat and have fun.

30/12/2024: The best pizza in town. pizza was cooked to perfection and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.... Service is great and staff is very helpful.
