05/08/2025: Fantastic pizza would highly recommend, you can bring it into the quays pub too and sit out on the terrace overlooking the sea. Can be a bit of a wait for food 20m-1hr when we went so plan accordingly

16/10/2025: We had a lovely lunch there today. The food they served was delicious. I had a dish called "Guinness leek sausages" which was a very welcomed alternative to the usual food you get for food like burgers, fish and chips, turkey and ham or lasagne.
The service was fast and very friendly.
03/10/2025: Went for dinner and a few pints on a Thursday night, and I was met with a quiet, cozy bar. The interior is beautifully decorated and features a fireplace that really adds to the ambience. I had the chicken breast with red wine sauce for dinner and it was delicious. My dining companion enjoyed their fish and chips. Great vibes, will be returning!

01/08/2025: I'm a Claremorris local, but moved abroad over 20 years ago. When visiting family in Claremorris I make sure to bring the kids to Blue Thunder. We visited again recently and it was just wonderful. Bernie and Rose couldn't have been kinder. We were a large group of 13 and they made sure everything was taken care of. Super clean and good prices. Normally a chipper is a chipper, but the service level here stands out. Thank you ladies!!

20/08/2025: A small pub with character and they know how to pour a Guinness! A Guinness commercial was filmed here re: funeral for a dead television set. Laid back ambiance.
20/08/2025: This was my favourite pub in Westport, everyone was very welcoming, I even met the owner who took five minutes for a chat, so that made a great difference,in enjoying the beer and the evening.

19/08/2025: Great pub , good food , well worth going to , we had 8 people last Saturday evening, no booking and they did their best to accommodate us for late food , would definitely recommend the loft .
08/08/2025: Popped in this morning for breakfast with my newborn in his pram. The waitress took me to the back, which was stuffy and filled with patrons, I expressed that I’m breastfeeding and don’t feel comfortable feeding my baby while literally sitting 30cm away from a stranger and said I’d like to sit in the front section which was empty apart from one occupied table.
I sat down, 10 mins later I was asked to move to the back again by another waitress. I repeated my concerns but she insisted I move because the pram was too close to the empty 2 seater table next to me. I told her I’d rather leave, which I did.

11/10/2025: Great chippy!! Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. My group had fish and chips, which were served crispy and hot. Should’ve asked for the extra salt they offered for the fish, but it was still tasty. Other menu items include burgers, fried chicken, milkshakes, and a variety of chips.

Parking can be a problem.
07/09/2025: Staff extremely unprofessional food delayed over 20 mins 3 times we had to ask a lady for our drinks this is not the first time this has happened. Place is gone very bad mostly due to staff very very disappointed and from other reviews Iv just read certainly will not be going back.

10/11/2024: Decent station just a vending machine and toilets there, just be aware that bus eireann no longer collects from there even though online you can book a ticket from the train station but you need to go to Mill st that's the last stop for the buses it's about a 10minute casual walk from the train station
