18/05/2026: Had a lunch here after cycling the Monasteries of the Moy. Fish & chips with a bottle of Bulmers. Nice and quick service.

22/04/2026: An unexpected spot, nestled in the natural beauty of North Mayo. The welcome we received was exceptional. The ladies who work there were lovely and always smiling. We ate very well, for a very reasonable price. Our son even received a complimentary dessert, crayons, and coloring books. We highly recommend stopping by for a meal if you're ever in the area. Thank you for everything!

01/12/2025: June 2025 Quite pricey for what it is, not really comfy, but did the job on a rainy and stormy day on our bikes. The person responsible was really welcoming, gave us the room on very short notice and was there to welcome us on arrival.

21/06/2026: Stopped here for a coffee and mocha on the way to Belmullet. Very friendly staff and lovely coffee. Parking behind the cafe with EV charging.

04/06/2026: Always smells amazing from freshly baked goods, great coffee, really cosy friendly atmosphere. Owners are very welcoming and always happy to have a chat.

16/12/2025: Very disappointed with hygiene standards Was in Café M in Castlebar recently. Food itself was fine, but the hygiene practices I observed were poor and hard to ignore. I watched food preparers carrying out multiple different tasks while wearing the same gloves throughout — including scratching and then continuing food prep — without changing gloves or washing hands. Gloves are only effective if they’re changed regularly; clean hands are far better than dirty gloves. I don’t blame the staff on the floor — this looks like a training and management issue rather than individuals not caring. However, food hygiene has to be taken seriously, as it directly affects customer safety. I hope management review their procedures and provide better training, as this is easily fixable but very important. Also the coffee had a slightly sour taste. This is common on a machine that needs a little TLC.

17/06/2026: We had a lovely dinner at JW's Brasserie. Fish was fresh & delicious, service was friendly and wine selection was excellent! I would definitely recommend.

10/06/2026: Having booked six of my colleagues and I for lunch at The Wyatt yesterday Tuesday 09th June, have to say what a treat.Food service and comfort totally top class. We certainly will be back.What a gem right in the centre of town.

05/05/2026: I love this bar, I've been here for work for a month now, but I can recommend it to anyone who likes peace and quiet, live music, nice staff, meeting great people and making new friends. You're definitely welcome here. The owner Padraig is a great guy and very friendly and helpful, also great staff, I recommend it above all because I am the type of person who is picky and if I don't like it I won't come anymore, but here I am I've been in Hoogans Bar for a month now and thank you for a great month spent here in this bar after work. I always relax here when I come here and a big plus is that they don't care about clothes and they treat the worker the same as everyone else.An ordinary person, I take my hat off to this, once again Hoogens bar, thank you for the nice month I was able to spend here for My work

29/03/2026: We had many a great night here when visiting town with family. It became our HQ for the weekend essentially. The bar has a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We got to see some great live music and meet friendly locals too. The drinks list is extensive and the cocktails are very good quality, no sugary rubbish.
