30/06/2026: The hotel staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to each and everyone of them,, the location was perfect right on the edge of town ,,the bedrooms were very comfortable and the decor was really nice attention to detail was excellent we will be back.

21/08/2026: If you want to taste real Italian pizza in Ireland, this is the place. Pio is the pizzaiolo, and it shows in every bite: proper dough, top quality ingredients, and that authentic flavour you usually only find back in Italy. He runs the show, with Federica and all the staff looking after everyone with the same care, and together they create something that feels genuinely like home. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and honestly wonderful. We’re not sure our travels will bring us back this way, but if they do we know exactly where we’re heading. Thank you for a truly special evening.

09/08/2026: Excellent, delicious wood-fired pizza. Everything is clean and fast. You form your own order and place it at the counter. You can order drinks at the bar or from the waiter nearby. There are enough seats. There were no queues. There are hairdryers in the toilet, which is convenient in wet weather, as we had.

13/08/2025: Didn’t eat here, but wouldn’t go back for drinks. Bartenders were not friendly at all and refused to make mixed drinks for Americans, but then made them for their friends who ordered right after. One acted as if he didn’t know what Tito’s vodka was. They had great live music and a lively crowd, but a very unwelcoming bunch. Americans should skip this spot and spend their money elsewhere. One of the few pubs the group had anything negative to say about.

20/07/2026: VERY UNFRIENDLY SERVICE BUT GOOD FOOD Our food was great, they only had 3 waffles between 2 of us (usually 4) but it was still plenty and a great portion , as for the service, the African lady, not sure of her name, served us and was very friendly when we first came in but as soon as we sat down her attitude completely changed and to be quite honest she was the rudest waitress I’ve ever dealt with. My boyfriend asked if they had coke, she looked at him as if he had 3 heads, and very abruptly said NO , she also done this when I asked if they had hash browns. We ALSO heard her do this to an elderly lady who asked for some strawberry jam, she also was clearly very unhappy with how she was spoken to. The table hadn’t been cleaned down before us either as it was sticky and the cutlery was dirty, this also should have been checked by floor staff. Again, food was absolutely lovely and the girl that came out from the kitchen to tell us about the shortage of waffles was very kind and friendly but this waitress needs to learn some basic manners and change her attitude to make people feel welcome. Completely ruined our experience as we had heard it was a lovely spot to stop off on our way back from Ballaghaderreen.

06/06/2026: We spent the night in Castlebar for a concert (our first time here), we got lots of recommendations from locals to go to the Tara Cafe for brekky the next morning, so we did. We highly recommend this cafe for food. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. So worth the visit. And right beside Penny's... its a win, win ✨️

17/07/2026: I stayed here in June 26, I wasn’t expecting anything special as is 3 stars however I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was lovely, done really well, bathroom was spacious and well kept. It’s in a great location only a short walk from the town centre, and the staff were lovely. I didn’t eat so I can’t say what the food was like. I’m writing this as I stay in the Ellison which is close by, I can say that you guys have nailed it and is way better than where I am now

15/06/2026: Christopher Cross at the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar A Mixed Experience I recently attended the Christopher Cross concert at the TF Royal Theatre and, overall, thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Christopher Cross was excellent, and the venue itself is spacious, comfortable, and has great acoustics for live music. Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service side of the event was disappointing. As someone requiring accessible seating, I found it difficult to locate my seat and received very little assistance. The staff and management came across as rushed, unfriendly, and not particularly helpful when guidance was needed. The ushers appeared disorganised and often seemed unsure of where patrons should be directed. It felt as though there had been little or no staff briefing before the event, resulting in confusion throughout the venue. At times, this lack of organisation made the experience feel somewhat unsafe, particularly for those with accessibility needs. I was shouted at by ticket checkers at the door. One issue that stood out was the lack of signage at the main entrance. The main doors were closed, and there was no clear indication that patrons needed to enter via the side of the building. This created unnecessary confusion and made arrival feel rather haphazard. My advice to future visitors would be to have your tickets ready in advance and spend a few minutes researching the venue layout before attending, especially if you require accessible seating. The TF Royal Theatre is a fantastic venue with great potential, but better staff communication, clearer signage, and improved customer assistance would greatly enhance the overall visitor experience.

27/07/2026: They need to update their opening hours, drove here especially to eat and they were closed despite their opening hours showing as being open.

The surroundings are stunning, peaceful, and perfectly maintained, making it an ideal destination for families as well as couples looking to relax. There are so many fun and exciting activities for kids that they never had a dull moment. My children had an amazing time and were entertained throughout our stay, creating memories they will never forget. The food was simply outstanding. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and prepared to perfection. The taste, presentation, and quality were truly outclass and exceeded our expectations. Every dish reflected the care and attention of the chefs. What made our stay even more special was the exceptional hospitality. The entire staff was incredibly polite, friendly, caring, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their professionalism and genuine kindness made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. A special thanks to Mr. Noman, Wani, and Subhash. They are highly experienced professionals who looked after us so well throughout our stay. Their excellent service, attention to detail, and friendly attitude made a huge difference and ensured that we had a comfortable and memorable experience. A small improvement shop is out of stock need some lore stock in shop please I highly recommend Delphy to anyone looking for a perfect getaway with outstanding service, delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and unforgettable family-friendly experiences. We will definitely visit again!

17/08/2026: Supermarket.. can buy all groceries here. Post Office inside here too & small area to have tea or coffee. Can buy alcohol, toiletries, frozen & fresh foods.They have a fresh bakery section too. Also alcohol free drinks. You can get currency exchange at the post office here.

07/08/2026: Disappointing drive-thru experience today. We ordered and paid €4.30 for Mozzarella Dippers, but when we got home we realised they were completely missing from the bag. Strangely, the dip was included, but not the actual mozzarella dippers. We live quite far from Castlebar, so driving all the way back just to get a missing item isn’t really an option. I understand that mistakes happen, but it’s frustrating to pay for food you never received. Drive-thru orders should be checked properly before being handed to customers.
