The best restaurants in Mayo

11/11/2025: I've had breakfast here about 5 or 6 times in the last 8 weeks, the breakfast is good except on every occasion they've used stale bread for the toast.

05/11/2025: The food is delicious, roast pork very tender! Lots of choices of the dessert! And mainly the staffs are nice and friendly!

26/10/2025: They work hard in The Western Strand ~ We wern't guests in the hotel so we came in 3 minutes before close (8:30pm kitchen closed that Thursday) and there was no issue being seated and menued (shows great kitchen discipline, although try not to do what we did, spare the chef)! They do an open mic on Thursdays which sounded great and added fantastic atmosphere. The food was delicious and the waitress was delightfully friendly. The presentation of the food was tops. Very happy, will be returning for dinner again in the future.

06/08/2025: Stayed over last week for a few days, and I honestly think I couldn’t have stayed anywhere better in the EU for the same price. The room was basic and what you’d expect, the bed was very comfortable and the sower and toilet worked as they should. The coffee and tea facilities were great, and plenty of room to hang your clothes etc.for a single room it was excellent. The pub downstairs was excellent too for food and entertainment on most nights, location is the best in the town. Take it from me you’ll love your stay here, the owners and staff couldn’t do any more for you if they tried. So for the few moaners in the review section you really need to give your head a wobble. 31/05/2025: Have gotten take away from here a few times and it’s always really good. Meat is great quality and sauces home made and so good. Would definitely recommend. This is the best quality food for miles around

19/06/2025: The pints are the creamiest I’ve ever tasted and the long hallways are decorated with history. Some really nice characters in there early doors. British lad named Nathan surely knows his away around the pool table, him and his pal Mark gave us a right licking!

08/08/2025: The Staff were so welcoming as we walked in and the food was so tasty Really enjoyed it my Husband had the beef burger and i had the chicken fillet burger and our little girls portion of pasta was perfect service was really good The lad that served us was really friendly we will be back

31/10/2025: We had an incredible experience at the Ice House Hotel from start to finish. The riverside views are stunning, and the mix of modern design with the historic charm of the building is just beautiful. Our room was spotless, spacious, and had the most comfortable bed — plus that huge window overlooking the River Moy made it feel so peaceful. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely went out of their way to make our stay special. Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding — fresh local ingredients, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive. The spa was another highlight — relaxing, spotless, and the outdoor hot tubs by the river were a dream! We left feeling completely relaxed and pampered. Highly recommend the Ice House Hotel for anyone looking for a luxury getaway in a serene setting. We can’t wait to come back!

29/10/2025: Great thing about the icehouse was the view from the rooms. Absolutely stunning. Wouldn’t rave about the food but it was fine. People working there were very friendly and professional.

27/09/2025: My husband and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal at Cullens, previously Cong’s theatee v The menu offered many delicious items to choose from. The onion soup was absolutely delightful, perfect balance of other vegetables along with the onions, which were the highlight. My husband enjoyed every bite of the duck conft salad. For the entrée, I enjoyed a very rich and tasty shrimp and lobster risotto. Scott was wowed by the sole which was deboned at our table. The servers were very friendly and shared the history of this venue. !Chapeau! Hats off to the chef! And staff.

17/09/2025: We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Marianna (hopefully I spelled that correctly) was amazing. She was our waitress and she made the best drinks + great conversation. I had the pasta with clams and mussels- amazing. My wife had the chkn. Everything was great, excellent and we had a great time. Dessert and the Irish coffee was excellent as well. Highly recommended. We stayed at the lodge.

24/08/2025: Joe is the Michael Jordan of breakfast food. Amazing service, family business vibes. I fully recommend to eat here. Italian approved coffee. What are you waiting to come here for food ❤️❤️❤️

26/09/2025: Sincere thanks to Staff for helping me when I missed a bus connection by a few seconds on Wednesday night last. I am an older person, using a walking stick, my phone was dead, and anyway I had no taxi numbers. It was late and it was dark. Staff were happy to call a taxi, they also offered the possibility of a lift as they had a delivery on my way home. I was delighted to accept a lift, I heard since that not all taxi's go out late.

05/07/2025: We were passing through Ballina. The kids wanted pizza and we chose Domino's. We waited 10 minutes and ate in the establishment. Neat and clean in the hall. The toilet is stellar. The pizza is very tasty! We will definitely come back to you again!
