06/01/2026: Visited sat 3/1/26 .... visited this cafe a few times before when in Castlëbar and liked it but......Had "great stuff" sandwich from menu €10.50 as they say OMG..vv poor offering .. kinda thing you'd THROW together yourself if in a hurry at home ..came with garnish on the side ..blob of mayo/coleslaw type concoction ..uughhhh .Have worked in cafe sector..know price ingredients etc have increased but cmon you can do much better .Never asked at til if food OK when paying Standards have dropped here ..won't be back

31/01/2026: 10/10 – Declan absolutely made our night. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His energy, professionalism, and genuine warmth were unmatched. He wasn’t just great at his job — he was the highlight of our entire stay. The hotel is lucky to have him, and we’ll be back largely because of him!

25/01/2026: Stayed 1 night on our trip to Achill. Room was perfect. Sea view was incredible. Bed was super comfortable and Ann is just the best host/manager. So friendly, welcoming and just an all round lovely person. The pub underneath is cosy and very reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our short stay and will make sure we return in the spring/summer, hopefully for a longer stay.

25/01/2026: This place is a hidden gem. From we arrived Ann was nothing but amazing. She provided us with lots of local information, was so attentive and made us feel at home. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. We can't wait to come back again later in the year. The Guinness is also unbelievable in the bar and it was accompanied with a lovely open fire

19/01/2026: We’ve visited this hotel venue several times over the past couple of years for gigs and performances, and today’s experience was absolutely brilliant with the Wizard of Oz pantomime. We arrived early and enjoyed tea and cookies in the café, then sat in the covered outdoor area, which was lovely. The staff were attentive and welcoming from the moment we arrived. As the show was unreserved seating, we made sure to arrive in good time and had no problem getting seats together as a family of five. The ushers and security staff did a fantastic job directing people, with members of the management team clearly on site throughout, helping to coordinate everything and ensure the event ran smoothly. Queues for the shops and toilets were very well managed, which made the whole experience feel calm and well organised. The show itself was amazing, and it was great to support a locally produced pantomime. The tickets were excellent value for money for a 3–4 hour family day out. Overall, this is a great venue for local families, couples, groups, and solo visitors alike. We’ll definitely be back again.

16/01/2026: We came to see The Wizard of Oz Panto. We left after 20 minutes. I don't mean to be unnecessarily unkind but I say this to paint an accurate description The show was not to the average production standards of a primary school play. It was unwatchable and we couldn't clearly hear what the performers were saying. What jokes we heard, We wish hadn't as they didn't land and some made us uncomfortable to be heard around children. 'Big Billy ' Whist this was not the venues fault, they should know what they are presenting to the public. Obviously, if you have a child in the production, you're going to be invested and it's going to be great fun. The venue website should have had a disclaimer. 22 Euros! Also 3 coffees and a popcorn were 17 euro and the coffees undrinkable.

29/11/2025: A lovely atmosphere in this small restaurant in the city center, efficient and friendly service, the daily special served with fresh baguette – a real treat! Delicious dessert and cappuccino served with a sweet treat...

20/10/2025: We are locals. I wanted to bring our visitors from Madrid here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. They are foodies and I had explained that Savoir Fare is probably the best lunch spot in town and was recently recommended in The Irish Times. We arrived just before 12 noon and I was pleased to see empty tables because they don’t take reservations. I was told very bluntly “I cannot serve you”, because we were a group of 6. I asked if we could divide into 2 tables of 3 which were set for lunch and unoccupied. I was told “I will not split the group. I cannot serve you”. The way he said it was rude. The other diners were all watching. So we left. I stood outside on the pavement in the drizzle, super embarrassed in front of our visitors. Bruised, we walked up to The Clockhouse Cafe and after a short wait, we were seated. Not the same offering at all, but we were welcomed, and served with a smile.

21/06/2025: Tesco is pretty big here, and they do have a cafe nearby. There is a lot of things to do around it shops wise including a lot of parking but couldn’t find a single bathroom!

07/08/2025: Food was tasty and portions were a good size. Lost a star as well spent over €30 and didn't get any prawn crackers

08/12/2025: Great bar with a nice bar food menu. Excellent beer garden and brilliant staff.

06/09/2025: Whats a pure gem of a watering hole. No point in going to croagh patrick if you don't call in here. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Will be back again please god.
