30/01/2025: Currently on the Western Way I found a very pleasant refuge at Campbell last night after the tough climb of Croagh Patrick. A fireplace, some Guinness and all served by Richie who was super friendly! I will come back with great pleasure!

16/02/2025: I regularly visit Ballina but my fault I haven't been aware of the Bar Square previously. I know now what I was missing, pleasant staff the minute you enter door, lovely menu , and up my alley , decent portions. Both myself and my better half left there happy and most importantly in today's culinary climate, full. On a bitter March day lovely and cosy too. Each dish was tasty and well presented. I'll certainly have it earmarked for future visits to Ballina.

23/10/2024: Reviewing the restaurant - best of local produce used! Had the salmon parcel for starter and lemon soul for main! The fish was delicious and so fresh!!! AMAZING! Really good service also! Shout out to the young chap learning the hospitality trade last night! Lovely drinks also and the view of the cliffs were to die for with the amazing blue sky! Great restaurant!
28/09/2024: Ate here twice over the season and both times the food was excellent. Clean plates for all three courses and I was stuffed by dessert! Lovely service from really friendly staff. Beautiful location.

14/02/2025: Found rooms freezing with no working heating. No Netflix or YouTube on TV, warm water but not hot. For the price point I wouldn't stay again. Staff were lovely. But Westport was 30% cheaper, better rooms and breakfast included.

05/04/2025: I ordered a Caesar chicken wrap WITH the bacon lettuce and the fried onion, NO SAUCE, as it clearly states on box label..got it take away to eat at local park and enjoy it on the sun, only to have opened my wrap to find two pieces of chicken smothered in caesar sauce. At that point I’m not going to go all the way back to the restaurant to get it re-made!
The worst part is that this happens on a regular occurrence and it’s honestly shocking how a very simple order can never be made right.
It seems in the future I should start unfolding wraps and burgers on the takeaway counter like some sort of an insane person to inspect the food to be able to eat what I actually ordered? Ridiculous.
21/03/2025: Their fries are always fresh and hot which is rare.

14/03/2025: Great pub brilliant amsphere on a Friday and Saturday night there a good night bar on until 3 they’re a story to every seat to the bar and the open the fire place. the land Lord is a fine mighty hamsome buck Ashame he not single:.: there was a drunken woman an older lady Joeanne ohh my…. she was coming on to partner Saturday but the locals told her off her partner not impressed. I love this pub the bar man what a gentleman…:.. overall the pub and restaurant and bar is worth alone coming to Ballina everyone was so friendly very welcoming.
