The best restaurants in Mayo

10/06/2025: We had a wonderful stay with very friendly hosts and a beautiful homemade Irish breakfast. It is very close to Knock airport so made our journey very convenient. Would recommend if you are in the area.

18/02/2025: My husband and I had a wonderful few nights here looked after superbly by Anthony . The Full Irish was the best we’ve ever tasted with homemade bread and local produce. Endless pots of tea , fresh fruits , yoghurts , cereals and juices. The freshly baked scones were to die for ! Tea / coffee /biscuits always available in the gorgeous quirky sitting room. Our second visit here ( last one pre covid ) and so sorry the restaurant is now closed but plenty of lovely places to eat in Charlestown only a few minutes walk from the Riverside. We will definitely return as the location is perfect for visiting Knock Shrine and a few minutes from the airport .

13/08/2025: Food chicken stir fry rice and noodles was average. Too expensive for quality food. Placed in seats adjacent to public bar. Insufficient room to enjoy average food. Not worth cost. Plenty seating away from bar... being blow in has its disadvantages.

13/08/2025: We found this restaurant near our accommodation in Cong. We arrived half an hour before the kitchen closed. For those who have never been to Ireland, the kitchen often closes quite early, around 8:30 or 9:00 PM, so you have to decide where to dine well in advance. Aside from that, we entered this quaint, elegant, and refined restaurant. We ordered five courses: 2 appetizers 3 main courses (as in the photos). The quality and attention to detail in the dishes were truly exceptional. My compliments to the chef. The waiters immediately showed a concern for all the guests present! An important detail was one of the waiters who asked us if we wanted coffee before he turned off the machine. The atmosphere was very peaceful! Recommended!

14/07/2025: Lovely girls working here. Charming service. Great food. Fish and chips was massive. Great crispy fries. Good wood fired pizza. The atmosphere is cute and historic. Peaceful and pretty.

20/07/2025: 2025 Have eaten there twice in past month. One of the best Chinese we have eaten in for a long time. Excellent food, great value & owner Helen is very nice. Our go to place in Ballina.

15/08/2025: The resort is located in the Doolough Valley, completely secluded. There's nothing within walking distance, but the scenery is stunning. We enjoyed the night there.

15/08/2025: So disappointing! Not worth the drive - not worth the money!, the room is full of spiders and insects. You will find spiders in your cloth suddenly! Bed mattress is a disaster it is so old and not comfortable at all. Oh and my bedroom door doesn’t lock , we had to put something behind the door to make sure nobody gets in while we sleep!!! No cellular signal, only hotel wi-fi And nothing is refundable! Think twice before booking -

28/08/2025: Disclaimer: I did not receive any kickback for this review. My family did the “Hawk Walk” experience at Mount Falcon. Incredible! Of course you can’t control the behavior & actions of birds, especially Birds of Prey. Daniel, the falconer was exceptional. He was great with our daughter, who also loved the experience. Daniel took time to introduce and explain each bird and their behavior. We were able to see 5 different birds eat, and walked through the woods with Hunter, the hawk. It was an unforgivable experience, for our daughter and my wife and I as well. 10/10

25/08/2025: Stumbled upon this cute little drive through while driving through Ballana. The coffee was absolutely delicious, and we got a little free piece of browny with it:) Which we thought was a very thoughtful touch, thoroughly enjoyed this pitstop🫶
