26/07/2025: We are here twice for breakfast/brunch whilst visiting family. We ate the loaded boxty (yummy!!), half mac breakfast and pancakes. The food and drinks were all delicious. On one day, I didn't want a massive dish and just asked for a portion of boxty which they happily accommodated and it was delicious. Thank you to the team who were kind and professional throughout.

05/08/2025: Highly recommended Julians. Celebrated my brothers 60th birthday on 20th July with family & friends and everything from venue, food and staff in particular were fantastic. 10 out of 10. Could not find a fault. Would highly recommend Julians for any occasion. Thank you for helping us to Celebrate Henry's Birthday.

27/07/2025: Lovely restaurant, travelled with friends for a funeral. Food was very fresh and the employees were very attentive in this very busy cafe. Loved the sourdough pesto, chicken and brie melt.

21/06/2025: Food medicore at best. Steak came over-cooked already on hot plate, ribs tasteless and dry, with what seemed like bottle BBQ sauce dolloped on top, chowder was ok. Three things we ordered didn't come, waited a long time. Staff pleasant and friendly

20/06/2025: Authentic old Irish pub. Places like this are disappearing fast, mores the pity. Lovely pint of Guinness and friendly barmaid. Would loved to have stayed longer but I will be back soon.

04/08/2025: The food was delicious. The curry was what surprised me the most, something different. The salad was hearty and well-dressed. The service was fast and very friendly.

06/08/2025: Stayed over last week for a few days, and I honestly think I couldn’t have stayed anywhere better in the EU for the same price. The room was basic and what you’d expect, the bed was very comfortable and the sower and toilet worked as they should. The coffee and tea facilities were great, and plenty of room to hang your clothes etc.for a single room it was excellent. The pub downstairs was excellent too for food and entertainment on most nights, location is the best in the town. Take it from me you’ll love your stay here, the owners and staff couldn’t do any more for you if they tried. So for the few moaners in the review section you really need to give your head a wobble. 31/07/2025: We chose to stay at this place because of the good reviews, but that is apparently only for the restaurant. The service and cleanliness were both poor. When we first arrived we had to hunt someone down from the restaurant to help us. They charged us gave us our key and disappeared. The place is dated, which would be ok if it wasn’t so expensive. We had to find them multiple times because of a filthy kettle and an issue with the toilet not working properly. They addressed the issues but had no interest in making our stay enjoyable. We also had to go find someone the next day when we checked out. Terrible service and the guest rooms seem to be merely an afterthought that will make them money no matter how little effort they put into them

28/04/2025: A brilliant place to relax, have some good food and drinks. Lovely view of the river, and fabulous, welcoming staff.

04/04/2025: I'm a hard working Irish man working a job that the majority of Irish people refuse to work in and that is the care of elderly in nursing homes for many years. I arrived to Ballina for the night after sightseeing the Mayo coast. Without having previously taken a drink of alcohol I was refused service at this pub saying "I had too much to drink tonight". The real reason was my Limerick accent and what one local barman said to me. This pub believed me to be belonging to an "ethnic minority" which means to us Irish as the Travelling Community. I have been up and down my country of Ireland and as a middle aged man I have never experienced any type of discrimination before. What a shame they trade off the name of Joe Biden. Close minded bigots. Avoid if you are a tourist to Ireland this is not an authentic Irish pub.
